Can My Private Health Insurance Be Used Under The Jones Act?

By Timothy Young

Many seamen are provided health insurance through their Jones Act employer. When these individuals suffer a work-related injury under the Jones Act, very often their employers will ask them (or even tell them) to use their private health insurance to pay for medical treatment related to their work injury. There are several concerns about using your own medical insurance to pay for a work-related injury under the Jones Act.

One concern with attempting to use your own private insurance to pay for a work-related maritime injury relates to the language of your insurance policy. Many private health insurance policies contain language which states that the policy does not provide coverage for a work-related injury. Very often maritime employers will request or even instruct an injured employee to use their own private health insurance to pay for medical treatment relating to a work injury. If the employee does not fully describe to his doctors that his injury occurred at work, sometimes the employer will later claim that the employee was essentially committing fraud by using his private health insurance to pay for a work-related injury. In short, your employer may try to accuse you of trying to cheat your own private health insurance if you try to obtain medical treatment for a work-related injury through your private insurance. Many employers will do this even if the employer itself requested for you to use your own private health insurance!

Also, most private health insurance policies give your insurance company a lien for any medical expenses that they pay on your behalf. A lien allows your insurance company to receive full repayment for any medical expenses which it paid on your behalf. This repayment will come out of any money or settlement that you receive for your Jones Act claim. In other words, if you are later able to successfully resolve your Jones Act claim and you receive any type of settlement or judgment, in all likelihood your health insurance company will require that you repay any medical expenses which it paid on your behalf relating to your work injury. So instead of having your employer properly pay medical expenses for which it is responsible, sometimes you ultimately end up paying back your own private health insurance for such medical expenses.

One other concern with using your private health insurance to pay for medical treatment relating to a Jones Act injury is a practical effect that using your private insurance has upon your claim. Many Jones Act employers will have the injured employee use his private insurance for months and months of medical treatment following the original injury. This can sometimes delay the official filing of a claim under the employer's Jones Act insurance. Even though the injured Jones Act employee has done nothing wrong, many times it is difficult to move a claim forward if the employer's insurance company was not made aware of the claim until months and months later. It is always best to immediately report any type of Jones Act injury and also require that your employer pay for all medical expenses rather than putting these expenses on your own insurance.

If you have suffered an injury at work under the Jones Act, in almost all cases it is best to insist that your employer pay your medical benefits rather than claiming your medical expenses on your own private health insurance. Using your own insurance should be a last resort if your employer refuses to pay under the Jones Act; and then, make sure you clearly state that the injury happened at work.

Automobile Insurance

By Graham McKenzie

Auto insurance policies cover insured party, insured vehicle as well as third party that are involved in the accident. Different policies are available for the customers and they can purchase anyone as per their requirements. Coverage levels can vary for each auto insurance policy owner.

Auto insurance provides complete protection against losses happened as a result of vehicle accidents. Normally it includes automobile insurance and motor insurance. The customers purchase this insurance policy owner to reduce the risk incurred due to accidents of cars, trucks and other vehicles. People can also secure their vehicles against theft, fire destroy or accident destroy.

Insurance is two of the essential things to secure you, your relatives as well as your vehicle. You?ve to pay a sure amount of premium for a fixed duration of time and then the insurer agrees to pay you for any kind of damages or loss of your vehicle. Cost of an insurance policy owner depends on the coverage because your policy owner covers more only if you pay more.

Automobile Insurance is expensive because it is the best way to secure you and your automobile. The main types of insurance are as follows: Fully Comprehensive Auto Insurance Policy Third Party (fire & theft) Third Party Insurance Specialized Car Insurance

Most drivers choose to purchase comprehensive insurance because it offers the most protection for the investment. However, not all drivers need full coverage especially if an older vehicle with a lower value is being insured. In this case, third party insurance may be desired. This policy only offers coverage if you are at fault in an accident that causes damage to another vehicle. While this option is cheaper, the insured may end up paying more out-of-pocket if all damages are not covered.

Specialized insurance offers coverage to classic vehicles. That is those vehicles that are 25 years or older. The specialized options allow the insured to choose only the options needed for their particular circumstance. The insured should research insurance providers and policies before making a decision as premiums and coverages can vary by insurer.

Once you have determined how much you can afford to pay for your insurance premium you need to establish the deductible you want to pay for each incident that may occur. Discuss you requirements and any problems you may have with different insurance companies and get quotes from several agents on how much it will cost to insure your vehicle. Car Insurance Quick Quote - How to Save Money

By Andy Darwinson

If you felt faint the last time you opened your premium notice from your car insurance company, then it's time to start saving with a car insurance quick quote. Often you'll find that by using the services of an online site, you can get multiple quotes and find the best rate for your car insurance.

Many people worry that if they pay less in premiums, they won't have as good of coverage. That simply isn't true. Companies set their insurance rates according to their loss experience, operating expenses and investment experience. Higher rates are an indication that they aren't doing well in one of these areas.

Some companies are instantly recognizable because of all the commercials you see on television. Slick advertising campaigns can cost several thousands of dollars - money which their customers end up having to pay for through their insurance premiums.

When you secure a car insurance quick quote, you may not recognize the name of some of the companies. That doesn't make them good or bad. It simply may be an indication that they allow their service to speak for them rather than spend the extra money to drive in customers.

If you want to feel less uncertain about a particular company, an easy way to discover how solid they are is to check their financial rating. Most companies freely offer that information at their website. Another option would be to check for customer complaints, particularly in your state, which you can do by visiting the website of your state's Department of Insurance.

If you're set on using a recognizable name, those too are included in a car insurance quick quote. Websites offer numerous different companies, everything from the fairly small to the giants that have been around for years. The important thing is to compare the difference in rates and decide for yourself.

When you look for a car insurance quick quote, make certain that you compare apples to apples. Input the exact information on the coverage you presently carry. Make sure the deductibles remain the same in the quote and that you secure a quote with the same liability coverage. Both of these factors make a huge difference in the final price. A bargain isn't a bargain if you get less coverage.

When you have narrowed it down to the company you want and the rate you like, look to see if you can do even better. Double check for discounts you may have missed. Discounts are often offered for multiple cars, safe driving, good students, or even having alarms installed.

Once you've found the best company for your needs, then you can adjust the coverage. By making adjustments on the quick quote you can see how it affects prices. For instance, increasing your deductibles will significantly reduce the cost of your car insurance.

And don't forget the limits of your liabilities when looking through your car insurance quick quote. Many times the price difference for good coverage isn't much. If you have low limits and are in an accident that causes you insurance company to pay for high medical bills, your low limits might not cover the entire amount. And that difference is something you will end up paying for. Don't be afraid to pay a little extra when picking the right insurance.

What Makes a Low Cost Car Insurance Special

By Ronald Sutherland

There is a normal expectation in the world that ultimately you will get what you pay for. If you buy something that is cheap and hope to get something of quality then more often than not, you will be disappointed. It thus isn't unbelievable that people take this expectation and use it to judge the difference between low cost car insurance versus full service and full prices car insurance. The logic is that since your car insurance is cheap, so it only makes sense that your coverage is below-par. This is wrong, we will explain to your why in the following report.

Just to set things right, some low cost car insurance products are bad, some are good. The same way that some full priced car insurance products are bad while some are good. It would be silly to pigeon hole budget car insurance products as being all bad. There are many small time budget small-time car insurance companies out there that can offer very comprehensive coverage together with acceptable levels of pay-out at very competitive prices. To preclude yourself from low cost car insurance products because of a misconception of their worth would be alienating yourself from some potential good deals. We would recommend that customers and clients consider them and learn to recognize good low cost car insurance providers.

Lets' first go into the characteristics of the good low cost car insurance companies so you can very easily recognize one when you see it. The first thing is that generally low cost car insurance companies have very small advertising budgets. It is unlikely that you will be able to find a low cost car insurance provider that has a huge advertising budget. Thus, if you start seeing all sort of advertisements about how low the costs of a certain company are, then that should start to ring alarm bells in your head.

Budget insurance agencies that provide low cost car insurance coverage will almost always be a bare-bones operation. You should go down and have a look at their place of business to find out how they operate. Low cost car insurance providers are generally very cautious when it comes to spending money for anything. As a result of that most have offices that are either run-down or are simply too cramped for the amount of work to be done or number of clients to service. These car insurance agencies also do not have fancy addresses in the CBD but instead set up shop in cheaper neighborhood commercial zones. There isn't an air of pretentiousness with them as everything is "down to business" with them.

Another common characteristic is that low cost car insurance providers almost always are smaller companies that are striving to make themselves bigger. This is evidenced by the way and the aggression in which these low cost providers in chasing customers. You will find that they have a very flat organizational structure and they have a few too many customers per manager. The main purpose of this is to keep administration costs to a minimum and pass on the savings to the customers in the form of lower premiums.

Most low cost car insurance companies are also new start-up companies which have only been around for a few years. It is very rare that you will find an old company that does low cost insurance deals. If you pay a visit to their office you will be able to find out if this is the case. There are however exceptions, the first is if a established insurance company is going through a rebranding exercise, they could be expanding their market reach downwards and offering very good deals to entice new customers their way. If you have identified one of the low cost car insurance providers that is just a start-up, it is your responsibility to find out how trustworthy they are and if their pay-out ratios are good. Start-up insurance companies have a bad habit of giving too good a deal in the front-end and being unable to cover their end of the bargain at the back-end.

Low cost car insurance providers are also very specific in the products that they offer, namely car insurance and only car insurance. They don't venture into other finance items and have very few product options available. They certainly do not try to sell you "rider" products where you get a special discount if you sign up to multiple products all at once. They generally don't have special deals or prepackaged product lines. They will sell you their low cost coverage and that only. This is quite different with larger full service insurance companies who will try to relieve their customers of as much money as possible. Smaller overworked budget car insurance companies will only concentrate on keeping their premiums low so customers are attracted back to them. They do not have the time to sell you other associate products as they themselves have a very limited product range.

The company that is the budget low cost car insurance provider is very different compared to the full service car insurance provider. It pays to know the difference of the two so you know how to spot one when you see them. Just be sure that you can forego some of the extra benefits of the higher-end full service car insurance companies and accept the bare bones policy that low cost car insurance providers will give you.

Group Health Insurance Advantages For You

By Dan Panera

The most common way to qualify for group health insurance is though an employer. While group health insurance offers several benefits, it may not be the best choice for you.

Anyone who is a member of the group must be allowed to have the same health coverage as all other members of the group. If your plan has an open enrollment period, you can join or add family members. Even if you or a family member has had cancer or is a diabetic, you can join the group health policy, although there may be limits to coverage for pre-existing conditions for the first year.

Once you reach age forty to forty-five, you will find that cost for group insurance is less that you would pay for an individual plan. In this age bracket, you will find that insurance costs about the same for individual policies as for group health insurance. As you age, individual policies get more expensive.

You will also find that individual policies have some disadvantages also.

With many plans, you do not have the chance to customize your coverage. It the plan administrator chooses to go with a new plan, you are stuck with the new plan, whether it is beneficial to you are not. In this time of budget cuts, many individuals are finding that their employers are going with cheaper insurance and the employee is paying more from his own pocket.

If you are young and having to pay for your own insurance, the group plan may cost you more than an individual policy. Insurance companies feel that younger people are a lower risk so they can have insurance at a lower price for an individual policy. Be sure that you take this into consideration before automatically adding a spouse or children to a group policy from your work.

Many people that are enrolled in a group policy have an employer that is paying part of the expense. Insurance is one of the most sought after benefits for working persons.

Tips For Getting The Best Rates On A Term Life Insurance Policy

By William Patricks

Many people delay buying life insurance because it can be expensive and, if you are living on a tight budget, it is the type of purchase that you feel you can ignore for the time being. Of course, the years go by and each year a life insurance policy becomes more expensive. Premiums are always based on your life expectancy, along with other factors. Therefore, buying a policy at a younger age can be more advantageous than waiting a number of years.

If you are on a tight budget, you will probably be shopping for a "term" policy, which is the least expensive type of life insurance available. A "term" policy generally lasts for a five-year term at a fixed premium. It is a great way to have a large amount of life insurance without spending a great deal of money. When the life insurance policy reaches the renewal period, after you have had it for five years, you will find that the premium will increase considerably because it will be based on your current age, not how old you were when you originally purchased the policy.

Comparing life insurance plans is a great idea when you are approaching your renewal period. Many policies are extremely competitive and you might find much better life insurance rates at another company. Compare the life insurance plans to be certain that you are purchasing a similar product that will meet your specific needs. After you have ascertained that the product is equivalent to the one you currently have, request life insurance quotes so that you can compare costs. Fast life insurance quotes are often available online, so consider investigating online life insurance to see if they are competitive with the companies you have already researched.

After you compared all your quotes it is now time to make a decision as to whether or not you will stay with your current company or change to one because it has lower rates. Before automatically taking the cheapest quote you will want to once again review that policy with the policy you currently have to make sure that they are compressible. Although a policy may seem like it is a better deal, if you are not getting what you require then it is not worth the added savings.

Generally, when you change companies, you do have to complete a lengthy application including family medical history, and probably have a blood test. If, however, you simply renew your current policy, this will not be necessary. Depending on the savings involved, it may not be worth the hassle to go to another company for a small savings in premium. That is a decision only you can make regarding your time and money.

Advice For All Who Want Cheap Health Insurance

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

You can reduce your rates considerably by downgrading the level of coverage you enjoy. That's NOT smart. Nevertheless, you can pay much less for better coverage if you know the things that matter and take necessary precautions. Let's go deeper into this...

1. Being more flexible in your choice of health care providers will help you get cheaper quotes. This is because you may be required to restrict yourself to doctors and hospitals within a particular network in order to get certain low rates. And in such a situation you would have to switch to health care providers in that network and not those who are your preferred.

If you can can't make this kind of adjustment, then you cannot really pay less for your health coverage using this option. Although you're asked to be flexible, be certain that you also choose what will serve your best interest on the long run.

Insurance Quote

2. Your premiums might be tax-deductible if you're self employed. You may as well be entitled to a tax break if your employer offers a flexible spending account. Consult a tax professional. He/she will tell you savings you can or cannot make this way.

3. Being on a single policy could save you a lot and you should take advantage of it if you're married. You have to compare though to determine which offers you more savings.

This is because in a number of situations it will save you more to be on separate plans and in other situations it saves more to be on the same plan.

4. If you are the type that is hardly ever sick you will save a lot by choosing catastrophic health insurance instead. This type of policy takes care of you if you suddenly fall ill or get involved in an accident.

You'll really appreciate this policy if you ever have to pay huge bills due to unforeseen ailments or accidents. The name certainly does give a clue of what it protects against. The premium paid for catastrophic health insurance is really cheap.

Nevertheless, bear in mind that it has deductibles that are as high as $2,000. Notwithstanding, you'll be happy to contribute that little if your medical bills total as high as $50,000 which is where catastrophic health insurance truly shines.

5. Your premium will drop if you increase your deductible. This is the amount you will contribute before the insurer is bound to pay accordingly. Therefore, make your deductible as high as possible but within easy reach.

6. While shopping for low cost health insurance it's very important that you don't get carried away by just the cheapest rate. What you should be after is not merely the cheapest quote but that which gives you the best price to value ratio. Depending on your profile, you can get really low quotes that give you the quality you want if you shop well. However, if you are required to pay slightly more for the right coverage, then do so.

Auto Insurance -- Tips To Qualify For The Lowest Rates

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

I'll reveal more ways anyone can get huge discounts without putting themselves at risk. Here they are with a precaution you you'll do well to note...

1. You'll save by being loyal to an insurer due to the long term discount and accident forgiveness which they give to long-standing policy holders. Some insurers will give you up to 5% in discounts once you've been with them for up to three years while others will give you such a discount only when you've stayed for up to five.

Furthermore, if a long term policy holder files just one claim, most insurers will NOT raise their rates thereafter. Insurers offer these as incentives to keep you with them since it serves them better too. The longer you stay, the more you'll save.

However, what you may save by switching to another insurer might far outweigh all the incentives you'll get depending on what your rates are and how much another insurer is ready to offer.

Cheap Auto Insurance

If your auto insurance rate is $2,500 and you get a 5% discount when you maintain a policy with them for about five years you will pay $2,500 - (5% of $2,500 or $125) = $2,375.

However, know that your rates may be raised to reflect the effect of inflation. But if you are someone who does regular shopping for auto insurance you'll very likely get an insurer within those years of waiting who will give you comparable coverage at a lower rate. In this regard, it will be pointless to stay put because you are after a loyalty discount much later when you can enjoy lower rates at the moment.

It's a sure fact that most people can pay a lot less with another insurance company if they will only take the time to shop properly.. To be sure you're not simply missing out a better deal, get and compare auto insurance quotes from up to five insurance quotes sites..

2. Maintain an excellent credit rating. Having a poor credit history is simply making it difficult for yourself apart from the fact that your rates will be much higher. There are many reasons for this but this one ranks high among them: If you have a bad credit rating then it could only mean you have defaulted in payments at some points. For most insurers it shows a pattern they believe you might repeat with them in premium defaults. This means more risk to them and higher rates for you.

3. Choosing higher deductibles is a standard way to attract better rates. The recommended method is to go for the highest deductible that you can handle with a measure of ease.

I must emphasize that expected to make this amount available if you ever file a claim.

4. Drive as little as as you can since it will bring down your mileage and qualify you for a low mileage discount. This definitely makes sense if you live in an urban area where you have access to modern mass transit systems.

You can also cut down your mileage by joining a carpool.

5. Joining an auto club could attract a discount with a good number of insurance companies. Even though you shouldn't look to be given huge discounts for this, each small discount you can garner will add up to much on the long run.

Tips for Reducing your Car Insurance Costs

By Teri Harvey

Sorting out your car insurance is one of those chores all drivers need to do once a year (well all the legal ones anyway). Have you ever had to make a claim? Out of those of you that can answer yes, I bet there is a fair number of you that were disappointed with their insurer - some of you will have had to chase the insurance company, some of you will no doubt have had to battle with the insurer about the costs, I bet most of you will have found it stressful.

Those cheap car insurance deals are quite often not worth the paper the certificate is printed on, the inefficiency of the insurer, the small print that you didn't read, this all adds up to a surprise for most people when it comes to making a claim (and I'm not talking about a nice surprise financially). All things being even (sorry I was at the casino las night) it generally pays to go with a reputable firm when looking to renew you auto insurance. These firms do not always provide the cheapest deals but thats because you are getting what you pay for.

Alot of people do not realize that they do actually have considerable control over how expensive their car insurance quote is going to be, and that is the focus of this article. Keep it in mind that your auto insurance costs are related to the level of risk you pose to the insurance companies' investment in you, or your car more specifically. Based on this, here are some straightforward tips for helping keep your car insurance costs down:

1. Type of car you drive The model of your vehicle has a big impact on your insurance premium - performance cars, SUVs,and those that have a high theft rate are a bigger risk to the car insurers so naturally attract a higher premium. If you are in the market for a new car research which models are in the high insurance groups and consider removing them from your list.

2. Be a safe driver Any driving convictions and claims in the last few years make you a riskier driver to the insurance companies - drivers who have speeding fines and recent claims should note that they will have a high risk profile and probably will not qualify for cheap car insurance full stop. Drive safely and you will be rewarded with lower insurance quotes at the end of the day.

3. Consider the deductible you pay How much deductible do you pay with your current policy? - this is the amount of costs you are required to pay in the event of any claim and the cost of your insurance policy goes down the more you are prepared to contribute. If you are a careful, safe car driver and you have the advantage of a clean record then it may be in your favor financially to agree to pay a higher deductible - this can considerably lower the price of your auto insurance policy.

4. Make and model of your car Make your vehicle more difficult to steal with anti-theft devices and other security systems such as alarms - this is especially important if you have a model that has a high theft rate. Make sure that you mention any security systems you have installed on your vehicle when obtaining an insurance quotation.

5. Loyalty Bonus When renewing your car insurance policy, check with your current insurer about loyalty schemes and discounts and ask about what risk profile you fall into. If you have maintained a clean driving record over the past year then you may find that your premium will be lower.

Cheap Health Insurance: A Quick Look

By Marcus Sharp

With today's economy and companies with serious financial difficulties, more individuals and families are looking to save money by purchasing cheap health insurance. Most believe in the old saying "you get what you pay for", but in most instances, cheap, when talking about health insurance, usually means in price. Having said that, you should always research the company being considered. You never know when the company is offering low payments but increase the amount of the deductible.

Here are a few helpful hints that can help with narrowing the cheaper insurance companies down to the right one.

1. Do your research. Talk to doctors and insurance agents to get the most out your energy. There are also many, many, insurance companies that offer quick on the spot quotes for those wanting to compare quality and prices.

2. Do more research. When an insurance company grabs your attention and you believe it could be the answer, call the company with any further questions or comments you may have. Many are open 24 hours for convenience and can be contacted at any time. If the company is hard to get in touch with, you have to wonder if they are going to be there in case of an emergency.

3. Contact the insurance company. Set up payments and pick a reliable physician that is participating in the company's policies. Check the availability of the insurance agents in case you need to contact them.

Cheap health insurance can be a tricky purchase but can be narrowed down by using the resources available to make the final decision. Sometimes it takes a little research and diligence to find the right insurance company to cover your medical needs. There are many insurance companies that will lower prices in order to attract and keep loyal customers. When in doubt, call the Better Business Bureau and ask about the company in question.

What Should I Keep In Mind While Opting For A Family Healthcare Plan?

By J. D Theis

Life is very unpredictable. You never know what might happen and you need to be as protected from the unpredictable as possible. Your family are the most important people in your life and you should do everything you can to ensure they are safe and sound. There are many family healthcare plans in the market today. One can never predict illnesses or their costs. The best method to ensure your loved ones are safe is obtaining good health insurance. This will help pay for medical bills if somebody in your family is sick. It will also cover the expenses if there are any lost wages so that the family does not slip into debt.

One has to realise the biggest different between family and individual health insurance plans is the structure of the deductible. The deductible is the minimum amount that the insured person has to pay before the insurance company begins to pay for his bills and costs incurred. The person should pay for the medical services until the amount of the deductible is reached. Once this is done, the insurance company will pay for the rest of the costs incurred. The best family insurance plan will have separate deductibles for each individual and one for the entire family.

Another factor that people might have to consider when choosing a family health insurance plan would whether the price is decided considering individual members or the entire family. Some insurance policies have a set rate for a family. Families with lesser number of people are better off getting the individual polices rather than the family rate, in such a scenario.

One must also take care if a single person in the family has a special condition that increases the rate. In this case, care must be taken to ensure that the rate of the entire insurance is not increased but increased for only that person alone. One will also want to consider a healthcare plan with a good preventive care package. It should have very little co-pay. Though this might not seem necessary, it is a great investment and will be of great help in your child's future.

It would also help to research thoroughly about the organization. The insurance company is actually a large network of healthcare providers. It would help you to know who is in the network. Also learn the difference between HMOs and PPOs. HMOs need to be paid beforehand for health services. PPOs are a lot more flexible and even allow you to take your pick of the doctor.

How To Find The Right Home Insurance

By Vic Shallow

What is the best way to find the right home insurance? This is a question that you need to answer before you a buy a home. Remember, home insurance is required by your lender before closing on your new home. That being said, it is wise to begin to shop for the right policy as soon as you know that you are moving forward with the purchase of a new home.

When shopping for a home insurance policy keep a couple of things in mind. First, you need to get the right amount of coverage. Buying a home is most likely the biggest investment you're going to make in your lifetime. It's a mistake buying a home insurance policy that does not offer the right benefits. You are pretty much wasting your hard earned money if you do.

Secondly, Don't pay more than you have to for your coverage. Do some comparison shopping and ask what discounts you qualify for. Some companies won't tell you about discounts unless you ask. Some of the ways to keep your premiums down are:

Raise your deductible. Raising your deductibles from $250 to $500, can help you save up to 25%. Just make sure you can afford to pay the higher deductible if something should happen.

Buy your home and auto policies from the same company. Many companies will give a discount if you buy both homeowners and auto coverage from them.

Ask about group coverage. Alumni and business associations often work out insurance deals , which includes a discount for association members. Ask your association's director about any such deals.

Improve security and safety. Items such as deadbolt locks, burglar alarms and smoke detectors often bring discounts of 5% each, depending on the company.

Some companies offer no-smoking discounts if nobody in the home smokes.

Discounts are available, don't forget to ask which ones you're eligible for. The internet is a great tool to get information quickly. Do your homework and by all means compare quotes. Doing some research will help you find the right coverage. Compare quotes from several insurers by using an online quoting service.

Do You Really Need Renters Insurance?

By Dave Trusty

Whether you live on the top of the sky overlooking the park or in a home rented from a friend you need to have your own renters insurance policy. Renters insurance is the only way that you get to make sure that your financial situation is covered should the worst disasters strike.

Renters insurance is necessary to cover the basics of your lost, stolen, or damaged items should the rented property experience a significant situation. Fires, hurricanes, and theft can plague a renter if he or she is not covered. With the expense of personal items that are found within your home, not having a renters insurance policy is gambling with your future.

Your property is a different story. No matter what kind of coverage your landlord carries there is no way to recoup the losses that you can suffer from the damage caused to the building and the items in it. Whether that damage is caused by human or natural forces, if you want to be able to replace everything from your clothes to your computers you really need to carry renters insurance.

Many people mistakenly believe that they will be able to file a claim under their landlord's insurance if there is a fire from faulty wiring, damage from a natural event, or even damage caused by an outraged citizen. They believe this because it's no necessarily untrue, but it is also not necessarily true, either.

Confused? There are certain loopholes that would allow you to claim damages under your landlord's policy. For instance, if your landlord torched his or her own building and this was proven in a court of law you would have a legitimate claim. The years that it will take to build a case, take it to trial, receive a finding, and file a civil suit would be long and arduous. You are better off filing a claim with renters insurance and then filing a civil suit if it turns out the landlord is directly responsible for any losses.

It is better to protect yourself through your own policy. Can you imagine exactly how much it would cost to replace everything in your home or apartment? Even if you have that kind of cash on hand, renters insurance prevents you from having to bear the expense of replacing everything you own.

The whole point of renters insurance is to keep you protected from the loss of everything. Since you do not have a claim in the investment value of the property, you should at least be able to replace your possessions should you lose everything through a terrible act of destruction.

Health Care Insurance -- Interesting Ways To Pay Less

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

There are steps that will help you make massive savings without putting compromising quality. Would you like to learn more about them? If so, these recommendations will go a long way in helping you reach that goal...

1. Smokers get rates that are double or more that of individuals who don't smoke. It's a sure fact that smokers are vulnerable to various health conditions and that they don't live long.

It costs insurance carriers much more to provide health insurance to smokers on account of the bad risk they are to them. Once you quit smoking for about twelve months inform your current insurer or reapply to another insurer and you'll see a dramatic slash in your premium.

Insurance Quotes

2. People with excess weight pay far higher rates than those with normal weights. There's something called Body Mass Index (BMI) which is used to determine a prospect's premium.

A high Body Mass Index will always get an expensive premium all other things being equal. When your BMI rating is high it simply means that your weight is too much for your height. Now do not wait until when you can lose thirty pounds since dropping 5 pounds can reduce your BMI rating which will result in cheaper rates.

3. Although a good number of people have realized that smoking adds to their rates, they may not know that the same is also true if they use other tobacco products. For instance, you will get a higher rate if you chew or snuff tobacco.

Steering off all tobacco products will result in cheaper health insurance.

4. Believe it or not, your driving culture can have a negative effect on your health insurance rate. Speeding tickets and other traffic offences can effectively add to your health insurance premium. The simple reason is that if you are such a driver, you will most likely require medical attention for injuries than a very careful driver.

Improving your driving history and developing a good driving habit will reduce your rates. Fast muscle cars and power bikes will raise your rates because they make you a bad risk. This is because they are more likely to cause you injuries due to their higher risk of accidents.

5. Those whose lines of duty expose to hazards pay less affordable rates. Changing over to a safe vocation will bring down your rate by a considerable margin. Because a salesperson in a supermarket is not exposed to any health hazards like a nuclear plant staff, he or she would get cheaper rates.

Medical Insurance and the Uninsured

By Hubert Miles

There is a growing trend in the world when it comes to people without health insurance. It can be financially challenging for people to pay their living expenses and afford medical insurance to pay for the rising costs from doctors, urgent care centers, and hospitals.

With almost 40 million people in the United States with no medical insurance from either work or through a private individual health plan. For one reason or another, the research has shown that these uninsured Americans are taking a big financial risk. Some are without coverage due to job loss, while some don't have it because they don't qualify through their employer. The fact is that these uninsured Americans are just one accident or illness away from financial disaster.

Most Americans have their health insurance through their employers. There is a growing number of Americans who are forced to decline the medical insurance offered to them through work because their part of the premium is more than they can afford to pay.

There are a lot of working and former working adults like the unemployed, part-time workers, contract workers, and self employed small business owners who simply can't afford a medical insurance policy or don't qualify due to health reasons. It is estimate that 15% of the US population that have no health benefits according to the Census Bureau.

It is too early to determine what the long term results may be of this trend in uninsured Americans. Seeing that young children are not getting regular health care, there may be lasting effects both medically and in how health care is viewed when these children become adults.

But regardless, it is still important that everybody have some health insurance coverage no matter how small the policy. Many providers offer discount plans for doctors visits and limited benefits for hospital stays.

In Closing

The 80 million uninsured Americans have options for acquiring health insurance, many just don't know where to look or who to ask help from. Many carriers now offer high deductible plans and health savings accounts that don't require employer participation to get.

Worthy Advice Regarding Professional Negligence

By Simon P Jenning

A situation in which a person feels that he has been let down by any sort of professional, refers to professional negligence. It occurs when the manner of professionals depicts deceit; as a consequence, their clients can go through a loss, which can be financial or psychological, caused due to ignorance on the part of a professional.

Professional negligence is a specialist area, and is not a general practice of most solicitors. In the English Law, it comes under the general rules of negligence when professionals signify themselves to be more skilled than they actually are. These rules set standards, against which to compare the services offered by professional, to check whether their claims about their expertise are true or not.

Numerous fields of professional negligence are present. Medical negligence cases occur when an individual believes that inferior medical services or malpractice is involved. Just like this, even a Legal negligence case can happen in case one feels that his solicitor is not providing services that were previously guaranteed. Accountants, financial advisors, contractors, architects, etc, among numerous others are other such professionals. Improper treatment and disobedience of law can also come under professional negligence.

If you feel that you have been a victim of professional negligence, it is important to go to an expert for advice. There are certain things to check before hiring a solicitor to prepare your case. First, you must see how many professional negligence claims he/she has handled in the past, and what has been their success rate.

Secondly, you should see whether the solicitor is a professional in reference to the specific area of professional negligence of which, you have been a victim. Solicitors representing a well-reputed large firm, showing more experience, and being better at their jobs, should ideally be hired. However, your choice also relies upon how much legal fees you can afford.

It can be a hard process to find an experienced solicitor in similar cases. As mentioned earlier, professional negligence is a specialised field, and one that is not very publicised or advertised. Not many solicitors are eager to undertake such claims, and even among those, there are many who are unsuccessful.

This can make a case difficult, when the lawyer does not have the expertise to comprehend all the aspects of professional negligence claims. However, internet is a good medium in order to find solicitors who offer advice regarding your case, and aid in preparing it further if it shows potential.

You must be sure that the negligence really occurred, prior to making a professional negligence claim. Considering all the facts is essential, in addition to analysing whether you have actually been a victim or was it just incidental. Advising you on your case and deciding whether it will hold up in court or not is the job of your hired solicitor.

Getting The Best Small Business Group Health Insurance.

By Paul Stevens

There are some very good deals to be had on small business health insurance in the industry but is about finding the right companies who can give you the best prices.

However, this is not easy to do, unless you get a little bit of help in the process, because it takes a lot of time and effort to spend to locate and then get quotes from all the potential companies that are out there.

The easiest way to do this is wickedly clever in my opinion, and involves the use of a price checking website. Not many people are currently aware of this.

Anyone who is looking for insurance just goes to one of the price checker websites and lets it now that you want to find small business insurance for whatever state you are living in.

From here the website goes into action and quickly goes out and finds companies that can match this criteria, and then requests that they provide a quote.

Then the user just picks from a list of quotes. It is that simple! Anyone is able to get the best value just by picking the cheapest prices from a long list of different options.

The whole process takes just a few minutes compared to much, much longer if anyone was to try this on their own.

I do add one word of warning to anyone who is looking to use this method themselves (and you all should). That is to make sure that when you choose a website to use that it is 100% independent. If you use one that is not completely independent, then unfortunately you shoot yourself in the foot.

If the site does have any affiliations then the choice will be significantly reduced, as will be the opportunity to find the best deals that you can or which as possible.

The Significance Of Proper Teenage Driving Instructions

By Nathan Lewit

When your child reaches driving age, it is in their best interest to take independent lessons. They should have as much real time knowledge as possible before actually becoming a driver. Most localities require a teen driver to procure a learners permit before getting a full license. The statistics on teen driving aren't good. They show that male drivers under the age of 20 are 75% more likely to have a vehicular accident than their adult and female counterparts. Aa driving lessons will get your student ready for the road.

With statistics like these, it is essential that your children get good instruction before ever getting behind the wheel of a car. Teenage driving should be looked at as a privilege, not a right. Until recent years, public schools offered drivers education courses to all students who were of age. Due to the rise in insurance to cover these young drivers, many school districts have had to cancel these programs. It is now on the parents shoulders to send their children to drivers school.

When you first get to driving school, you will be instructed on the essential truths about the risks of teenaged driving. Often, counties or localities mandate that a driver receive a provisional license before starting a car. Because of this, a student has to receive instruction on driving basics first. In the beginning, you will learn basic principals that everyone has to know in order to drive. Laws may vary, depending on location.

Students will learn the fundamental rules of the road. They are instructed how to stop, when to stop and who stops first at traffic signals and signs. Students must learn about how a vehicle operates in order to prepare for operating one. They may have in class vehicle training before getting into a real car, first.

After you pass initials tests letting your trainer know you're ready to get on the road, you will get your first lesson behind the wheel. The car you drive will have dual controls; this lets your instructor make the final decision on each step you take. If something happens, they can take over and right the situation. While you may not appreciate this, you'll be glad that someone else can save you and the car if you make the wrong move.

You will most likely begin driving on a course or in a large, empty lot. This is so you can get used to the way the brakes feel, where the gas pedal is and how to turn the steering wheel just the right amount. Once you feel comfortable, you're ready to get out on the open road.

It's not uncommon to begin real driving in an area where there are not a lot of other drivers. Making sure that the driver is comfortable with the vehicle and the road first is very important. Once a driver reaches the stage that the instructor feels is suitable, the open road lessons begin. Classes usually consist of 20 hours of class time and 20 or more hours of drivers training.

After classroom and vehicle training is complete, the student must pass a test on the material they learned. This gets the driver ready for the official exam. Most municipalities allow potential drivers to attempt the official test three times before being sent back for some more instruction. Provided you pay attention in class and take notes, you should pass with flying colors!

Audi Car Insurance - You May Be Paying Too Much!

By Andy Darwinson

People that drive luxury automobiles like the Audi sometimes mistakenly believe they have to pay top dollar for good coverage. While the cost of Audi car insurance is going to be more expensive than the price you'd pay for a far more inexpensive vehicle, it doesn't have to break the budget.

Audi car insurance for a good price simply requires that you check rates and coverage more carefully. You want to make certain you get the protection you pay for without overpaying simply because you can. Don't let you car insurance company hold you hostage for premiums when it only takes a few minutes to find other rates. If you find even a savings, it becomes even larger when you consider the amount of pretax dollars you'd have to make to pay that difference.

Take a look at the coverage you currently have and the premiums you pay and compare them to the plans offered by other insurance companies. Try to compare the rates for the same or more extensive coverage from other companies. During the process of comparing prices and coverage, you might find better coverage and/or lower deductibles for your Audi.

However, you should not cheap out on liability coverage in order to save a little on your Audi car insurance. As someone who drives a costly automobile, you are a more likely target for lawsuits if you are involved in an accident. When you compare insurance take a look at how much it will cost you to increase your liability limits - in many cases the additional limits cost very little in comparison to how much they could save you in the event of a collision.

The record of losses at insurance companies is one reason that Audi car insurance can differ so much in price from one insurer to the next. An insurer which has had to pay out a large number of claims will tend to compensate by raising premiums, often across the board. If you are trying to save money on your insurance, you certainly do not want to have to pay more because your insurer has made poor choices.

It is easy to compare the rates for auto insurance from different companies online. There are a number of websites which allow you to enter your information once and receive quotes from several different insurers - which can save you hours of time compared to calling around for quotes.

Using these websites to comparison shop for insurance saves you a great deal of time and can help you to save a lot of money on your insurance costs as well. You also will not have to deal with insurance agents trying to sell you insurance you do not want or need while they have you on the phone. Shopping for insurance online also allows you to look for the best rates any time of night or day.

Audi car insurance can be pricy; and it is well worth it to look for a better deal. There are many insurance companies who offer discounts to drivers who use safety devices and theft protection equipment on their vehicles. Check for any discounts which may be applicable to you before you make your purchase.

You can save a lot of money on your Audi car insurance by simply taking a little of your time to compare prices. Consumer advocates say that every motorist should look at what other insurance companies are offering every couple of years to make sure that they are not paying more for their insurance than they need to. If you drive a luxury car, this is especially true. You may be paying too much to insure your Audi, but you do not have to.

By Liz Tanner

Many things affect our life in different ways. Death is imminent and we can't do anything to avoid it. Considering this, we must make sure that our loved ones will manage to continue their lives in a decent way even after we die. life insurance is a policy that provides financial protection to your family after you die or in case of an accident or illness.

Life insurance represents an additional income and an efficient means of protection, both for you and your family members. Signing such a contract brings many benefits: financial independence for kids, the possibility to have financial support in case of unpleasant events, financial and psychological comfort. Any individual may benefit from a life insurance.

When the insured person dies, his family will receive a compensatory income, designed to maintain its living standard. Besides these features, life insurance gives financial independence to your loved ones, offering you inner peace, knowing that whatever happens, the family members are protected.

Who needs a life insurance? If someone depends financially on you, most likely you need life insurance. It will cover the needs of your family when you'll die. Just imagine the following situation: if you die tomorrow what will happen to your loved ones? It is true that pain can be cured with money, but at least your family won't suffer because of its financial situation.

Insurance companies usually cover the risk of death. Besides you, you will benefit from other advantages, the insurance policy covering a wider range of risks, assessed depending on several factors: health, gender and age, etc. You must search for information before signing the contract. Opt for a company that offers multiple benefits for a low price. Keep in mind that it's important to have a life insurance that covers the risk of permanent disability (in this case, the policyholder receives an amount of money for this type of risk), the risk of hospitalization and surgery, the risk of accident, etc.

Terms and conditions of a life insurance contract may differ from company to company and from product to product. In general, the contract contains informtion about insured risks, exceptions, fees and commissions, suspension or termination of the contract, etc. When you read the life insurance contract, make sure you understand which events are insured (death, disability, survival, etc.); also, read carefully all the terms specified, because some situations are not covered by the insurance policy (exceptions).

Get a professional opinion, asking for the advice of an attorney. Keep in mind that a sales person may take advantage of your lack of knowledge. It's not only about you' we're talking about the future of your loved ones.

Commercial Auto Insurance Policies

By Susan Reynolds

There's a lot of things for parents to worry about when their kids start growing up. One that most of you may not think about, however, is the negative impact a simple pizza delivery job can have on acquiring a good auto insurance policy. In fact, many insurance companies are more reluctant to insure delivery drivers, and you'll want to take steps to work around that as much as possible.

Pizza Delivery Drivers aren't covered by automobile insurance companies. Surely you recall all of the information you had to enter into the forms on your first insurance policy. The extensive questions, about everything it seemed, felt invasive and intrusive. Why would an insurer want to know everything about how and when you used your car before they would even agree to give you a price quote? Actually, they need to know a lot about where, when and how much you're on the road. More time and more miles on the road mean the driver is more likely to be involved in an accident and for the company that means paying out for claims. You got it, more claims mean higher insurance rates.

So, for example, if your teen is out driving the family car for a delivery job during rush hour frequently, your insurance company more likely than not will sidestep far away from covering any potential accidents with great haste. If you're unlucky, you could be looking at dealing with thousands of bucks out of pocket for repairs or covering damages. No one wants to be in that kind of situation! So, what can you do about it, if companies are so unwilling to provide coverage in this situation? Well, you're not completely helpless.

There's An Alternative-A Commercial Auto Insurance Policy It's a terrible idea to just hand your child the car keys and wish them a good day at work. There's a lot more information you need to know, both as a parent and the owner of the vehicle. What kind of insurance does the employer carry or offer to broker? The ownership of companies that hire drivers for delivery are legally required to carry coverage that protects them during working hours. Sometimes they have company cars that may only be used for company business during work hours, that way the insurance rates can be managed.

Also available to companies is a "non-owned auto insurance policy". That way the employee has full liability coverage when delivering on company time. But it does not cover damages to your vehicle, that's why if your child is going to be delivering, pizza or whatever, you need to talk to your own insurance company and see what you can do to protect your teen and your vehicle.

To do this you might be forced to buy a commercial auto insurance policy. The cost of commercial auto insurance might make you flinch at first, but remember-it's going to cost a lot less to insure your car than it is to fix it. And if you're very lucky, your teen isn't going to be delivering pizzas forever! To go about this however, it may require you to get a commercial auto insurance policy. This is unfortunately not the cheapest around, but bear in mind that in comparison to damages to your car should anything happen, the cost is very reasonable (and worth it!). Let?s hope your teenager doesn?t decide on pursuing the pizza delivery career on a permanent basis though!

Health Insurance Makes Financial Sense: Fantastic Advice

By Dawn Enstruthe

Introduction-Health insurance is a scheme designed to pay the medical bills of in individual or a group of people. Social programs falling under the purview of the Government, or private insurance companies, issue Health Insurance Policies in favor of a person or group of persons.

Many companies adopt the health insurance scheme with the dual intention of benefiting their employees and simultaneously reducing their liability of excessive medical costs if their employees happen to require Medicare at some later date. The broad umbrella of health care insurance has long Term Nursing, Custodial Care and Disability Care, all under it.

Employers favor the group health insurance scheme for their employees to cover the risk regarding the cost of medical treatment. Disability insurance, long-term nursing or custodial care for people also come under the health insurance cover. An efficient health insurance policy takes care of regular, preventive and treatment under urgent situations along with the cost of medicines advised by doctors. There is a contract between an individual or a company and the insurance company to take the risk of medical cost against a set premium to be paid to the company every month.

Monthly premiums are paid to keep the policy live. The insured person must pay an amount from his side to be able to enjoy the advantage of the policy, which is termed as "Deductible". There may be situations which can become tricky for the person with an individual insurance cover. If he is not covered under the employer's group insurance policy, the situation possibly will not permit the individual of the policy cover to enjoy the advantage.

Premium-Based on the estimate of the risk involved, a premium or monthly payment is arrived at, which the insured has to pay regularly to keep his policy alive and in vogue. Some of the important terminologies used therein are "Deductible" i. E. Is a basic amount, which the insured must spend first before becoming eligible to draw on his rights under his policy.

The insurer must learn all the other technical terms, which are used in the health insurance sector and take care to read the conditions in the policy to avoid any regret for not having gone through the fine print carefully, at a later date.

Thus, it is prudent to take a health insurance policy which can work positively in time of peril. Just go on paying the monthly premiums regularly to enjoy peace of mind.

Car Insurance, Young Drivers And Civil Law Suits

By Jerry Dodd

It is not every day that we buy a car, and though it is a fact that car is a necessity and not a luxury any more, we do not change cars often or go for new ones at the drop of a hat. Moreover, maintaining a vehicle and an auto insurance policy and also the premiums that go with it, are no mean tasks.

Having a car insurance policy is mandatory these days in almost every state of America. Though procuring young car insurance is not easy, owing to the number of accidents caused by youngsters, and their tendency to over-speed, there are some auto insurance companies which do come forward to quote young car insurance rates.

If you have a young child who is of driving age or about to be driving age, chances are strong that they are acutely aware and ready to take a vehicle out on the road. Before this can happen, one of the key considerations is an insurance policy for the vehicle they are going to drive in their own name. To find this coverage, you will need to compare the rates and policies of different insurance companies to find one with the coverage that you need at an affordable rate for your son or daughter.

Before insurance companies will issue a policy to young drivers, they will obtain and confirm information about the vehicle, including the model, serial number and the safety features the vehicle includes. The insurance company may also ask about the educational background of your child, because students who excel academically are often given discounted rates.

In addition to the information above, the insurance company will also want to know if the young driver has a clean driving record, even though they have not been driving for very long. If there have been accidents or citations issued, they will want to know. If the driving record is clean, with no citations or accidents, the the insurance premium rate will be lower.

Even though there are many insurance companies who are reluctant to issue policies, there are some good insurance companies that are willing to do so. They are willing to do so for those young drivers who are willing to jump through all the right hoops and meet strict requirements laid out by the insurance company.

For an example, let us examine a scenario in which your child was involved in an accident. The accident was entirely the fault of the other driver, and your child had no fault at all. You may make a claim for repairs to your vehicle under the insurance policy, and the repairs will be paid per the agreement that is written in the policy.

In addition, if you do not feel that you have been adequately compensated for the damage to your vehicle, or your child suffered some minor injuries, or you have suffered mental anguish due to the accident, you still have the option to file a civil law suit. In the civil law suit, you may try to sue for damages to property or damages for injury. Law suits cost money and take lots of time, so you must be patient to see one through to the end to see justice.

Realty Financing Before Reassures All Professionals Involved

By Walter U. Pipko

Seriously in the market for a new home. In many real estate markets dwelling, land and property prices are in a slump. Its a good time for dealing on the real estate market . Its seriously a buyer's market. But that is only if you prepare ahead of time - not only for the home you ultimately long for - but also that you have mortgage financing pre arranged ahead of final or even tentative negotiations and all the challenges involved.

It can be said that there a load of difference between potential home purchasers , out on the prowl , who think that they are all set to do to sign the final documents , yet in essence they are only part of the way through the process. If you have not finished the entire process of documentation with your banking institution you are only half way there , and in no way ready to sign that really great deal or the house / home that you "must have". Half way is not there nor complete.

It is always nice to dream , and work toward your ultimate goals in life , yet "reality what a concept" will always work its way into the marketing mix , or at least come to the forefront either with a seller or their Realtor qualifying you in the sales and "offer to purchase" "dance" or at the very least from your own real-estate professional politely reminding you what your financial realities and ultimate purchase options are.

Being pre "approved in the real estate property buying and selling process is not only recommended " it serves to reassure all " seller , buyer and their professional agents that all is well , can be trusted and that the process of both sales , purchase and ultimately financing can go through in good merit and can be counted on. No one is wasting any elses process time or professional efforts.

Lastly it cannot be overstressed not to get carried away with either your own ego or up selling on the part of the seller , their agent or even your professional Realtor. Your first responsibility is both to yourself , your mental state and the financial safety and well being of your family. Always remember that first and foremost.

Honda Element 2010 Is Dog Friendly

By Cristian Truers

The Japanese automaker Honda has just cooked up a new pet friendly Element for the U.S. market. The compact crossover is well known as a go anywhere do anything kind of vehicle, the car's resilient interior allows you to play all day at the beach, store all your surf gear inside and simply hose out all the sand when you get home. Knowing how much consumers are already spending on their animals, Honda figured that the 2010 Honda Element Dog Friendly was the next logical step to winning over, over accommodating dog owners.

Starting at only $20,525, this new Element is full of features for man's best friend. The entire cargo area behind the rear seats has been transformed into a pooch's traveling palace. First of all Fido will be able to effortlessly enter and exit his new perch atop the back bumper via a very sturdy looking ramp that if wide enough could handle a wheelchair. Once inside the pup will ride on a plush foam cushion covered with a neat Dog Friendly Element print. In order to keep Rex cool Honda's Dog Friendly engineers have built in a ventilation fan and to make sure that he won't go thirsty they have come up with a trick dog bowl that ensures minimal spillage even around the hairiest of hairpins, guaranteed to keep that extra member of your family comfortable even on the longest of car rides.

The Dog Friendly Element is powered by Honda's reliable 2.4 Liter i-VTEC four cylinder engine and shifted with a five speed automatic transmission that can send power to either the front wheels or with Honda's Real Time 4WD power all four. The only thing left for Honda to install is a video monitor so that the passengers can check on the family pet while he is riding in his kennel on wheels. If you have any doubts about how safe this setup is you can rest assured that Honda has chosen the Takata Corporation to design the whole thing. Now you might be asking why is that name so familiar, if you have ever seen a racecar driver strapped in with a really cool looking green racing harness, those are Takatas.

The Honda Element lineup expands for the 2010 model year with an all-new "Dog Friendly" pet accommodation system designed to improve safety, comfort and convenience for dogs and their owners alike, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today. The 2010 Honda Element arrives at dealerships nationwide by mid-October. The Dog Friendly Element is set to become available on November 16.

"The Honda Element has long been recognized as an accommodating vehicle for people with active lifestyles involving sports and hobbies," said Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of Product Planning for American Honda. "The new Dog Friendly Element takes that concept to a whole new level with specially designed features for dogs and their owners."

Engineered to integrate with factory precision into the Element EX, the Dog Friendly equipment is intended to accommodate the secure transportation of a dog in the cargo area within a nylon-webbed car kennel. In daily operation the car kennel helps prevent a dog from interfering with the driver in traffic by keeping the pet properly restrained and out of reach of the driver. In the event of a frontal collision, the kennel is intended to help restrain the dog behind the rear seats, reducing the chance for the pet to be injured - or to injure human occupants during a crash.

The Dog Friendly equipment enhances pet comfort by providing a soft floor surface for the dog's legs and paws along with a dedicated fan and a s--resistant water source. Convenience is improved for owners with an integrated ramp, easy to clean surfaces and a full suite of matching Dog Friendly accoutrements.

The Tribulations Related To Teenage Driving

By Nathan Lewit

Teenage driving cause huge problems for for parents worldwide as there are many incidents of teen mishaps and fatalities on the road of teenage driving. The necessary thing here to do is to try and understand the reasons for these accidents and bring in the necessary changes to prevent such mishaps in the future. The areas to focus on would be the reduction in risk exposure, modification of risk taking ability, and providing sufficient education to the teenager to improve their driving skills.

The solution doesn't lie in changing the driving age from 16 to 18 years. This will only have an influence on the Automobile Industry and service sectors linked to it leading to job losses. There will be a large decrease in revenue for all the companies in the Automobile industry or service sectors linked to it. It will only create a problem for manufacturers, gas companies, insurance agents, and driving instructors.

The lack of maturity and skills in the teenager along with the risk taking behavior has been the main reason for such accidents. The teens also show lack of discipline while following safety rules. Thus it becomes necessary to train teenagers about all the road and safety rules and make them used to adhering to these rules. The keys to the car should only be given by the parent when the child avoids risk taking behavior and obtains the required driving skills.

Drunken driving, not wearing seat belts, distractions on the road, and late night driving have been the reasons for teen mishaps on the road. Most of the teen fatalities tend to occur between 6 PM to 6AM mainly on Fridays and weekends.

The safety rules are not followed by the teenagers in a proper manner. They don't drive with their parent or instructor for the first three months after getting their driving license, avoid driving at midnight except for some purposeful reason, avoid usage of gadgets like phones, and wear seat belts. The lack of discipline and non-adherence to safety rules has been a major reason for teen accidents.

In order to reduce risk for their teen children the parents should also be a part of their driving skills learning program. The parents should partner with their child to teach them defensive driving techniques and driver safety rules. The parent should also share their own driving experiences with their children. This will help them become more mature and prepared to handle any adverse situations.

The risk taking behavior of the teenager also requires modification. It is an important job for the parents to understand the reasons that could make their child take certain risks which could prove fatal. Then a plan should be prepared to analyze the behavior of the child and make them aware of the ramification for these actions. It should be noted that a teenager's body develops many changes during these growing years and the hormonal activities of the body can influence certain unwanted decisions. So it is important to make the teenager aware of the problems that they might face if they take such risks and try to modify their behavior.

It is important for teenagers to join the best driver education program. The onus lies on the parents to make their children join an authorized and certified driver education program which can help them develop their driving skills. The quality of the program and instructors approach is important for helping the teenager grasp the required driving knowledge. It is important to monitor the progress of the teenager on a daily basis. It is important to explain to the teenager that the driver program is just the beginning of their learning curve to become an expert driver.

Potentials And Capacities Of Personal Injury Lawyers

By David Halbert

A personal injury lawyer legally represents the claim of his client for personal injury or loss, occurred due to the negligence or malfunction of another person, product, or organisation. Personal injury lawyers work in accordance with the torte law, which is based upon civil liberty rights against civil wrongs, financial, physical, social, emotional, and psychological damages to a person.

These lawyers perform their work according to the torte law, which is based on civil independence rights in opposition to civil wrongs, fiscal, corporeal, communal, emotional, and psychosomatic damages to an individual.

Personal injury lawyers should display all the persuasive qualities of an unbeaten lawyer. The leading potential of a personal injury lawyer is his talent to see through the issue at hand carefully. He actually needs to have a deep eye to look into the litigation case so that he is able to come up with the fundamental evidence required, in order to establish the case. He has to look into the case thoroughly from all the angles to organise his points of view, and finally, construct a strong case, with utmost chances of winning it.

He should be well-versed in the art of negotiating, arguing, appealing in court with strong communication, and organisational skills along with thorough knowledge of the litigation law. If he is persuasive enough to plead his point to the judge, jury, or the opposing counsel, he shall be able to win the case.

The courageous attitude of the lawyer depicts his command on the profession as well as the prospect of the case of his client. The lawyer should be well-versed in explaining the whole situation, negotiation, and appealing in the court with strapping organisational, and communication skills with comprehensive information of the proceedings law.

Everyday, millions of people seek the help of personal injury lawyers to compensate for the damages, the wrongdoings or the accidents in different cases. Sometimes, the victims of personal injury demand justice and compensation not only for the economic loss incurred upon them, but also for the subtle and long-term damages made to their social or professional reputation; for example, in cases of sexual harassment, accidents causing emotional traumas and psychological stress. In all these cases, the expertise, knowledge, and experience in the relevant field are tested on new standards each time.

The capacities of personal injury lawyers are a few but vital. Civil litigation complaints are usually about work injuries, medical malpractices, automobile and road accidents, defected products, product liabilities, wrongful deaths etc. Personal injury lawyers may choose to work in a specialised area of litigation within personal injury law; for instance, he might only like to work for cases regarding medical mistakes. If he successfully handles a number of such cases, he would be considered a specialist in this field. It is also quite probable that he limits his scope in his profession by not exploring other fields in litigation law.

The success of a litigation case highly depends upon the availability of the evidence. A personal injury lawyer might take the chance of taking a case with weak evidence. It is thus, not in the capacity of a personal injury lawyer to win the case. The choice of taking up a litigation case is up to the personal injury lawyer, if he is working independently. However, if he is working for a law firm, it is not in his capacity to take up a litigation case without the approval of his law firm.

How To Make A Car Donation!

By DR Truter

As long as your local church organization is an IRS recognized non-profit organization, there is no problem making a car donation and getting a tax benefit at the same time. Chances are you have probably heard that your local church needs to raise fund for a free meals drive, or that your local priest, pastor, or deacon needs a car to preach and invite more people to attend church. If so, why not make a car donation?

It is more tangible to make a donation to an institution that you are a part of or at least close to than favoring an unknown. For one thing, you will definitely know if your contribution made a difference, or whether it was put to good use. Since the charity is more special to you, an honest evaluation of the car you are offering is a necessity. The attribute of your philanthropic offering is equal only the quality of the vehicle in question. A car that's worth nothing will not be of use to your favorite charity.

The benefit of knowing the charity closely is that paper work will be a breeze. Car donation can sometimes be taxing if you are dealing with a difficult institution. Your tax write off is dependent on the amount of speed at which a charity can process paper works because the IRS only gives 30 days from the date of donation for the tax write off to be considered. Being a member of the organization could give you a higher fair market value, because you can arrange the contribution through the church and so you will not have to pay gift taxes. More current market price means more tax deduction and more donation amount.

Your bequest will only be put into a meals program if the institution you donated it to has this kind of agenda. Do not hesititate to ask the person in charge the kinds of goals the charity have. If you and your chosen charity cannot agree on a specific set of goals, then move on and look for others.

A car title is a strict requirement for donating a car. Prepare the 1040 form and fill up schedule A. The amount of deduction is limited to 50% of the already adjusted gross amount of your income. The write off is based on the cost at which the charity sold your car (if more $500), or the fair market value if the car is less than $500.

Do not forget to take note of the location at which you donated your car, the charity and its address, the condition of your car, and the contemporaneous written acknowledgement of your contribution. All these, are needed for you to avail of the tax deduction. You have to submit all of these requirements at an IRS Specified deadline or else you cannot get a write off.

It is important to keep a second copy for your file, just in case. The great thing about all this is that the IRS actually has a number of hotlines ready to answer any questions you may have. Aside from that, an online list of charitable institutions, rules and regulations, and guidelines on how to determine the amount of your deductible are also available. No good deed goes unpaid. In this case not only do you help others, you also help yourself. Don't be deterred by all the requirements for car donation, rules and regulations are there to benefit you. After all would you want unscrupulous people using donation to meet dishonest ends?Read more about business car insurance when you want to read more related articles.

Florida Teen Car Insurance -- Safety And Lower Rates

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

Statistics for teen drivers in Florida are far from good. Their crash record is so high that many parents will show a preference for keeping them from driving within their teen years. Most parents can only succeed in keeping them back for only so long.

It could have very negative impact on a kid to be the only one among peers who has been deprived of what is considered a right. So what can you do to both ensure your teen driver safer and bring down the usually high car insurance premium they get? This piece will show you how...

Car Insurance For Teenagers

Most teens will prove to you they are grown-ups once it has to do with privileges. However, insist that they bear the responsibilities that come with the privilege or at least a part of it.

Make them pay their auto insurance premium themselves or at least contribute a sizeable chunk. You'll discover that making them to take steps that will make them lower their rates will be easier after you do this.

Your teen driver would be safer and ultimately attract lower rates for their Florida car insurance policy if they do the following...

1) Let them never drive in company of fellow teens or kids unless there is a responsible adult in the car.

2) Make sure your teen promises never to drive at night. And, where it becomes inevitable, go over things they must bear in mind.

Most accidents happen between 9.00pm and 2.00am.

3) If they drink then they must not drive. Take note that to be on the safe side they should know that they are not allowed to drive if they take so much as a sip of alcoholic beverage.

4) Let it be ingrained in your teenager that they are not on a race track even when they are on the highway.

Have a stiff sanction if they violate speed limits or traffic laws.

5) Encourage your teen to tell you wherever they want to drive to and know in whose company it will be if any. If you feel it's not in their best interest, advise them to use a cab instead.

Yes, these may not work in homes where the parents and teens don't have a good relationship already. However, whether you do have or don't have such, here's something that will surely help you get cheap auto insurance for your teen: Getting and comparing quotes from a wide range of insurers.

Why Is Petrol Cheaper Than Diesel?

By Wayne Truter

History has it that the gasoline prices have been higher than the diesel fuel prices. But then again, this does not always hold true. During some winters, the demand for distillate heating oil increases which also raises the price of diesel fuel?so much so that is becomes more expensive than gasoline.

In the United States since September 2004, the price of diesel fuel has been by and large higher than the price of gasoline all year round and this is due to numerous reasons. The worldwide steady increase of demand for diesel fuel and other distillate fuel oils has put pressure on the tight global refining capacity?more so with the strong demand of such products in China, Europe, and the United States. The transition from low sulfur diesel (LSD) fuel to ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuel in the United States has affected the diesel fuel production and distribution costs. This is due to the new Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards for diesel fuel sulfur content.

The concept of water being used as fuel is simple. You will be using Hydrogen gas or H2 gas instead of diesel fuel or gasoline. Right now, technology still doesn't permit us to utilize 100% Hydrogen gas on a car. It is usually mixed with a little bit of diesel, but still it reduces the money you'll have to pay for diesel fuel. When you use the hybrid of diesel and hydrogen gas in your car, your car runs efficiently and it will get you to where you need to go.

How does water fuel come about? Here's a quick look at the science behind this amazing piece of technology. Electrolysis is the process by which water is converted to usable hydrogen gas. The device that initiates the electrolysis gets its power from the car's battery -- the circuit is fired up and hydrogen gas is ready to go. The gas is then released into the engine's air intake system where it travels through the combustion chambers and mixes with a little bit of diesel. This economical mixture of hydrogen gas and diesel makes for a perfect combination that maximizes the car's mileage and saves you gas money which is essentially the whole point of using alternative fuels.

You may think that there will be some complicated mumbo jumbo that you need to figure out before your car can run on water, but it's really easy to set up. Just make a visit to the hardware store, get all the things you need, come back home, get on the internet, and search for step by step instructions. That's basically all you need to do to save on gas money. Soon enough you'll see your savings skyrocket as high as the diesel fuel prices themselves. And will this fuel prices ever effect our car insurance estimates, if fuel goes up our insurances must come down.

Georgia Auto Insurance -- An Unavoidable Evil?

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

If you want to drive in nearly all countries it's compulsory that you buy a type of insurance coverage. This might create the wrong idea that auto insurance is only important because doing the contrary would be flouting the law -- That is not the case.

Nothing can be more harmful to anyone than buying a car insurance policy with such a wrong mindset. It's unfortunate that most folks do just that. Such folks don't check for their real auto insurance needs. They just request for enough to get by.

Cheap Car Insurance Quote

You know what happens sometimes in life: Something suddenly occurs and they now understand that they should have bought a more extensive coverage. For the lucky folks, it may just be the loss of their vehicle or other valuables related to their vehicle. If you think it iswrong, what about those who end up losing all they have due to damages confered to people affected when they are at fault in an accident.

Painful as this may look, it could happen to anybody who doesn't protect him/herself. So before you begin to explain the wisdom behind getting the barest minimum (Even questioning why you must be compelled to take auto insurance at all), ask yourself a few questions.

Apart from those who are totally immune to losses or accidents, auto insurance isn't just something that is to be done to fulfill the requirements of the law. It is something you must do for your own good.

Getting the right insurance coverage would have been a non-debatable issue if it could be done without money. I have realized that most cases on car insurance are hinged on the high rate associated with many extensive policies. Here's the next best time: Getting you massive savings that could be as high as two thousand dollars and more sometimes. You can take advantage of these quotes sites for massive savings.

Save On Home Insurance 5 Ways

By Vic Shallow

What steps can you take to keep home insurance premiums down? This article will examine a recent increase in home insurance costs, And what is causing the increase.

A dramatic increase in the severity of natural disasters is one contributing factor. More than $100 billion in catastrophe-related losses have been paid by insurers. An average of about $700 million per month since 1990. In addition to such well-known events as Hurricane Andrew, many smaller disasters have occurred such as wildfires, storms, ice, etc. Virtually every part of the country is at risk for a billion dollar disaster.

Construction costs have seen sharp increases which are impacting insurance premiums. The average homeowner probably needs to carry additional coverage to cover the cost of replacing his or her home due to these increases. In fact, some 45 million U.S. homes are reportedly underinsured.

Mold and water damage are yet another cost factor in rising insurance premiums. Though water damage and mold in homes is nothing new, the public is more anxious about this issue because of recent high profile lawsuits and insurance claims. Before they're overwhelmed by claims related to water damage; Insurance companies are taking steps to limit coverage. Premiums have already risen to cover the increasing number of mold claims.

Here are 5 ways to save money on premiums.

1. Buy Your Home and Auto Policies From The Same Insurer

Discounts are available from some companies who sell homeowners, auto, and liability coverage. Discounts can be as much as 5 to 15 percent if you buy two or more policies from the same insurer.

2. Improve Your Home Security

By installing a burglar alarm, smoke detector , or dead-bolt locks ,you can qualify for discounts of at least 5 percent.

3. Raising Your Deductible

You could save 15 to 30 percent or more by raising the deductible on your homeowners insurance. Keep in mind that if you raise your deductible you'll have more out of pocket expense in the event of a disaster. Weigh the options.

4. Protect Your Family From Fire

By installing a sprinkler system and a fire and burglar alarm that signals the police, fire department, and other monitoring stations, you can qualify for savings of 15 to 20 percent on your premium. Find out what kind your insurer recommends, not every system qualifies for a discount. Find out how much the device costs, and how much you will save on premiums. Once you know how much you'll save you can decide if it's worth the cost to install the system. Remember You'll also be protecting your home and your family.

5. No Smoking

You could qualify for an additional discount, i f nobody in your household smokes. Let your insurance company know if your home is smoke free.

Following these ideas could save you a substantial amount of money. There can be a big difference from one insurer to the next, so always comparison shop. Get quotes from several companies.

The Economic Effects of Unemployment Insurance in Canada

By Adriana Noton

It is undeniable that the current state of the Canadian economy is grim. Unemployment rates are at unprecedented highs and the labour market is at an all time low. During times of economic uncertainty and general unease about the market, social programs experience particular scrutiny and pressure.

Canadian Unemployment Insurance

Unlike the United States, where federal unemployment programs are run at the state level, the Canadian unemployment system is exclusively federal. The Canadian insurance policy is financed directly by employers' and employees' contributions. Up until 1991, general federal revenues also supplemented these contributions. The program is highly regional in that it provides for greater support in terms of duration of benefits and qualification periods to areas that suffer from higher unemployment.

Traditionally, unemployment insurance programs in Canada were designed to serve as a broad instrument of income supplementation that would sustain small communities and protect traditional occupations from forces of economic modernization. Those smaller communities with more traditional lifestyles happen to also be within the regions that see more support from the federal unemployment system.

Since the 1980's, Canadian unemployment insurance programs have seen several different types of cuts, including duration of benefits, qualification periods, and amounts awarded. The government has withdrawn significant resources from these programs. These cutbacks have tended to hit harder in more affluent regions, while areas with higher unemployment still enjoy nearly the same levels of unemployment support.

Today's Effects on the Canadian Economy

The combination of reduced benefits and the greater dependence on unemployment by the masses are culminating in an interesting end result. Since unemployment is up across all regions, the effect is greater economic fragmentation. We are seeing that smaller and poorer communities continue to uphold more traditional occupations and ways of life, arguably held up by strengthened support from federal social programs. On the other hand, the increasing level of unemployment throughout more affluent regions has created a mad scramble for more modernized industrialization.

EI's New Pilot Programs

The Canadian government realizes that adjustments need to be made to the overall system. In 2008, it launched a series of unemployment insurance pilot programs to test different methods. The Working While on Claim project incentivizes the acceptance of all types of work while on EI benefits. The New Entrant/Re-entrant project is testing whether enabling new or newly returned members of the labour market to receive benefits quicker (along with providing greater awareness about the program) can reduce the individual's future reliance on EI benefits. The Best of 14 Weeks project is testing a method to make EI benefit levels more closely tied to full-time work earnings for individuals with irregular work patterns, (such as freelancers and seasonal workers) and to convince workers to accept any and all available work by formulating their EI benefits based on the "best 14 weeks" of earnings over the 52 weeks prior to filing their initial claim.

These pilot programs inspire hope for improvement and more positive effects of the system on the greater Canadian economy.

Choosing The Right Health Place For My Family

By J. D Theis

Health insurance plays a very important role in our lives today. The costs of medical care are raising everyday. People are also beginning to take their health very seriously. Gone are the lifestyles where people used to let their health suffer. Today a lot of time, money and effort go into staying fit and healthy. People also want to make sure they are protected in case of unforeseen illnesses or accidents. This is the reason medical insurance companies are increasing everyday.

The important thing would be to take a decision regarding which health plan one should choose for themselves and their loved ones. The number of quotes available online can easily overwhelm a person. However, careful evaluation of each of these quotes will help you understand them and pick the right one for you.

Most of the people are able to get great health plans through their employers. There are many employer sponsored health plans that fit the employee's bill perfectly. However, there are many employers with plans that are not great either. The insurance premiums might be too high. This might result in you paying higher premiums that you would have if you had got individual insurance policies.

The first and the most important step would also be the most basic one. Go through different quotes and buy the one that is cheapest. You do not have to go right to the bottom for this. Many companies that are not good enough will offer you insurance for unbelievably low rates. Get insurance that seems reasonable and cheap to you.

The biggest challenge in getting a family health plan would the fact that it is so dependant on each and every person's medical history. In insurance lingo, this is known as pre existing conditions. This is any kind of serious or major illness that a family member might have been treated for in the past, before applying for the medical insurance. Insurance companies have varying rules regarding treatment of such pre existing condition. Many companies have a waiting period before a member can be treated for such a condition.

Consider the future plans of your family while choosing a health insurance plan for your family. If you need the services of a specialist often, you are better off with the PPO plan. This gives you the freedom to visit the specialist directly. Get a lot of second opinions as well regarding your health insurance plan. This will always help you take a good decision.

A Brief Guide To Health Insurance

By Jackie McKenzie

With non-public healthcare you're in charge. Dependent on the extent of cover which you make a decision you are able decide the hospital you prefer to be treated in. This implies it's one which is convenient to you plus suits your family's needs.

You'll get much faster access to a specialist than you'd if you joined the NHS queue plus if you would like treatment you don't have to worry regarding laying out big sums of money for treatment. It's amazing simply how much you'd have to pay for even easy procedures if you selected to go privately without the back-from health insurance.

The standard of care and accommodation is basically good-class. Patients just wouldn't choose to be treated there if this wasn't the case plus word soon gets around if people are not impressed with something. Normally you're nursed in private rooms with good standards of cleanliness and the overall rooms and meals are hotel standard. If specialised medication are component of your suggested treatment then you'll receive them - whereas in the NHS system there are mostly rationing issues and often it depends in that space you reside on the medicine you are able obtain.

NHS waiting times vary depending on the space you are in but it isn't uncommon for them to be up to eighteen weeks. Those with private medical are seen, treated, recovered plus have almost forgotten about it every one in which time. Time matters when you're leading a busy life and if the condition is worrying you, then by seeing a specialist and finding precisely what the position is, you will have the protection of knowing that you'll be diagnosed during the shortest potential time.

There are various options when it involves the sort of arrange you choose. There's individual or family cover and you are able choose from budget plans thru to an entire comprehensive policy. You can select to pay to a specific point, say for out-patient or diagnostic treatment, but to be coated should you would like extra in-patient or operative care. If you make a decision to get your treatment at the terribly good private hospitals, then you are able expect to pay the top prices for your policy.

There are other paths of keeping the cost below control. If you limited the option of hospitals or agreed that some of the claim would be met by you this might result in a reduction during the premium. No-claims bonuses are offered by some insurers.

Private health insurance does not mean that you may never need to use the NHS. They're still there to offer the emergency service when an individual is suddenly taken sick or has an accident. Beyond these situations, however,, the non-public health system can get you the care which you want far more promptly and you are able to select when plus where you receive this.

When you first apply for medical insurance, it's quite usual for the insurer to ask yourself for details of your medical history. It's actually important that you are totally open with them on this matter, disclosing details of each one illnesses. If you happen to make a claim in the future, your doctor can be asked for additional information and if they attain you have been less than truthful within your answers, it can result in the claim being contested. If you do indeed have a medical condition that you just assume might affect your cover, don't let it deter you from asking for a quotation for insurance. It could be that the insurer can exclude that condition from your cover or you may attain it's one thing they are not concerned about. The significant issue is that you just haven't hid anything.

Do compare health insurance quotes - don't assume they're all the same. Locate an independent adviser by going on-line and let them come up with a number of the perfect quotes for your desires - at the concession price.

The IRS would be responsible for making sure everyone has health insurance, and taxing those who are lacking insurance.

Accidents cannot always be your fault. However, one of the factors which an insurance company will look will be a good driving history. Accidents happen a lot, particularly in cities with a high amount of traffic; often, if people don't know all the rules of that particular city, or are visiting, they can get in trouble. It doesn't help matters that many are tourists who aren't used to driving there and don't know the roads.

Van Insurance - Getting Insurance if Your Under 25!

By Rob Mcleary

UK van insurance for under 25's do go higher than normal insurance policies and you will have to look a lot harder than most to find the sensible best rates. Insurance rates for under 25's are more costly, because there is extra risks that are also covered ion this age group. It is best to study online to find out more about different packages for younger people. A small amount of insurance companies will not insure under 25's and for those who do will charge an arm and a leg.

One of the main reasons why van insurance under 25 costs more is because there are more accidents with young drivers at the wheel as, unfortunately, they tend to speed and some are just reckless but they are also considered less experienced than most older, mature people who drive. It is perceived that a young person will not have the same control over his vehicle, like a driver who has years of experience. Whatever the cost however, it is a legal requirement to have insurance. The good thing is that if you are a careful driver (and a lot of young people are) then your premium will fall year on year as you gain credibility in the eyes of your insurers.

When looking for van insurance under 25, the insurance company will take into account the type of vehicle you own, or are planning to drive. You must take this into consideration when buying your vehicle. It really can make a big difference on the rate of cover you will be paying. Choosing a van as the vehicle of your choice, will make your insurance rates a lot lower than a sporty car. The risks are considerable lower.

You may have chosen a van as you are going to use it for business purposes, if this is the case, you must make sure you disclose this to your insurance provider to ensure you are properly covered. Failure to do so could result in your insurer refusing to pay out if you do need to make a claim.

It is worth remembering that in general older vans will carry a higher insurance premium than newer models. This is generally down to the security of the vehicle. Newer vehicles tend to have more sophisticated alarm systems and immobilisers. Most young people start off with older vehicles as this is usually all they can afford, it is worth it however, if you can get a vehicle as young as you can possibly afford without having to sacrifice all the beer money. It should mean you will pay less for van insurance and in theory at least, you should have less repairs and maintenance to pay for. Another important thing to remember is that if you modify your van in any way, you must declare this to you insurer.

If you go online you will be able to check up many companies for van insurance quotes. It would take a while and just add more pounds to your phone bill if you where to give them a call doing online is absolutely free and could get information, compare prices and get the benefits before making the decision on the cover that suits you. Why not ask friends, family or neighbours that are ages with you to find out what provider they are with.

The Strange Fact about Car Insurance Quotes

By Ryan Parker

There is something very fishy going on in the car insurance industry of late. A recent study by a insurance watchdog organization found that of all the different types of insurance products available, car insurance products have the greatest price variance given the same set of variables. To the lay man, if you use the same set of information about your lifestyle, where you park your car, your workplace etc and use that information to get quotes for the same coverage from different companies you will get huge differences in their quotations for car insurance. Sometimes the difference between the lowest to the highest can be as much as 100%. The coverage and risk figures are exactly the same; the only thing that can account for the difference in price is how much money the insurance company wants to make off their clients.

A number of smaller insurance companies have actually decided to use this to their advantage, the have specialized in targeting consumers and offer quotes that are wildly above market rates. They will target certain consumer groups that aren't particularly savvy when it comes to car insurance needs or those who are plainly too lazy to go for other quotes and are happy to pay the premiums that are over market acceptable rates. This may also be the practice with those who have insurance agents who are supposedly working for their interests. The dodgy car insurance company will offer the agents commission that is above the norm so the insurance agent with direct their clients to their insurance company instead. The insurance agent gets more money and their clients get screwed.

The worst part about this is that the insurance firms that do this aren't exactly doing anything wrong. They are simply putting up a trap and you are willingly falling inside. There are no laws against it and even the industry watchdogs are turning a blind eye to this practice. If you actually look at it subjectively, the car insurance provider that offers a car insurance quote that is too high compared to industry standards really isn't doing a crime. It is merely a marketing profiling practice where certain consumers are just happy to pay the extra charges for the ease of not having to look around for other insurance quotations.

Being a prudent customer also calls for you to at least get a few quotes from different car insurance companies. We can certainly understand that many people are indeed busy to liaise with the different car insurance companies to obtain quotes however the benefit of doing it (lower quotations and market analysis) far outweigh any inconveniences with filling up forms and calling the insurance company to chase for quotes or verifications.

Some car insurance companies also prey on clients who are very loyal to their car insurance providers. Some people stick to their car insurance company as if there is some sort of reward program in place. This consumer group is very loyal and will stay with their insurance provider for many years. What some car insurance companies do it increase the premiums ever so slightly every year. This could be in the lines of 3-4% per year. Most of these loyal customers wouldn't mind such a small increase and simply continue with their car insurance policy with their old company. Over the years, through the magic of compounding they don't realize that their car insurance policy has gone up in costs substantially. Some of the time, their insurance costs would have escalated by as much as 50%. It is only when the poor policy holder gets another quote for their car insurance that they realize what a huge increase in price they are paying.

The morale of the story here is to be prudent not only when looking for a car insurance quote the first time, but also be prudent even if you have and existing policy. Always be on the look-out for better deals on the market. Insurance companies really have very little loyalty to their customers and you should treat them the same way that they treat you. Always be cautious of the price and keep a look-out of changes in policy that should be reflected in the pricing.

Will Lightning Strike Your House?

By Vic Shallow

Did you know that lightning kills more people than tornados and hurricanes each year. An average of 76 people die each year as lightning strikes about 270,000 times. A typical home insurance policy protects our homes from lightning damage. when you purchase comprehensive insurance with your auto policy, any damage to your vehicle is covered as well. Your health insurance will cover medical expenses in the event you or a family member were to be struck by lightning.

Lightening-related insurance claims filed by policyholders have dropped almost 11.5% since 2004. The average cost per claim however, has risen almost 70% over the past five years. Experts on insurance-related matters, blame increased claims cost on two things: Severe storms and a large increase in consumer electronics in homes.

High dollar electronics are now common place in the average houshold, which has a significant impact on insurance claims losses. While we enjoy having sound systems, computers, and high definition televisions , these expensive electronics have contributed greatly to the cost of the average lightning related claim.

While we can't control the weather, we can take steps to protect ourselves, our families and our homes from the effects of lightning. Don't underestimate the power of lightning. Instead, do your part to lower insurance rates-and keep loved ones, your home and possessions safe.

Safety Tips For You And Your Family

Try not to have contact with sinks, baths and water faucets.

Avoid windows, doors, and electrical appliances.

Use a cell phone and not a land line

When storms are approaching, go to an area of lower elevation .

Avoid solitary trees, bodies of water, open areas, hilltops, and metal objects.

Look for shelter in a nearby home or car.

Lightning protection systems, when properly installed, are approximately 99% effective in preventing potential lightning damage.

Your home's electrical system should be properly grounded.

The simplest and most effective way to protect expensive electronic equipment is to unplug them before storms approach.

To keep lightning from destroying costly electrical systems, home electronics, and starting fires, use surge protectors

A typical bolt of lightning can result in heat of up to 50,000 degrees which often results in a fire. Such fires often go unnoticed , burning in attic space or within the walls of the home. Even if there is no visible flame, if you smell smoke or sense the possibility of fire, call the fire department quickly so that they can determine whether there is an immediate hidden danger.

It is also a good idea to follow up by having a qualified electrician diagnose frayed wiring and other potential hazards as soon as possible.

Although your chances of being struck by lightning are only 1 in 600,000, being prepared can reduce those numbers and keep yourself, your family, and your home safe when lightning strikes.

Finding The Right Travel Insurance

By Susan Reynolds

Everybody would like to go for a holiday trip. Some times it becomes scary when you need help in some foreign country and nobody is there to help you. One thing that can help you in such unexpected situation is the travel insurance. Travel insurance will pay for your medical bills, in case you fall sick or get injured. It will also cover your expense if you lose your luggage, car accidents or change of travel plan due to bad weather conditions or due to ill health.

Two types of travel insurance are available. One is annual travel insurance, which is purchased once a year. This plan will cover all your trips for one year. Another one is single travel insurance in which only one single trip for which you purchased the policy will be covered.

In annual travel insurance, you pay the fee only once and it is covered for all the trips you make in that year. But the fee for annual travel insurance is higher than that of single travel insurance. Before you buy the insurance policy, you must have a clear idea in your mind whether you need annual travel insurance or single travel insurance policy.

People who travel a lot such as business professionals, people with families in other countries and people who own second homes in other countries will certainly travel enough during a year?s time to warrant the expense of an annual travel insurance policy. This type of insurance may also be of benefit to students who travel a lot while they are in school.

The advantages and disadvantages of single travel insurance policies. Single travel insurance policies are beneficial to those who travel once or twice a year. You can purchase the single travel insurance policy just before you start your journey. It is not very expensive. The cost of single travel insurance will be around seven percent of any prepaid trip.

Be careful though, because if you make a lot of spontaneous trips, in the long run the costs might add up unexpectedly. If you make those drop-of-the-hat trips too often you might find yourself spending a lot more than anticipated on travel insurance. So both types of travel insurance, annual and single trip cover the same emergency situations for your travel. The big difference between the two is cost. So really think about your situation and your plans over the next year and choose the policy that fits you intentions and lifestyle. A travel agent is a great resource for information on coverages, prices and other options. They can help you make sure you are never caught off guard or unprepared for travel emergencies by always traveling insured.

Is Individual Insurance Better Than Insurance For The Whole Family

By J. D Theis

Insurance is something which has become more of a basic need than an added advantage these days. There was a time when only people with enough expendable income used to go out and get insurance. But nowadays, it is in fact enforced in some cases such as foreign travel or education. And even in some countries, health insurance is a rule of law rather than personal choice.

But we are here to discuss the merits or demerits or having individual insurance versus insurance for the whole family. Let us first discuss the characteristics of each of the two and then decide as to which one is better.

An individual insurance plan as the name indicates is one which covers just one person. That person may be you or one of your family members. The cost of the plan might vary depending on what you require. An indemnity plan usually gives you freedom of choice but is a way lot expensive than a managed plan or HMO. A managed plan is something which is limited in its scope, but is a good trade off if you are generally a healthy person who just visits the doctor for a yearly checkup or the occasional minor illness.

A family plan is obviously more expensive than an individual plan. It all depends on the number of people covered. More the number of members covered, more is the cost. But coming to the cost per individual, it will work out cheaper than an individual plan. This is because the provider is assured of a number of members from the same family. And again, there are indemnity plans and pay per fee plans which vary in cost, scope and freedom of choice. If you do not have much to spare, then a managed plan is usually best to meet your needs. This way you will have your basic coverage but you might have to walk the extra mile to get things done. That's the way with most services which come cheap.

So coming down to which one is actually a better plan. An individual insurance plan is definitely going to be more expensive than a family plan. But if you are a single working individual, then you are not left with much choice. Even then, it makes sense to add your parents to the plan. This way you can share the costs and each individual will be paying lesser at the end of the day.

Most Common Variables Considered When Calculating Small Business Insurance Rates

By Adriana Noton

Small business use insurance in a variety of ways to protect itself from different types of loss. Whether it is loss of a key employee due to death or disability or loss of profits due to shoplifting, both of these occurrences are both measurable and insurable since they produce financial services.

The price or rating used in small business insurance is based on the type of coverage and the experience of the business. This is influenced by the risk assessment that the insurance company conducts in its underwriting process. The assessment involves a process of evaluating the type of business and the probability that loss will occur.

Insurance provides an indemnity, which is meant to restore the small business owner to their original value. Indemnity is an important concept because it means that the policy provides the small business with a way to be reimbursed or made whole relative to their loss. This is true whether talking about life or health insurance, employee benefits or for the benefit of the small business only.

Knowing the type of small business, where it is located, how profitable it is, how many employees work for the small business, are all important variables for the insurer when calculating the premium rate.

Insurance companies pool risks to determine the likelihood of a loss occurring that results in a reduction in value or risk. Risk pools or small businesses must consist of a homogenous group, such as all car dealers or all convenient storeowners. The risks associated with operating a small manufacturing firm differ from the risk to operate a small trucking company. The measurements or factors that go into rating risk take in to account the experience throughout the homogenous risk pool.

A small business owner may purchase an insurance policy indemnifying them against loss due to theft. Looking at the community experience for the risk pool associated with the small business owner, other factors come into play. A small business owner who operates a convenient store in a high crime area will pay a higher premium than a small business owner of a convenient store located in a suburban neighborhood with a lower crime rate. This rating disparity is acceptable and common among insurers if the same standard and rating is applied uniformly and does not target a specific type of business owner.

Small business insurance ratings vary based on the type of small business activity. It should be noted that to qualify for an insurance risk pool in order to purchase or transfer risk to the insurance company, the business must be engaged in a commercial activity and not be organized solely for the purpose of acquiring insurance.

Insurers are concerned about moral and physical hazards, which must be assessed relative to small businesses and small business insurance. Moral hazards are those things such as lying or filing a false report. Physical hazards can be the presence on unruly teens in the parking lot of a liquor store. Hazards in it of themselves do not cause risk but create a peril or an increase in the probability a risk occurs. A higher amount of hazards present translates into higher ratings for the small business.

Term Life Insurance Keeps Things Simple

By Vic Shallow

Term life insurance is the least complicated of the different types of life insurance, Its limits are well defined up front ,so you know just what to expect. That can be a very real comfort for those you leave behind.

It works like this

As the name implies, term life insurance lasts for a specified period of time . Usually one to 30 years. For the money, term life offers the most protection, helping to guard your loved ones against financial stress and strain in the event of your death.

You can usually buy term life insurance up until your 80th birthday. A 20 year term life insurance policy is the most popular. The premium amount is based on your health and age at the time of purchase and remains level over the term of your policy. At the end of the term you can renew but the new policy rate will be based on your health and age at the time of renewal. Since that's the case, youll want to buy a policy that keeps you covered long enough to reach your financial goals when the insurance will no longer be necessary.

Your premiums go only toward the cost of maintaining your insurance policy, with term insurance, therefore there is no cash value. It is much less expensive than other types of life insurance since there is no cash value. For example a 35 year old male, non smoker, could get $300,000 of coverage for less than $45 a month.

Some Things To Think About

It's important to decide how long you need coverage, and how much you need, when buying term life insurance. Before making your purchase think about such factors as:

Family size

Are you married or single?

How many dependents?

How much income do you have?

Youll want to leave your loved ones with the resources they need to pay your final expenses, cover the income that has been lost, pay off loans or mortgages, or pay for their education, regardless what type life insurance you buy .

One of most cost effective and reliable ways to do that is with term life insurance.

Techniques To Lower The Cost Of Your Motorcycle Insurance

By Ken Henry

Many people, especially those purchasing their first motorcycle, don't anticipate motorcycle insurance premiums that cost more than their motorcycle. Unfortunately, this is a very common occurrence. However, There are some techniques you can use to lower your insurance premium.

Let's first look at some of the factors considered when determining the cost of an insurance policy. Most of the factors they consider are relative to risk. These will most likely include things such as a rider's age, experience level, and location. While there is nothing you can do about your age, once you get through the first couple years of higher premiums, which are pretty commonplace for newer riders, your experience will begin to counter the effect of a younger age.

Where you live, and where you will be mostly riding your motorcycle will affect your risk level. This is because the increased traffic in a city poses a more substantial risk to the motorcycle rider than the streets and highways in a town or the country. Where your motorcycle will be stored when it is not in use also may be a contributing factor with some insurance companies.

The engine size of your motorcycle will play a role in your insurance premium, as will the age of your motorcycle. Many insurance companies, when offering insurance for a motorcycle with an engine rating of over 750cc's, consider these to be big bike policies. Other companies may offer policies between 750cc and 1000cc's as just another size bracket, and anything over 1000 cc's may be considered a big bike policy.

Another factor that affects your insurance premium is the distance you will ride your motorcycle each year. If it is going to be your primary transportation for the summer months, chances are your mileage will be higher. Whereas if you're only going to be going for a weekly ride with some friends, then chances are your mileage will be significantly less. The mileage accrued increases or decreases the risk respectively.

One factor that you have to negotiate with is the amount of deductible required to make an insurance claim. Many people find it beneficial to increase their deductible and therefore lower their insurance premium. This is also beneficial in the fact that you only pay the deductible when you make a claim on your insurance. Typically,if a repair will cost you less than $300 to $500 you're better to pay for it yourself than put it through your insurance anyway.

If your motorcycle has any modifications, especially performance enhancing ones, this will significantly increase your risk factor. Also, the type of motorcycle you purchase will affect the risk factor and therefore your insurance premium. A sports bike presents a far greater risk than a cruiser style bike.

The Purpose Of Auto Insurance

By Jerry Dodd

Most drivers today don't know what purpose having auto insurance holds. They often find themselves asking why its not legal to operate a vehicle without it and why it cost so much? Many people don't have a complete understanding of what auto insurance does for them. All they see is that its a way to cover monetary losses in case of an accident that isn't their fault. However, once they look into it they will see that auto insurance covers a wide rage of services that can prevent you from having a financial disaster. Some of these services include, health care, property damage on just about any vehicle, and depending on the company they might cover rental reimbursement and emergency assistance.

A comprehensive coverage can cover more than just collision and accident. They help cover you on many unexpected events. This varies with the insurer and the policy you have. They include, vandalism, theft, mischief, and even flood damage. This type of coverage benefits both the motorist and the banks when it comes to them lending out money. Most banks hold insurance on a car loan that can cover then even if the lendee loses the car in an accident or an unexpected event. The cost of the damages to the vehicle will be covered even if it doesnt involve other motorists.

GAP is a controversial coverage now being offered by some companies. This type of coverage will pay the difference on loans even if you owe more than the car is worth and the damage to the car is more that the value of the car. Most insurance companies dont do this.

Auto insurance has another purpose which is also a hidden gem. There is an uninsured motorists fee which allows all other motorists to breathe easy. This fee goes toward insurance for those who have no insurance, so that the insurance company will be able to release a check to you for your property even if another motorists did not have insurance and the accident was their fault. This adds protection for motorists everywhere, and provides a sense of security because there is simply going to be some way that your car will be able to be fixed!

Auto insurance extends its reach to everyday buisness as well, protecting buisness owners from statistics that would sometimes seem too grim to venture off into. Drivers for trucking companies, delivery companies and other transportation based businesses rely on auto insurance to make sure their job will be worth doing even with the high rate of accidents we have today.

Auto insurance can be very expensive. Having a good driving record will help you have a lower rate. So, if you want cheaper insurance, be a good and responsible driver. The high cost of insurance has helped discourage aggressive driving because no one wants to get into an accident and have to pay a higher rate of insurance.

The elimination of overspending on cars is another thing auto insurance does. Knowing that you cant afford to pay the monthly bill for these cars, causes you to not go out and buy these cars. New drivers today are more likely to go for the less expensive car. The price of auto insurance is determined by many different things like safety rating and make and model of a car. So for the drivers that just want a really fast car, they are hit with a sot of reality check.

As you can see, auto insurance serves many different purposes. Most of all, it helps ease our minds as we're driving on the road because we dont have to worry about how we're going to pay for our cars or the hospital bills if an accident may occur. So, for a nice price tag auto insurance gives us peace of mind as we drive along today roads.

Medical Insurance - Dental Insurance Basics

By J. D Theis

A dental checkup seems to be the last thing on our minds. As per the dentists advice, it is mandatory to get a dental checkup done once a year, but most of us pay no heed to it. The same attitude is carried forward when we talk about dental insurance. For most of us, the term will sound new too.

There are some myths in our mind that act as a barrier when we talk about oral health and insurance. For most of us, a dentist is the person we visit only when our tooth pain gets intolerable and at times, even leaves us with a swollen cheek. Another common myth is that any treatment to be obtained by the dentists will cost us a huge amount. Both of these have successfully created a strong impression on our mind. The fact is that oral hygiene and checkups are far more important than we consider it to be.

One must keep his mind open and understand the fact and then it is easier for us to decide on the dental insurance apt for us. Any dental problem can be extremely painful. The treatments too span across sessions and cannot be done in one go. You can opt for the dental insurance to be a part of your medical insurance policy itself. This will come at a small extra cost. This cost, though we dont realize, will turn out to be much lesser than our treatment expenses. The insurance comes with a ceiling value which constitutes the maximum amount you can spend for dental care in that year. Any amount within that value can be covered by your insurance.

There are multiple methods you can adopt to claim medical insurance. Depending on the company offering the insurance, the process will be different. Many companies will let you know when taking your insurance policy that they will pay only a fraction of the dental treatment charges. The rest however will have to come from your pocket.

In case of a health insurance, it is possible to us to avail the cashless scheme wherein the insurance company will directly pay the hospital 80% of the charges and we do not have to shell out much cash, In case of dental insurance, many companies do not offer this scheme. It is mandatory for us to pay the bill. The bill is then produced before the insurance company and the money is reimbursed.

In addition, we do not have to travel by air or trains only; we can do that through other available public transport or by sea through a ferry or a boat. Rent-a-car could be another option.

You can book your conveyance online and save money avoiding many problems. If you do it the traditional way, you will have to contact your travel agent, go to their offices and wait for your turn just to get information about flight timings and charges. Pick and drop service from the airport to the hotel will cost you even more and add to that the conveyance costs for the actual trip and it will get to a crazy total. Moreover, all this comes with the risk of not getting the conveyance you were promised or it not being available at all. This can be a huge problem.

You might think of making all the arrangements on the spot, but this will not be a very good idea. Booking tickets without reservations is not reliable and most of the times, there will be no seats available. Hiring cabs every time and moving around looks easy, but clearly not convenient. A lack of planning for your holiday can cause a lot of unwanted trouble.

Your best move would be to make all the necessary arrangements online. You can book hotel rooms, purchase air tickets, and even conveyance to move around once you get to your destination. It is fast and simple and will save you money as well. You will be able to avail discounts and other special packages being offered. Even companies taking your orders prefer it online because this way they are paid immediately. You will be able to find all kinds of interactive websites offering you the conveyance facilities and all these options will make your trip the best ever.

With online bookings, you have the advantage of getting exactly what you are looking for. Some of the websites also provide virtual tours to show you the kind of conveyance being provided for the trip. You also would not have to worry about any bargaining or overcharging, as the rates would be fixed.

Any company providing conveyance would prefer the online method compared to the traditional method. Online books and payments mean that they are saving fixed costs and all the finances are being checked and regulated free of cost due to the credit card payment system.

Using internet to make conveyance bookings is a better option for a traveler in terms of level of ease and reliability, and the company providing the services in terms of their profit margins.

Healthcare Schemes: An Assurance At An Affordable Price

By J. D Theis

Healthcare, as we all know is a very expensive field. Health issues are on the rise due to our working conditions, decreased sleep, poor eating habits and weak immune systems. People are constantly under the threat of major or minor illnesses that require expensive treatment. Healthcare schemes come as a refuge in such cases.

Healthcare schemes are designed to reduce the hospital charges. It is a simple agreement between the individual and the company wherein the individual agrees to pay a certain amount towards the policy. The company in turn assures the individual that they will bear major cost for treatment of the individual is case of hospitalization. In many schemes, this assurance is extended to the entire family, that is, to the spouse and children too.

Many companies are offering this kind of Healthcare schemes to their employees. The employees could either pay a minimal amount from their salary and avail the scheme, or opt out of it, in which case there will be no deductions from their salary. A vast majority of people find the Healthcare scheme extremely beneficial and opt for it.

There are various Healthcare schemes that cater to various needs of an individual. There are some that will cover the hospital stay, some that will cover the surgery and physicians expenses; there are yet others that will cover even the charges for physiotherapy. So it is best to first decide on the kind of scheme you want for yourself. This will help you narrow down the choices to some extent. The amount you have to pay for the policy will depend on kind of policy you select for yourself.

There are different ways in which you can claim for reimbursement. In the first case, you will have to pay for all the expenses. You will then have to produce the receipts to the insurance company that will reimburse the money to you. Another simpler method is to opt for a cashless scheme. For the cashless scheme, you will have to get an approval from the insurance company before you are hospitalized. The hospitalization charges will be borne completely by the insurance company. It has to be noted that under all these schemes, though a major part of the charges are taken care of by the insurance company, nearly 20% of the charges will have to be borne by you.

On the whole, it is a wise decision to opt for a Healthcare scheme to feel assured about your future.

Creative Way to Save Money on Health Insurance

By Mark Bradshaw

Sometimes the health insurance solution means that less is more.

You may not think that two health insurance policies can be better and cheaper than one, but give me a chance to explain. Sometimes 2 policies can be cheaper than one, and they can also provide very comprehensive coverage.

Medical Plans with a High Deductible

Consider major medical health insurance. We all know it is expensive, but a higher deductible plan can be a lot more affordable. It can also be easier to be accepted for one. And I have seen top insurers who even offer longer rate guarantees on them, and some come bundled with prescription coverage and doctor's office copay features.

A $5k to $10k yearly deductible may seem very high. But consider saving hundreds every month on your premium bills. People who get rated up, because of a health condition, may save even more. For some people, a higher deductible health insurance plan may be the only affordable option.

Accident and Health Insurance Supplements

Next, consider a supplemental illness and accident policy to fit right under your deductible. These type of plans are usually fairly inexpensive, and provide cash in case of an accident or specified major illness. You can use this cash to help defray your deductible expenses, or provide for medical expenses that your major medical policy may not cover. You may also need the cash for extra expenses like transportation or meals out while a family member is being treated for an illness or injury.

You may be able to purchase a supplemental health and accident policy as a package, or find one accident policy and one sickness policy. Sometimes health insurance comes with an association membership, and the association provides supplemental coverage for a very reasonable price!

Look for more help from a qualified agent.

Major medical insurance will be expensive for most people, but an experienced professional should listen to your needs, and then find a plan that you can afford. If you can find a professional who represents a variety of companies, you should be able to compare your options.

Low Cost Health Insurance -- Ways To Get Bigger Savings

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

Are you certain you really want more affordable rates? If answered "Yes" you need to do all within your ability to uncover as many tips as as you can find for cheaper rates. I've got enough suggestions to help most people save up to 50% on insurance...

1. If in your case it's difficult to get regular health insurance carrier because of a health condition you can make use of COBRA insurance. In case you don't know COBRA stands for Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985.

Insurance Quote

2. You can realize reasonable savings on health insurance in some states if you own a home business. States that give this opportunity have laws that make it mandatory that insurance providers offer home business owners the same rates with large businesses.

Employing just one employee makes a home business eligible for such cheap rates in several states.

You can have your spouse or grown up child to work as an employee. Moreover, you will still qualify if that single employee works only part time.

This option gives cheaper rates considering that group rates are usually cheaper than rates for individuals.

To check if your state provides such or if your home business is qualified, visit your state's department of insurance.

3. Phone med services are great services that will help lower your rates. These services offer free medical services twenty four hours everyday. They are usually operated by not less than a registered nurse with a minimum of 10 years experience so you can trust the advice you get from them. You'll also get free medical help by calling local medical clinics.

This, generally, should reduce the number of visits you make to a doctor even though it's not an alternative to doing so.

Furthermore, you get timely help that could help you take care of certain issues before they get out of hand. This is reason enough for you to take advantage of them them even if they don't help you lower your rates.

4. Making use of emergi-centers or no-appointment ambulatory care centers will help you lower your rates. This is especially so if you are always healthy and find it a little difficult to pay for traditional health insurance. They are cheaper than using an emergency room in a hospital. And, because they are beginning to become easily accessible in larger communities, you can easily get them.

5. Notwithstanding the fact that you're advised against self-medication, there are situations where you shouldn't visit a doctor. Take, for instance, a viral infection like flu. Seeing your doctor will really make no difference in your health if you understand the right right steps to take. There are simple steps you should take and if you go to the doctor you'll pay and still be given the same remedies.

So is it wise to spend close to $100 in visiting a doctor when you already know that your condition would not be helped much? This also applies to simple first aid treatment. Learn little first aid procedures. Learning a few little procedures and having a well-equipped first aid box will help you save much on avoidable visits to a doctor.

But even in those cases if you are not sure visit a doctor since it is better to lose money than to jeopardize your life. But, please, know your limits and don't forget that there are situations you must take to a doctor even if you know what to do. The law forbids you to do certain things if you're not a certified medical doctor. Having the right balance is a must in this and such cases. You will pay less on health insurance without endangering yourself or yours if you do this.

6. You can reduce your costs by taking advantage of free clinics. You will either lower your premium directly or have fewer and lower co-payments to make this way. These are good opportunities for you to get professional medical advice and have routine check up. Clinics like these are normally rendered as community service.

Your Trucks Rad and Coolant Levels Require Ongoing Attention

By Syd U. Dithers

Driving along in their vehicles - be they truck , car or van most standard homeowners or automobile owners think little of their automotive cooling system in their vehicle until either disaster or inconvenience results. It might be overheating and a major repair bill at the dealership or it be a cold drive on Alberta winter highways with no heat output from their vehicle's interior heater.

Its like brake or transmission in a vehicle - be it car , truck or SUV. Few think about their fluid levels or the last time maintenance was done on the vehicle. Add in the fact that the car or truck is second hand or used and its anyone's guess. Yet it is a simple and easy matter to check fluid levels and the protection afforded to cold weather freeze-up of the coolant fluids.

How can anyone be taught how to check the coolant level. Simply open up the engine hood when your car has been sitting for a couple of hours. Look for a coolant canister . Its the overflow bottle container and looks simply like a plastic jug. If you do not know how to open your hood - often bonnets today can be a puzzle to open - then consult the auto manual that came with the car , online , or at the worst call your factory dealer or local garage. Just have your auto make , model and year available handy. To judge fluid levels simply look on the side of the coolant overflow container. There will be a marking "cold" or "cold fluid level". Simply compare the two marks - that of the level of the fluid in the coolant container and the mark on the side of the bottle. Do you have an adequate amount ?

All in all it is the owners responsibility to ensure that coolant levels are maintained. If you as an auto owner are unsure of how to do this or the procedure then its your responsibility to assign this task and responsibility to someone knowledgeable " be it your spouse , son ,daughter or the mechanic or dealership that services your vehicle on an ongoing basis.

Most of the problems we encounter both in life and as auto owners are relatively simple and come down to basics. In this case its a matter of proper ongoing maintenance of your vehicle's cooling system. If you are unsure of the steps and procedures ask professional help . Your local mechanic , a neighbor or the service department of your local nearby car or truck dealership will be only too obliging to help you out.

Healthcare Insurance -- Use These; Save Much

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

Have you succeeded in your bid to lower your insurance costs? Have you limited yourself to a few ideas that you got a years ago? Won't you love to learn more since that will mean more massive savings? Then check if you've thought of these tips...

1. There are medicines that are established. If you buy name brand drugs, your cost will be more. But are you aware that every generic drug has the same active ingredients as its popular counterpart? Where they are free to have any difference is in the inactive ingredients.

This simply implies that what you get from brand name drugs is the same thing you get from generic drugs of the same specification. Nevertheless, discuss this with your doctor before making this decision.

Insurance Quotes

2. A Flexible Spending Account is helpful in your quest to reduce your spend. You can save tax-free dollars to cater for your health needs. The good point about this account is that it permits you to carry over unused funds into the subsequent year tax free. You can build a big reserve of money for your health care needs tax-free if you have a Flexible Spending Account.

3. Your drug cost may sometimes be cheaper than your co-pay. In some cases, it's cheaper for you to pay for a prescription without the use of your insurance. In such instances, you'll spend less by choosing the alternatives that offer you bigger savings.

Being careful enough to always check will help you make considerable savings over time.

4. Keep up a healthy routine and you'll pay more affordable rates over time. For instance, your rate will be reduced with time if you avoid junk food. Cutting off fats, cholesterol and high carb from your diet will make it easier for you to retain the ideal weight, live a healthier life and, as a consequence, attract cheaper rates.

Apart from your diet, your commitment to routine exercise will help you live a healthier life and likewise get you cheaper rates.

5. In the majority of cases, your routine medical check ups won't cost you a dime more since most health insurance plans would likely have up to two complimentary medical check ups for you each year.

Why do check-ups lead to savings?

Since health conditions are spotted at their early stages by doing these check ups, they are more easily treated without much expense. It costs your insurer less to do this than to treat diseases when they'll cost a lot more..

And, anything that makes your insurer spend less on you makes your rates lower.

6. If you take alcoholic beverage your rates will be more than a another profile that isn't a drinker. Drinking adds to your health risk.

You are aware that a good number of diseases can be traced to heavy drinking.

What quantity of alcohol can you take without any side effect? I cannot really say as there are people who can take a bottle and still be okay while some will take just a sip and things start going wrong.

But here is what I'm sure of: Quitting alcohol in its totality will do you much good. For those who cannot quit completely, do your best to drink responsibly.

It's just that for most people drinking in moderation is even more difficult than total abstinence. There are groups that are out to help heavy drinkers quit drinking. Just ask about them.

Affordable International Student Medical Insurance Policy

By Ray Sondeo

When students travel abroad to further their education, they battle not just culture shock, they are also not prepared for the high rate of medical care, especially in the United States. international student health insurance plans offer options that are especially geared toward the low-cost, low-risk student group.

Having proof of insurance is a prerequisite for enrollment in most U.S. colleges and universities. For international students (F1 visas) and their dependents (F2 visas), low-cost international student health insurance plans with a range of deductibles are available. The plans are also valid for students who have enrolled in study abroad programs in countries other than the United States.

The student can choose a plan most suited to his/her needs. There is a range of deductibles from zero to $2500, and plans can be purchased for periods ranging from 5 days to 3 years. Unless a change in situation renders the student ineligible, the plans are generally renewable until the student remains in college.

Dependents can also be insured along with the student. International student health insurance plans generally provide basic coverage such as doctor visits, hospital admission, prescription drugs, and emergency medical evacuation. Unlike visitor plans, most international student medical insurance plans cover previously existing conditions and pregnancy.

Selecting an insurance plan can be confusing for you, and to help you along, agencies which administers international student insurance plans, provides a Compare option. With this, you can view the relative merits and demerits of different plans at a glance.

If your institution has certain prerequisites for student health insurance plans, agencies can recommend plans that match your requirement. In fact, you could even save some money signing up for these plans instead of the college plan. If you think you will benefit from it, you can also add, for an extra premium, hazardous sports coverage.

To better facilitate the process, the plan can be purchased by the method that suits the applicant best - online, fax, or mail. Payment can be made using money orders, checks, credit cards, or wire transfer. For cash-strapped international students, the cashless or direct claims settlement options of international student health insurance plans are a big plus.

Your international student insurance plans are underwritten by companies such as Nationwide, Lloyd's and AIG, which are rated high by the most trusted name in insurance ratings, A.M. Best Company.

Cheap Auto Insurance -- Actions For Lower Rates

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

Some ways of reducing your rates actually compromise the quality of coverage you enjoy and so are NOT smart. You can, nevertheless, easily pay a lot less without downgrading the quality of your coverage if you have and implement the right tips. Following are recommendations that won't leave you with inadequate coverage...

1. Those who have more than one vehicle will make considerable savings if they insure them all with the same insurer. It It's advisable to insure all your cars with the same insurance company unless got a better bargain for one of your cars with another insurer. Doing some shopping and then checking with what you'll save with a multi-vehicle discount is an easy way to know for sure if this serves your best interest. But if you don't intend to shop around, you can be sure that you'll still save considerably with a multi-vehicle discount.

Cheapest Car Insurance

2. Under-25 drivers are given really high rates. But for those who find themselves within this age bracket, maintaining good grades at school will help you get more affordable rates. They call it the good student discount.

This discount is for those who get A's or a minimum of B's. This will slash off as much as five percent from your rate once you qualify. Students with excellent grades are usually seen as more responsible and less prone to recklessness behind wheels.

3. Does a child on your policy not drive the vehicle for a protracted period? Then you can get a discount for this. Don't miss this if your child is away at school. I must point out, though, that some insurance companies do not offer this discount.

4. Folks who reside in densely populated areas are more likely to encounter one form of vehicle accident or another if compared to those who reside in rural areas. Sparsely populated areas attract much better rates because they're less exposed to risks of vandalism, theft, collision and such problems that are usually associated with highly populated areas.

5. Young drivers are statistically very bad risks. More so, the younger an under-25 driver, the more they'd have to pay. That is why teenagers pay a lot more than 22-year olds.

This means that you'll help keep your rates down if you do NOT have a teen driver on your policy. You'll be made to pay very high rates if you do otherwise. Your teen driver should have his/her own policy. This will be made possible if you sign an exclusion form.

If a teen is keen on driving then then should be made responsible for at least the cost of their auto insurance. Teens who pay for their own auto insurance are more willing to take steps to bring it down. Your teen will also be safer as the steps that will bring down his/her rates will make her a more responsible behind wheels.

Cheaper Health Insurance -- Tips To Help You Get It

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

There are many ways to more affordable but adequate coverage. But at the same time, some options people employ in order to cut cost usually result in less than adequate coverage. However, in this article, I'll take you through several time-tested tips for paying less and at the same time have adequate coverage....

1. There are persons who are not eligible for special health insurance for low-income earners and at the same time are unable to afford regular health insurance. A discount medical card is a good alternative for people like that. So what is it?

This type of card gives you access to a network of doctors who have agreed to render services at lower rates to all card carriers. These cards aren't given by any health insurance company.

You can use this option if you have a medical history that has made health insurance companies either declare you uninsurable or give you a rate that is very expensive. No one is declined for any reason. You just need to pay a monthly subscription to qualify to use their network of doctors.

2. Your premium will drop if you increase your deductible. This is the amount you must pay before the insurer is obligated to pay accordingly. Therefore, make it as high as you can within easy reach.

Online Health Insurance Quote

3. A healthy routine will attract cheaper rates. If you can stop eating junk food you will save over time. It will benefit you to stick with the specified diet for you if you desire a healthy life and cheaper rates.

Apart from your diet, your commitment to regular exercise will help you live a healthier life and likewise get you lower rates.

4. More flexibility in your choice of health care providers will make it easier for you to get better rates. This is because you may have to restrict yourself to doctors and hospitals in a particular network in order to enjoy certain low rates. This might imply that you'll have to part with your favorite doctor.

It would be easier to attract better rates if you can make this kind of adjustment. Notwithstanding that you're advised to be flexible, be certain that you also choose what will be the best for you on the long run.

5. If you are the type that is hardly ever sick you'll save a lot by settling for catastrophic health insurance instead. You enjoy coverage for those health conditions or medical needs that may arise suddenly.

The most outstanding advantage of this policy is in cases where sudden ailments or accidents create huge bills that could at best be called catastrophic. The rate paid for catastrophic health insurance is really inexpensive.

What are normally high are the deductibles which can be as much as $2,000. But considering that you are getting coverage from accidents or diseases that could cost tens of thousands of dollars such deductibles are not really that high -- Relatively.

Getting The Most Out Of A Health Insurance Plan

By Bart Icles

Having health insurance is an asset. You never know when sickness might hit you. Neither would you know whether you are financially stable when a health related problem strikes. If you don't have anything to pay with, this could add even more stress to the one you are already dealing with. Investing in it would give you a peace of mind that in the event that you should need money to pay for hospital bills, you have something to depend on.

Choosing the best health insurance plan can be overwhelming. To get the most out of your insurance plan, you should get into the nitty-gritty of selecting a good one. Some factors which you have to consider are your medical personnel. If you intend on seeing a particular doctor, make sure that he or she is covered by the insurance plan that you are looking into. If you feel that sometime in the near future, you might be needing a specialist, do the same for him too.

Another important factor that you should consider when opting for a health insurance plan is to consider your pre-existing condition. Sometimes, there are health plans which do not cover a certain health condition. Although, there are also instances where they fully cover such conditions and might also cover a health condition over a specific amount of time. Another thing that you should check is to find out what rooms and hospitals are covered in your plan to maximize its benefits. So before enrolling into a health insurance plan, make sure that its coverage completely benefits you.

One more way to really get benefits from this is to avail of open enrollment health insurances. During an open enrollment, employees are given the option to choose between various kinds of insurance plans such as dental, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short and long term disability, and of course, health insurance. By availing during an open enrollment, the employee can choose to start coverage in his chosen insurance plan. Since this happens every year, it is much easier to plan with the insurance providers so that the coverage plan you avail would fall on the same date each year. By taking advantage of this kind of offer, you are more organized and more aware of the plans you have been availing.

Having a health insurance would take one thing off of your mind. A lot of plan providers have prepared different kinds of options so that you'd be able to really benefit from it. But you should also keep in mind of the catch in every offer. Don't forget that some offers are just too good to be true. You just have to be really alert and keen in choosing a health insurance plan. Opt for a plan that works for you.

How Effective Is Your Individual Insurance?

By J. D Theis

The statistics are pretty alarming, and something that is definitely of concern. It is estimated that over 14,000 Americans lose their healthcare coverage every day, but very few of them end up opting for individual coverage. Not surprisingly, most of these people are first time seekers of independent coverage and hence find it challenging to even go about with the process and getting a coverage that they can afford. It is this kind of customers that insurance companies are targeting off late, offering skimpy coverage at very low premiums in an effort to lure in more customers.

The problem with this low priced insurance coverages is that they are barely effective and are often filled with loopholes and problems that you are better off avoiding. If you actually do fall very ill, you cannot expect to get even half of the amount that you are going to be spending in recovery costs alone. Many people who want to go in for these policies do so because they dont have any other option. It is unfortunate that no one reads the fine print and really understands what all is covered by the policy and what they will need to foot on their own.

The individual insurance coverage is severely under insured and many people who opt for it are often left trying to find sources to pay their huge medical debt. Often, they end up dipping into their savings or borrowing money in order to pay off the loans.

A quick survey carried across the country reveals that most individual insurance packages, including local ones to reputed ones like All State and Aetna are all actively pushing these packages with the only aim of getting more people onboard. They are often inadequate and when a person does need to use them, the policies are not enough to pay even half of the medical bills.

Hence, when you do opt for individual coverage, ensure that your policy too doesnt leave you fuming when the time to claim does arrive. Remember that getting cheap health insurance doesnt mean not having anything to pay with later when you do need it. You have to get a policy that is going to be useful when you fall ill and not one that will leave you broke if you ever need healthcare services. As much as possible, ensure that you buy a policy that is affordable and has decent coverage, which is what matters in the end.

Health Insurance: Ways To Obtain The Cheapest Rates

By Chimezirim Gabriel Odimba

Contrary to what you might be made to believe, it is a lot easy to attract an affordable rate. You only need the right information and the resolve to implement what you'll learn to start enjoying a more affordable rate. Here are a few things that will help you get to this goal...

1. Smoking will make you pay expensive rates. Smokers are more liable to die young and are also more likely to contract many deadly diseases.

It costs health insurance companies much more to provide health insurance to smokers due to the bad risk they are to them. It is within your power to abstain from smoking and then re-apply after twelve months if your desire is to see your rates reduced by up to 50%.

Individual Health Insurance Quote Online

2. Occupations that are considered hazardous attract higher rates. Choosing a non-hazardous vocation will lower your rate by a remarkable margin. An individual who works in a nuclear plant can't get similar rates with a a salesperson in the neighborhood grocery.

3. Registering with an HMO will help lower your cost. They provide a far cheaper option than traditional health insurance. Nevertheless, joining an HMO means you are restricted to the use of only doctors, other health care professionals and hospitals that are approved by the organization.

For individuals who want limitless choices in who and where to get health care, a traditional health insurance plan is still your best bet.

All you will have to do is shop extensively for the cheap rate for normal health insurance. That is how you would be able to get cheaper rates for traditional health insurance.

But if cutting cost is priority, then go with an HMO as it's normally cheaper than traditional health insurance.

4. Married people can spend less by using one policy. Although this is true, it's not absolutely the case. So consider your options to be sure which is in your best interest.

This is because based on your details and health needs, you may be better off buying two different plans.

5. Quit drinking if you want affordable rates. Drinking adds to your health risk.

Most health conditions can be traced to drinking.

How much drinking is ok for you? Honestly, I can't say.

What I do know is that avoiding drinking totally isn't harmful to anyone. So you can lower your rates (Apart from reducing the probability of developing certain ailments) by staying away from alcohol if you can or drinking responsibly if you can't.

But I'm told it's harder to drink in moderation than it is to stay away completely. Ask for help if you want to stop drinking alcohol. There are organizations that help alcoholics quit drinking.

Challenges Involved With Individual Insurance

By J. D Theis

Many people are trying to find out more details about individual insurance options thanks to the state of the economy that has caused millions to lose their jobs. Without jobs, insurance coverage is automatically dropped and people are left to fend for themselves. Hence, there has been a rise in the number of people who are on individual insurance plans wherein the person directly opts for insurance from an insurance company and not through the corporation that they are working in. This is one of the more costly options but cannot be avoided if you have nothing else to choose from.

Individual insurance is something of a conundrum for the individual as well as the company that is providing it. For the individual, it is often a new experience. Most of the individuals are not familiar with how to go about getting the coverage and end up getting confused about the various options that they might have. Consequently, they have to seek help and try to find out the alternate options to see if there is any way in which they can get insurance without having to shell out a lot for it. This might seem like a difficult task but with some research and effort, it should be something that can be done with ease.

For the company, the challenge with individual insurance is trying to offer it at a competitive price. Since individual insurance packages are not like the group ones offered to companies, the amount of risks are substantially higher and hence, profit margins are affected. They need to find the right point wherein they can charge a certain amount for the policy but at the same time ensure that the cost is not too high for the individual. In an effort to keep the costs low, coverage is affected which is a bad thing as the individual might end up paying more for it if they do fall ill and make use of it.

Thus, the secret is to get the policy that has adequate coverage and at the same does not cost a lot. You need to ensure that you choose a policy which has agreeable terms and also is feasible in terms of features and costs.

If needed, you should take the help of an independent broker who can help you better understand the various details involved and can possibly help you choose a policy that is suited for your needs.

Health Insurance Guide for HIV Positive Men and Women

By Hubert Miles

There are many critical issues for persons with HIV trying to obtain health insurance. Although some governing bodies can step in and force carriers to offer health insurance coverage, the image is hard to shake off. Holding onto the coverage and getting claims paid will likely require you jump many hurdles.

Insurance companies are often involved in many unlawful practices, which are considerably discriminating and illegal towards HIV infected people. Some of them have been outlined below for your benefit.

Underwriting is a crucial component of all insurance carriers. It is used to determine the potential risk involved in insuring an insurance applicant. The underwriter uses the information obtained to determine if the applicant meets the companies criteria for extending the applicant a formal insurance policy. The agent who writes the policy will ask you a series of health questions approved by the State Department of Insurance. California residents are protected from an insurance company from testing blood for the presence of antibodies, which has been determined as a likely cause of AIDS.

Insurance companies can not use sexual orientation as the basis for assessing the risk level. This is a gray area that many insurance companies use by denying coverage to single males of certain age groups and living in certain locales known to be part of the gay community.

It is common for insurance companies to exclude what are deemed pre-existing conditions. These are conditions or illnesses that the applicant had before submitting the application to the insurance company. The insurance company has to right to issue the insurance policy with these conditions excluded from the policy coverage.

In case of persons infected with HIV, often the symptoms are easy to detect by the insurer being that they know what to look for and review these medical aspects on daily basis. If the insurance company suspects that a person may be HIV positive, the policy is written in such a manner to avoid claims in future if the person becomes HIV positive in the future.

To limit future liabilities, insurance carriers have used the application process as a loophole for denying claims. If a policyholder tests positive for HIV, some carriers have declined medical claims on the grounds that the policy holder did not provide accurate medical history on the application. Many state courts have ruled that the insurance companies must prove that the applicant purposely withheld information or pay the claims.

Saving Money With Individual Insurance

By J. D Theis

When we run out of luck and have no insurance covering us, it is probably time to go in for individual insurance and hope for the best. For older people, getting individual insurance is pretty challenging and something that they need to work hard for. However, with time, it is possible to ensure that you get the coverage you need without necessarily having to shell out a fortune for it. Unless you have a serious medical condition that necessitates the need for some kind of expensive insurance, you can afford to go in for an individual plan and still save a lot of money on it.

Individuals looking for insurance can go in for managed care plans. These are cost effective insurance plans which come complete with contract and a list of doctors and services that are covered with the insurance. The different types of managed care plans include health maintenance organizations (HMO) and preferred provider organization (PPO). These organizations have the drawback that only the specified doctors or services can be covered with the health insurance and you have to shell out additional money in case you want to opt for healthcare practitioners outside the network.

Although it might sound like something illegal, it is also possible to enjoy health benefits by joining some association. There are many associations out there that are involved in professions, religions, communities etc. that offer health benefits to its members. You can join one of these trade or professional associations and enjoy the health benefits that are bestowed to all of its members. Although the insurance might not be as comprehensive as the ones you get when you are working, it is still amongst the best and possibly something that you will want to have at least till you get another option or perhaps even a job.

Finally, you can even pay a visit to the health insurance broker. Many people find it perplexing to choose a health insurance plan that can suit them and perhaps help them with their situation. It is entirely possible to have an insurance broker help you out by determining what the best option for your situation is and potentially help you save money in the process as well.

Make sure that you speak to an independent broker as some companies hire brokers to have people buy insurance from them instead of opting for someone else. Although they work for a commission, the broker is guaranteed to have a better insight and help you significantly with the entire process.

How to Simplify the Process of Making an Insurance Claim

By Adriana Noton

Insurance is an important and necessary life investment. Insurance protects you against any unfortunate events that result in damage or loss. Making an insurance claim does not always mean that you will receive compensation for everything you claim. It is important to know what you are doing when you file a claim in order to receive compensation. Although insurance companies may have different requirements for filing claims, especially for different types of insurance policies, below is a list of general tips to filing a claim that will help with obtaining successful compensation.

Determine Whether You have a Valid Insurance Claim: It is important to read over your insurance policy to see what your coverage entails. Make sure you look at the "exclusion" section. You should also find out all of the requirements that you have to meet to be considered for compensation. Find out the amount of the deductible you have to pay. It is important to be aware that sometimes it will cost you less to make a repair or replacement than if you file a claim. If you have made several claims in the last few years, your insurance premiums could go up.

Contact your Insurance Provider: Contact your insurance provider shortly after the event happens. Provide your name, address, policy number, and the date and time of the event. You should also write a letter to them detailing what happened. Keep a copy of the letter. It is important that you do not delay filing your insurance claim. Most insurance providers have a toll free claim number.

Notify Appropriate Organizations: Contact any department that needs to make a report such as the police. Your insurance provider will need proof of what happened that caused you to file a claim. If you are in an accident, make sure you do not admit that you are at fault.

Gather Important information: Depending on the particular insurance claim you are filing, it is important to collect all relevant information. This can include: receipts, photographs or video of the scene of the event, an itemized list of what was lost, stolen, or destroyed, a list of witnesses, the names and badge numbers of police and emergency personnel, any expenses you sustained as a result of the event. You should write down any details as soon as possible after the event. Make sure your details are accurate and thorough. As well, make sure you get a copy of all police and medical reports.

Obtain Multiple Estimates: If you are filing a claim for damage, make sure you get three quotes of the estimate of the cost of repair. As well, check to see if the insurance provider has a list of accepted repair companies.

File the Insurance Claim: Once you have collected all of the important documents, submit your claim. Most policies have a deadline when submitting a claim so check your policy to find out your insurance provider's deadline.

An incident that causes a person to file an insurance claim can be very stressful. Knowing what to do prior to an event, will make the claims process much easier and faster.

Illinois: Cheap Health Insurance Coverage Expose

By Mike Novelli

Cheap health insurance coverage represents a lure for the 40+ millions United States citizens living without coverage. A comprehensive analysis shows that while these Illinois health plans promise to deliver, they exclude the coverage needed to cover a medical emergency situation or even pre-authorization. In reality, the consumer pays more in the end for the outrageously, cheap health insurance quote.

A small business owner of Elgin Illinois, who operated a snowplow business, a heart attack left him financially devastated. Despite his cheap health insurance coverage, unbeknownst to him - the company was a sham. A bogus health insurance company commandeered the premiums, which he paid for more than two-years.

In Elgin, Illinois, Harry Dale ran a thriving landscaping business, when he had a heart attack. After recovery, his insurance company was nowhere to be found to pay the hospital bills. Long about collection time, the insurance policy that he bought two years ago was worthless.

Today, these bogus cheap health insurance policies are national, affecting people in Illinois and across the nation. From the discount medical card, the dreaded disease policy (a policy which says that it covers chronic ailments such as cancer, heart disease) to the faith-based health plan, these inexpensive health scams cost the consumer in the end.

The cheap health insurance inflicts an aftermath of financial devastation. Once the unsuspecting policyholder develops an illness, necessitating hospital stay, these illicit insurance companies disappear without a trace. Meanwhile, consumers are saddled with an outrageous hospital bill, and the stigma of a "pre-existing medical condition," rendering them uninsurable.

Nevertheless, two tips may safeguard consumers against being victimized by Illinois health insurance fraud.

1. Meticulously investigate the Illinois health insurance company. Contact the Illinois Department of Insurance to verify if the company is licensed and determine if there are any outstanding complaint files. If the provider claims that they are exempt from regulation or not licensed in your state, find another Illinois health insurance company.

2. Opt for an agent with a proven track record and a reputable insurance provider. Although you may pay a little more for the policy, it exceeds the uncertainty associated with the cheap Illinois health insurance coverage.

How to Live With No Health Insurance

By Genadai Wilbur

In most nations of the world, a majority of the people who enjoy health insurance coverage enjoy it as an employment perk, where an employer - either out of a desire to 'give the best to their employees' or out of legal compulsion - provides health insurance coverage to their employees. This is a great arrangement, because employees enjoy what are typically quite good levels of health insurance coverage - as long as they hold their jobs. The problem is, of course that once someone loses their job, they instantly lose their health insurance coverage.

Another established fact is that as the world navigates through the ongoing economic crisis, more and more people are losing their jobs, and with the jobs - of course, their health insurance coverage. This, to a great extent then, explains the number of people searching for information on how to manage life without health insurance coverage, which can be admittedly difficult for someone who had been accustomed to living with full health insurance coverage.

A good way to start in managing life without health insurance coverage is by making maximum use of the available 'low cost and no cost' healthcare services offered by community health centers. While these may not be top notch health care facilities, they certainly make a good place to seek healthcare services for 'simple' ailments that one would otherwise have to pay considerable sums of money (out of their wallet, on account of their being without health insurance) to get treated in the bigger healthcare facilities, and where the treatment they get is basically the same as what they stand to get from the community health centers.

If one qualifies for the 'financially-vulnerable' criteria applied for government initiatives like Medicare, they should not feel ashamed about registering for them, because they are meant for exactly people who find themselves in the circumstances they themselves find themselves in. This is yet another way you can manage life after losing your health insurance coverage.

To cover for your prescription medication (in case you happen to get an expensive prescription while without health insurance), consider registering for the 'needy-person assistance programs' run by the pharmaceutical companies - though you will have to qualify under quite a stringent criteria, if you are to benefit from this.

Taking up short term health insurance costs (whose prices are typically not very high) and putting your kids into a state-provided 'health insurance for kids' program, too, are measures you can take to ensure that you and your family continue to enjoy reasonably good healthcare, even as you try to find a way of getting a more 'reliable' health insurance coverage plan as your circumstances (hopefully) improve.

Do I Really Need A Health Insurance?

By J. D Theis

This is one of those questions which are really unsettling. It's akin to not buying the monthly metro pass even though you know that you are going to have to travel to work or school every day. At the end of the month you realize, you have spent more than you would have if you had invested in a monthly pass at the beginning of the month. It's all right if you are a person who makes his living in the underworld and all your income is in cash! But for the rest of us hard working individuals of society, a health insurance is more of a basic need than a luxury. Now let us not come to such as easy conclusion. Let us look at some examples and work it out whether or not one needs a health insurance plan.

If you are a person who has regular ailments, then there should be no second thought on getting an insurance plan. For example, if you are suffering from diabetes; then you know that you are going to have to get your insulin shots at regular intervals. If you have a mental condition or are into substance abuse, something is bound to happen in due course of time. And if you are a smoker, there are n numbers of arguments for you to go out and get yourself covered. Obesity is another modern day ailment which can result in serious consequences ranging from heart ailments to diabetes and even liver failure.

If you do not fall under any of the categories above, then you are either a very lucky person, you are lying or you stay in a remote village on top of a hill! Well, jokes apart; it really is a serious issue. Let us look at some examples of how a hale and hearty person can be affected by lack of health insurance.

Imagine you are crossing the road, and gods forbid you are hit by a truck. You do not have access to emergency care. Maybe in a few developed countries, they will provide you with the necessary treatment. But you will still have to pay the bills. And all the while when you are recovering from your injuries, your family will also have to suffer as you will not be providing for them. This is very real and can happen to anybody.

Make sure you are covered by a good health insurance plan. Do not make the mistake of saving a little to end up spending more at the end of the day.

Significance Of Individual Insurance

By J. D Theis

In America, insurance has long been something that is offered to individuals who are employed and are least worried about what their insurance is going to offer them or how it is going to help them. However, things have changed with the recent recession that has resulted in many people losing their jobs and consequently, their insurance options along with it. Hence, it has become important to cater to these people who dont have anywhere else to go.

Insurance companies are unhappy because with ever lay off, they are losing the opportunity to provide coverage for one extra person, which is a loss of revenue for them. Hence, they need to counter for this loss by creating alternate options.

Thus, there has been a boom in the individual insurance market due to this reason. Many people are opting to go in for alternate options that include getting insurance independently and ensuring that they are covered in case of some medical emergency. Almost all big insurance companies offer individuals packages nowadays that enable people to opt for insurance even if they dont have a job. Thanks to individual insurance, people are now finding it less complicated to get insurance on their own, without the need to be employed as such.

Another reason that one would opt for individual insurance includes are if their coverage at work is inadequate and not meeting all expenses. Many times, people who are working in smaller firms are stuck with policies that do not provide adequate amounts of money when you need it and hence, might make you spend a lot out of your pocket when the time for claim arrives. These kind of under insured policies are not uncommon and are often used to save money for the firm and just barely make it through the specified stipulation. In this case, you are better off with insurance of your own.

When you do decide to opt in for individual insurance, keep in mind that you might not always get what you pay for. Sometimes, you might be stuck with a policy that is easy on the pocket but does not provide adequate coverage. Thus, make sure that you are not stuck with one of these policies and ensure that you do the right thing and opt for something that is cost effective and also useful at the same time. There is no point in opting for something extremely expensive and then regretting that you ever did so when you end up never using it.

What Aspects Go Into Creating A Good Health Insurance Quote?

By J. D Theis

There is a saying which goes like 'make hay while the sun shines'. The problem is that most of us are too busy making hay that we do not stock up for the rainy day. It's ok if one doesn't have enough to pay for his second car or his annual beach vacation. But when it comes to a medical emergency, it becomes a matter of life and death. This is when it becomes very important to have a good health insurance plan.

So how does one go about getting one? Well, first you have to apply for one with the many health insurance providers out there. After you fill in all your details, you will get your health insurance quote.

So what is the health insurance quote? It is the approximate estimate of the premium that you will have to pay on an annual or monthly basis for your coverage. The quote is based on a number of factors. Now let us explore a few of those factors. Firstly, it is based on the number of people you want covered. Is it an individual plan or a family plan? An individual plan is more expensive on a per person basis, but is cheaper when compared to a family plan on the whole.

Secondly, the health insurance quote depends on the benefits that you seek. Are you looking for freedom of choice or are you looking for a basic plan which will do the job? Are you okay with travelling a lot to visit your doctor or are you well acquainted with the one across the street? It's basically a tradeoff between freedom and a cheaper plan. The more the freedom the more is the cost.

Thirdly, what sort of ailments are you suffering from? Are you a smoker or is any other member of your family a smoker? If you have any sort of chronic condition, then the premium that you will be paying will be a lot more than if you are a reasonably healthy person.

And then lastly, it also depends on where you are geographically located. Are you living in a very expensive city? If so, even the doctors will expect to be paid well! Basically before going out to get a health insurance plan, get an online health insurance quote first. This will give you an idea of how much exactly you will have to pay for what services.

Where To Look For Affordable Health Insurance?

By J. D Theis

Most of us who are blessed with a job in the present world also have health insurance taking care of our needs. However, for the rest of us, getting health insurance is something that we need to do on our own. Hence, it is imperative that we know where to begin from in order to get health insurance that fits our budget and has all the requisite features.

The challenge remains in finding health insurance that has coverage that is actually useful if you do fall ill and need to claim it and also finding it in a budget that is agreeable by people who are making a low income or are living off their savings.

Most companies have realized that health insurance is not a necessity anymore and if people dont find affordable ones, they are not going to be bothered with it. This is probably why over 47 million Americans today dont have any kind of health insurance and prefer to remain that way until their other needs are taken care of or until the insurance becomes more affordable. Thanks to the sudden drop in demand for health insurance, most of the companies have come out with new affordable options that can be used by people who are living on the most modest incomes.

The first options when looking for affordable health insurance is to opt for a HMO or PPO, which is usually a contract based service wherein you can only visit doctors and hospitals that have been mentioned in the contract. This option is somewhat cheaper than opting for health insurance that has unlimited coverage and can be sued in any hospital for any kind of doctor. With HMO, you have to pay an extra fee to sue a doctor or service that is not in the contract. For most people, this is a pretty reasonable offer and probably one of the best affordable health insurance in the market.

However, some people still want to go on an health insurance package that costs less and will give them the same options as the ones they had when they were working. The unfortunate reality with this is that although you might end up getting affordable health insurance, the coverage is so low that you might have to shell out most of the money for your bills from your own pocket. The case of being under insured is very common with these policies, and many people realize this hard way when they fall ill and need to make claims. Hence, make sure that you read all the terms and conditions before buying any kind of health insurance.

Health Insurance Options For The Unhealthy

By J. D Theis

In an ideal world, you could just walk up to any company and get health insurance done and never be worried whether or not you are going to get rejected. However, we dont live in an ideal world and the reality is that not everyone who applies for health insurance is assured of getting it. Often times, people who opt for health insurance are rejected for some pretty ridiculous reasons. Due to the freedom bestowed on these companies, they have the right to reject anyone they feel like, even if it is for some absurd reason. You have no other option but to move on and approach some other company.

The problem with getting health insurance when you are not completely okay is that companies often look at you as a liability. Hence, they are little hesitant to provide coverage without first conducting a thorough analysis and determining whether you are worth the risk or not. In fact, many companies that have a lot of people as its patrons might not even look at your file and directly reject you when they get to know about any underlying symptom that you might have.

Dont be dejected if this happens to you because you are not alone. In fact, there are many people out there who want to get insured but may not have the means. If the only problem that is preventing you from getting health insurance is the fact that you have a previous condition, then you can try your luck at some other option. Instead of going to a company and opting for individual coverage, you can choose something else like HMO or PPO that can get the job done and is even light on your pocket.

There are a lot more options as well that you can still choose from. You can even make claims from the social security office and have your name enrolled on a special coverage. Since many people with existing conditions are turned away by private insurance companies, they have little else left but to go to the government if they are not financially well off.

The coverage that you get by this method may not be all that great, but it is at least better than not having any sort of coverage itself. You can stick by this policy till you can work out something better and have another option where you get better coverage and at a price that is within your reach.

Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage

By Susan Reynolds

Car insurance provides drivers protection in the event of an accident. The importance of having insurance is not realized until the unfortunate event of an accident. Laws in most states require drivers to have insurance policies that include liability coverage. While some drivers do not have the required coverage there are those who do have liability yet they have insufficient limits to cover damages when they are at fault. For this reason, it is very important to have coverage that will protect you in case of an accident involving you and such drivers to be a provision in the insurance policy. In the industry this type of coverage is known as uninsured-underinsured motorist coverage.

Uninsured and underinsured coverage is not a separate policy. It can be included in your regular car insurance for additional fees. You might look at these additional monies and decide it's not worth the price, but you have to think about the cost of NOT holding this sort of policy. Are you prepared to pay for damages to your car when an accident is not your fault? Even the most careful drivers are at risk. You wouldn't want to regret your decision later.

Ideally, every motorist should have uninsured motorist coverage, even though it is not required. This coverage not only protects you the driver, but your passengers and anyone listed on the policy are covered if involved in an accident and the other driver is uninsured or is underinsured against damages. Your insurance under the uninsured motorist coverage will cover expenses such as: hospital, treatment, funeral services, car repairs or replacement costs, content damage, disability indemnity, etc. The limit for these expenses will be determined by the amount of your uninsured or under-insured limit in your automobile insurance policy.

?I already have that coverage?, you think. ?My policy covers hospitalization, property damage, funeral costs, and more?. Your regular auto insurance policy usually covers these things for accidents that are your fault. But if you aren't at fault, the person who caused the accident is in charge of paying the bills. If that person has no insurance, they have to pay for it all outright. Unfortunately, people who can't afford insurance can't afford your hospital bills, either. This means you'll have to pay those costs yourself, and can you really afford that?

The other driver should be responsible for the expenses incurred as a result of the accident; however, in the event the other driver lacks coverage or is insufficiently covered, you will be left to pay the costs.

Usually the price of damages is handled by the driver at fault. However, in the case of an uninsured driver, there is no other option than to take on this burden yourself. A single incident or accident could cripple your finances in a moment, and it's in your best interest to protect yourself from this possibility.

Your dollar-amount limits for this kind of policy is usually the same as your regular boundaries. Like with regular policies, some companies might have minimum and maximum amounts they require.

Medical Insurance For Your Teeth

By J. D Theis

Dental insurance is something that is overlooked by many people because of the myth that it is expensive and unnecessary. Many people feel that dental care is something that they can avoid and perhaps use only once in a while when they actually do need it. However, the truth is that you are going to often want to make use of dental insurance as one can never be too sure about your teeth. Tooth pain is often unbearable and sudden and when it does happen, you better be prepared. You can choose from one of the many dental plans available that can be accommodates into your budget.

First, you need to keep in mind that dental insurance is not as costly as it is made to be. It typically costs only a fraction more to add on to your existing healthcare insurance. Most dental insurance provide adequate coverage and will reimburse you for most of the commonly conducted medical procedures. It gets cheaper if your employer provides it for you as it usually doesnt cost them too much to add to their existing medical insurance. Depending on the plan, you may have a ceiling on the total benefits you get to enjoy every year and might have to restrict your dental bills to be accommodated within this limit.

Dental insurance works in a way that is dependent on the kind of policy that you might be having. Some dental insurance are such that they pay a part of your bill upfront and you may to chip in for the difference. Other dental insurance work in a way such that you have to pay for the entire bill from your pocket and then file a claim for it later to be reimbursed. You cant be sure of the plan as it is dependent on your provider. Most providers follow the latter method when offering dental insurance.

It is not very easy to get dental insurance independently and most people who have it get it from their employer. The problem with dental insurance is that there are very few companies that offer it, which makes it harder for the individual to buy it on his own.

A majority of the people who have it get it from their employer, which makes it important for you to sign up for it as well if you have the option. Remember that the costs involved are very less and probably irrelevant when you compare to how much you might have to spend from your own pocket.

Let Teenagers Do Their Insurance Shopping

By Graham McKenzie

Responsibility is a virtue stressed by parents to their children every day. But when the time comes to test that virtue with a driver's license, we want to wish them back into young childhood again where we can tuck them into bed at night and watch over them. The turmoil and stress that parents go through during this transitional phase is often as great as or greater than the turmoil commonly expected in teens. As parents, we are thrilled that they have passed the tests and received the license they so desperately wanted.

But, we are also aware of other issues that now must be taken into consideration. One such issue is the cost of insurance. The prices of insurance for teen drivers is often shocking for the average family income. Some insurance companies, however, have made an effort to become "teen friendly." What does it mean for an insurance company to be "teen friendly?"

This is where the parents need to take a break. Our son/daughter has grown old enough to drive and they have got their license too. They are no longer small kids and they are matured enough to do some of their works. So why are we trying to spoon feed them about the suitable insurance policies? It would be more helpful for them if we ask them to find out the right insurance on their own. They can know the seriousness of the insurance when they are allowed to collect the details. Let them do their own research. Guide them towards the right direction. It is better to allow them to do their own insurance shopping.

You can guide them with the important features that should be looked for and the ways of comparing them. The important factor that should be taken into account is who would be bearing the monthly insurance payment. If you are going to bear the cost, then make sure that you child does not stop with the first quote they get. See that they look for few more quotes and also let them know that they would be bearing the insurance payment on a day directly or indirectly.

When your child is allowed to search for the right insurance, they will understand the importance of finding the affordable rates. This will help them to go by the guidelines and rules the Insurance Companies are offering especially when the insurance payments are made by themselves.

The responsibility of doing their own insurance shopping, will give the teen the impression that you are trying to treat them like an adult and that you are giving them some amount of trust. Knowing this, they are more likely to relay that trust to their responsibility when behind the wheel of the car.

There is an additional bonus by giving the responsibility. The child will clearly understand the problem in buying a new car besides the money factor. This insurance research would teach them to compare the different rates in accordance with the cost of vehicle.

What Can You Afford to Pay for a House?

By Tomas B. Piper

Before you even think about shopping for a home, you should determine how much you can afford to pay for it. Many hopeful home buyers fail to do this and spend countless hours looking at houses that are way out of their price range.

If you understand how banks determine the mortgage you can afford by examining your income, amount of down payment and total closing costs, you will have a better concept of this. Lenders will also look at your current debt and fixed expenses, since you will have to continue to pay such bills and they want to be sure you have enough income left to pay the home loan.

To do this, banks use certain ratios that tell them what you are able to afford, ratios based on income, expenses, debt, down payment and closing costs.

It is possible to calculate these costs on a worksheet, or you can get in touch with a mortgage broker who will be happy to do it for you.

For most people, saving for the down payment is the biggest barrier to purchasing a home. People don?t routinely save as much as they did in the past, so frequently they will not have any sizable balances in savings accounts. The days of no down payment loans are now behind us since the credit crisis in the home mortgage market, so most people will have to count on saving a large amount for their down payment.

A minimum of a 10% deposit will normally be required. So, if you are shopping in the $200,000 price range, you have to have $20,000 on hand, plus a reasonable amount for closing costs. You can request an estimate of closing costs from your lender.

A minimal estimate of closing costs would be $5,000, making a total of $25,000. Now the lender will ask whether you can make the monthly payments. You can visit many sites on the internet that will help you calculate what you can afford for a monthly home loan, or you can consult with a mortgage broker.

The traditional rule is that your housing costs should not exceed 25% of your income. However, if you have inflated credit card debt, it will affect this percentage. The lender expects you to use the balance after the 25% for food, clothing, utilities, education and savings, not high monthly payments on a card. If you have high credit card debt that has to be paid, that will be deducted from your income when the lender is calculating what you can afford.

If you net $6,000 per month, you can afford a mortgage payment of about $1,500 (25%), barring any other large, standing expenses. This is the smartest way to shop for a house, once you really know how much you can afford to pay for it.
