How Collision & Comp Auto Insurance Coverages Benefit You

By Joseph Welusz

Auto Insurance Coverage

Excluding basic liability coverage the most carried types of car insurance coverage are Comprehensive and Collision coverage. In this article we will explain what is included in each type of coverage and what there differences are. So, when it's time to get free insurance quotes you'll be ready.

Collision Coverage

Collision coverage will pay for damages resulting from an automobile accident where you collide with another object, such as another car or tree. The coverage is comparable expensive when compared to the other coverages included in a car insurance policy. Collision coverage is optional and isn't required by law, although a leasing are finance company my require it.

If you have an old car and it is not worth at least $2000, you might want to consider not buying collision coverage. You will likely pay more for the coverage than you would get if you filed a claim. This is because insurance companies are only required to pay for the lessor of either what the car is worth or the costs to fix it. They might deem you vehicle worth less than what it will cost to fix.

Comprehensive Coverage

It can also be known as other than collision coverage and it pays for almost all other damages to your vehicle. Coverages include vandalism, theft, hitting of animals, fire, severe weather and floods. It will also cover damage to your windshield or windows. It doesn't cost as much as collision coverage and is also optional and not required by law, although it may also be required by your financing or leasing company.

An important thing to consider when purchasing collision and comprehensive coverage is your deductible. Many companies offer zero dollar to $2500 deductibles. The deductible is the amount of money you will pay if you file a claim before the insurance company pays there share. For example, if you have a $500 comprehensive deductible and file a claim for $1300, you pay $500 and the insurance company will pay the remaining $800.

Basically, deductibles reduce your premiums because you agree to deduct a set amount from the claim your insurer otherwise would have to pay. Insurance companies offer deductibles because they reduce the number of small claims, which are costly for them to handle.

If you lease or purchase a new car and have a loan, the lending company will might insist you have collision and comprehensive coverage with deductibles no higher than $1000 each. The reason the require this coverage is to make sure the car is worth something in case you default on your payments and they have to resell your car to recoup there money.

If you are required or choose to purchase collision and comprehensive coverage, the easiest way to get cheap car insurance is to request the highest deductible you can afford. Remember, you will be required to pay that deductible amount if you file a claim that is your fault before the insurance company will pay for the rest of the damages.

What Are The Exclusions in Travel Insurance Plan

By Ray Sondeo

It is always a thrilling experience to travel abroad. But wait a minute! Will the thrill and the excitement be the same if you or your family member falls sick or meets with an accident? Won?t it be horrible to find that your travel insurance doesn?t cover you against medical expenses incurred outside your home country?

It is a common misconception amongst people that their travel insurance covers them against all medical expenses incurred even during their travel abroad. The truth is that medical insurance for travelers has its own terms and conditions, like all other insurance policies. It is absolutely necessary that you keep yourself informed of the minutest detail of your travel insurance. You must be aware of the provisions which your travel insurance will and will not give you.

If you have pre-existing medical conditions then it will not be accommodated by your travel medical insurance. Such conditions include pregnancy and related conditions, dental or medical conditions for which you are undergoing treatment, surgical or medical condition for which you are under medication. Anxiety, mental disorder, depression, traveling against the consent of your doctor is also considered as exclusion by travelers? medical insurance.

Medical tourism also falls under the category of exclusion. If you are going abroad for receiving a particular medical treatment, for example cosmetics surgery or a surgery of similar nature, then your medical insurance for travel will not cover you against your medical expenses.

There are even more exclusions which are attached to your travel health insurance policies when you are traveling abroad. A few of them are war or war-like situations, epidemics, natural disasters, nuclear attacks etc. These are the exclusions attached to almost all insurance policies.

Additionally, even high risk sports do not qualify under travel insurance. Sports involving bodily contact such as mountaineering, skydiving, skiing, caving, riding in races, bungee jumping, parachuting, etc are excluded from the clauses of medical insurance for travelers. Some policies offer coverage for these hazardous sports, if an additional rider is bought by paying extra premium.

The other exclusions include loss of your bag and baggage, frauds, deceit by your travel agent, or personal losses resulting due to lack of responsibility on your part. It also doesn?t accommodate attempt to suicide, drug misuse, and alcoholic misuse.

Purchasing travel insurance is the best way of bracing yourself against unforeseen travel accidents. However, different travel insurance companies will offer you different packages. It is therefore recommended that you go through the travel insurance policies online and pick up the best deal for yourself. The claims department covers all genuine expenses and claims after a thorough assessment.

No Cost or Low Cost Medication Access Programs: How do I Apply?

By Tom Harkenshire

Even at best of times, some people cannot afford the medicine they require. Consequently, in this day and age, when people are losing jobs by the day, the problem becomes worse. In particular, when considering many of these people are not covered by any type of health insurance.

Unfortunately, many of these people have illnesses that require medications. But there is a glimmer of hope: several pharmaceutical companies, organizations and large retailers offer free or low cost medication access programs. The web, as always, is an excellent resource towards finding and applying to these programs.

One such company is Xubex. Xubex is a pharmaceutical company that offers to eligible people all generic medications at a fraction of their cost. Furthermore, some people are even eligible to receiving a three month supply of medication for $20 or less.

How does one apply to such programs?

Although many companies offer such programs, their policies and rules as to who qualifies vary. Thus, in order to know how to apply, it is necessary to obtain the information specific to the company. This is normally available on the company's website. However, if it is not there, the company should be contacted directly.

After the details are obtained, the candidate must fill certain forms, and mail them with supporting documents. In addition, the doctor who prescribed the medication must fill a certain part of the application form.

The necessary documents include the prescription, and a document demonstrating the financial state of the patient (specifically, his or her inability to afford the medication on their own).

Some companies also allow applying on behalf of other patients; this can be very helpful if one has a sick mother that is simply too ill to apply on her own.

If approved, patients receive the medication within 24 hours after the application reaches the company.

Note that this type of application has to be redone every year along with up-to-date supporting financial documents. After all, it is possible that a patients financial situation has changed for the better and he may no longer be eligible for the program, allowing another, less fortunate patient to take his place.

These programs, the No Cost or Low Cost Medication Access Programs, that are being offered by many companies even in these tough times offer a glimmer of hope to many people, and are truly a testament to the generosity of the human spirit.

Protecting Your Home With The Best Home Security System

By Matt Peters

Do you know the best home security system that's right for your home? This should be the first question on your mind whether you are building or buying a new house for you and your family.

In order to protect your loved ones and your properties, you will need the best possible home security system. But there are so many options out there that it can leave you rather confused about picking out the best home security system. To make it easier for you to pick out the best home security system, narrow it down to looking at the features of a hard-wired system and a wireless system.

The Hard-wired System

Depending on your lifestyle, this may be the best home security system for you. A hard-wired setup will usually be best installed while you are building your house so that you can install all the needed cables ahead of time. This will save you the time and energy of drilling holes into your walls and ceiling later on just to install the best home security system.

Getting a hard-wired system is definitely much cheaper than its wireless counterparts. But the problem is that you may be spending more on maintenance costs later along the line. This is probably the only reason why this will not be the best home security system for you.

The great thing about hard-wired components is that no matter how far you need to place any cameras or microphones, you won't have to worry about any transceiver signals getting weak since they run through the wires. Wireless components must be placed depending on signal strength between the mother console and the cameras themselves. This makes the hard-wired system the best home security system for this aspect alone.

The Wireless System

Going wireless is another home security system option. A wireless system has a lot to offer and one of the reasons it is the best home security system is that it can be installed whether or not you are building a house or moving into an older one. This means that you do not have too many chores to do when it comes to drilling holes and running cables through your house since there are none.

The other reason why it could be the best home security system for you is that it may be an expensive investment but overall maintenance costs down the line are very cheap. In fact, you will only probably have to worry about maintaining the power sources for any cameras, microphones, or motion detection devices that you will set up in your house. The one feature that really sets this apart as the best home security system is that since it is wireless, you can set up this system to work on a WIFI network. This means that you will be able to monitor your house from any location as long as you are on the Internet.

If you narrow choices down to wireless or hard-cabled systems, it becomes easier for you to select the best home security system for you and your house. After all, you only deserve the best home security system to protect the things that you value the most.

Different Ways To Get Life Insurance

By Susan Reynolds

Life Insurance is an asset in the sense that it helps in supporting your family members financially even after your death. As a result, your family need not be financially dependent on anyone even in your absence because the insurance company will pay back the final sum assured to your family in the case of your unexpected death.

The first and foremost step is to shop around a little and compare the different insurance companies and the deals offered by them. You can either browse for information online, or contact your insurance agent and ask him for a comparative quote from different insurance companies. Discussing with relatives and friends whom you trust is also a good option.

It is very important to opt for companies which have a prominent online visibility and which have been in business for a long period of time because this will ensure that your money is in safe hands.

Mentioned below are some of the most common ways of obtaining a life insurance cover ?

It is commonly seen that people are totally clueless about which insurance company is the best in terms of stability and returns. They also have almost no idea about how much money they should invest into life insurance. Therefore, they tend to approach a licensed insurance advisor and seek his expert guidance regarding these important financial decisions. The agent listens to their case, studies their financial situation, conducts a detailed analysis, and then comes up with a sound foolproof insurance plan to meet their specific needs.

Many people, especially the older ones, who may be suffering from any chronic health problem, may find it difficult to obtain an insurance cover at a low premium unless they are automatically covered under a group insurance plan that is meant for all the employees in an organization. Usually, most employers provide a free life insurance benefit worth two times the basic salary of their employees. However, if you want to go for a higher sum assured, then you may pay the difference in the premium amount from your own pocket. As a result, you get additional insurance cover at comparatively much lower premium amount, than what you would have ended up paying, had you taken the insurance individually.

Another alternative to get your life insurance cover is to hunt for them online. You need to check up the insurance company websites, look for the best insurance deals, ask for quotes and settle for the insurance plan of that company, which seems best for your needs. The insurance company websites are transparent enough and all the information is available online for free. If you can not pool in the time to locate all the information that you need, then you can simply register with a brokerage firm online and allow them to look for the best insurance deals for you. They will charge you some nominal fee for their brokerage services.

Car Insurance Advice for Young Drivers

By Tom Martens

One of the biggest days in any teen's life is the day they get their driver's license. But with that tiny piece of plastic arrive huge responsibilities. One of those responsibilities is auto insurance. Every newly licensed driver must arrange for adequate auto coverage.

But car insurance for teen drivers can be very expensive. Teen drivers are considered high risk drivers due to their inexperience, which means they can expect to pay high rates for their insurance premiums. Don?t let that stop you from earning your driver?s license, though. With careful planning, teen drivers can find ways to save money on car insurance.

The first step a teen driver should take is to get several quotes from licensed insurance providers. Different providers define risk in different ways, which means some providers might charge higher insurance premiums for teen drivers than other insurance providers. There is also much competition in the insurance business, and if an insurance provider knows you are talking to a competitor, they might be willing to offer you a better rate on your insurance premiums. But you have to ask and be willing to negotiate. The internet makes doing research and shopping for insurance much easier than it was in the past.

If you haven't already, look into taking basic driver education and/or defensive driving. Taking and passing these courses shows insurers that you are serious about driving safely. It allows them to rate your policy as a lower risk, and keeps your insurance costs down, usually about 10%. Talk to an agent about which courses are available to qualify you for a safe driver discounts.

Ask your agent if the insurance company offers discounts to student belonging to certain clubs, or if they offer good student discounts. Ask whether they will give you a discount based on your parents' policies or organizational memberships. This is where a little research on the Internet is very helpful before you see your agent.

Another way to get a great discount on your car insurance is bundling. If you parents have home or life coverage, sometimes their insurance providers will bundle all your policies and offer a discount. Sometimes this discount can be really substantial. And check whether the insurance company offers discounts to household that have multiple drivers or own multiple cars. This is another terrific way to lower your car insurance costs.

See about insurance before you take your driving test. Your agent can answer all the questions you have about car insurance, examining your individual situation to make recommendations that make sure you have all the coverage you need before you ever sit behind the wheel. It will take some effort, time, and research, but you could end up saving a lot of money on your premiums, which makes the effort worth it.

Toronto Term Life Insurance: How Are Mortgage Insurance Premiums Decided

By Michael M. Callender

You can count on three main factors affecting the cost of your mortgage insurance. If you compare a similar policy, you may receive different quotes, based on the size of the mortgage, and the condition of the owner (age, smoker or non smoker).

Both kinds of mortgage insurance-life to pay down the mortgage, or disability to continue mortgage payments-use these three things to determine the premium.

Since the age and health of the insured is one of the most critical determinants of when a policy will be paid, they are the most important determinant of how much it will cost. A great many mortgage insurance policies do not even need a physical. Just because a physical is not needed, don't think you can hide a grave health condition or whether you are a smoker. Don't think you can claim to be a non smoker and then collect on the insurance because the insurance company didn't know. But if the reason for death or disability can be related to the hidden condition, the policy can be cancelled, and the insured would have paid premiums for nothing.

There are two typical policies, regular, which includes smokers and non smokers, which does not (and also includes those who have not smoked over the last 12 months.) Needless to say, this increased risk is built into the various premiums.

Bear in mind that insurance policies that are writable without a physical have previously priced the additional risks into the premium. Anyone who has exceptional health should think about getting a physical screening, since the premiums are much lower.

Age is a big piece of the way premiums are calculated, and if you compared a quote for a 38 year old, same mortgage, same length left on the loan, it would be less than half that of a 50 year old. Lowering the loan amount insured will not change the premium that much. It is not a surprise since, in addition to the risks of age and health, the risk of the premium being paid longer are much greater.

The amount to be be insured is, of course the next prime concern of the policy. Prior to the $250,000 threshold, though, there is not a great impact on prices. Larger mortgages need a higher premium and the insurance company will also require an assessment to prove the worth of the property.

Health Insurance For Visitors For International Travel

By Ray Sondeo

Travelers often assume, wrongly, that their existing health insurance coverage will extend to foreign nations. In most cases, this is not true and international travelers need additional coverage during their stay. Health insurance for visitors is a sensible and responsible investment for travelers.

Most health insurance companies are hesitant to extend their coverage to areas of the world they know to be dangerous. This can also apply to doctors with whom the company has no relationship and of whom they have no substantial knowledge. Sadly, many insurance companies simply want to deny as many claims as possible.

Another common excuse for some reason for not acquiring visitor medical insurance is that one does not need it. Perhaps they are only going to be abroad for a few days, and in a very safe area. Nothing could go wrong. Well, it can, many travelers experience an unexpected and expensive illness or medical emergency.

Unfortunately, visitors typically don?t realize the value of visitors medical insurance until after a situation occurs. Financial ruin can easily become a result of not having a policy. Visitors insurance is vitally important in protecting travelers against unexpected health-related expenses.

Visitor medical insurance may turn out to be a significant investment if the insured suffers from an illness or accident during their travels. Conditions such as a heart attack or stroke can happen any time and in any part of the world, no matter how safe a traveler thinks he or she is being. Visitor health insurance prevents extreme financial obligation in one of these events from being passed on to the traveler.

Broken bones and bad sprains, unfortunately, are sometimes the symptoms of having had a good time. Visitor health insurance covers these sort of injuries, which sometimes even allows a family to continue on with their vacation instead of cutting it short due to the unexpected costs of treatment.

Insurance for visitors traveling internationally is so important. Visitors need to be smart travelers who expect to have a good time but are prepared in case anything should go wrong.

Travelers should not risk visiting foreign countries without the safety net of medical insurance for visitor coverage. Visitors insurance should be utilized by anyone traveling abroad to protect against unforeseen sicknesses and financial expenses.

10 Life Insurance Myths

By Rob Ford

Life insurance can be as complicated as you want to make it. As simple as term life policies are there are many elements to be considered carefully in order to arrive at the correct type and benefit in Akron Ohio . It is the technical aspects of life insurance that most people can deal with rather than trying to get a handle on how much coverage they need and why.

What you read will briefly take a look at the some of the most common myths surrounding life insurance and the truths that they distort.

Myth No.1: I'm single and don't have any dependents, therefore I don't need any coverage. Even a single person needs at least enough life insurance to cover the costs of personal debts, medical and funeral bills. If you are uninsured, you may leave a legacy of unpaid expenses for your family or executor to deal with. Plus, this can be a good way for low-income singles to leave a legacy to a favorite charity or other cause.

Second Myth: I'm single with no kids, with that being said, why should I spend money on life insurance? As a single person, there are still your final expenses, that is reason enough to have life insurance. If you are uninsured in Akron Ohio, you may leave a burden of these expenses for your family or executor to deal with. Moreover, this can be a good way for low-income singles to do something good for their favorite charity.

Third Myth: My life insurance coverage, through my employer, is sufficient. This could be. For a single person and few bills, employer-provided term coverage is probably enough. But if you have a family, with kids, your needs may be greater. Plus, in most cases, that employer plan does not go with you when you leave that job.

Myth No.4: At least the cost of my premiums will be deductible. Not in most cases. The cost of personal life insurance is never deductible unless the policyholder is self-employed in Akron Oh and the coverage is used to insure the business. Then the premiums are deductible on the Schedule C of the Form 1040.

Fifth Myth: Only if you are the one making the money, do you need life insurance. This sounds like pure nonsense. The deceased homemakers responsibilities can cost higher than you think, the costs for cleaning and daycare could run over one thousand dollars per month.

Myth No.6: I should ALWAYS buy term and invest the difference. Not necessarily. The cost of term life coverage can become prohibitively high in later years; therefore, those who know for certain that they must be covered at death should consider permanent coverage. The total premium outlay for a more expensive permanent policy may be less than the ongoing premiums that could last for years longer with a less expensive term policy.

There is also the chance of being uninsurable, which could be disastrous for those who may have estate tax issues will use life insurance to pay them. But this risk can be eliminated with permanent coverage, which can become paid up after a certain amount of premiums have been paid and then remains in force the rest of your life.

Myth No.7: Variable universal life policies are always superior to straight universal life policies. Many universal policies pay competitive interest rates, and variable universal life (VUL) policies contain several layers of fees relating to both the insurance and securities elements present in the policy. Therefore, if the variable sub accounts within the policy do not perform well; the variable policyholder may well see a lower cash value compared to a non variable universal life policy.

Sub par market performance can also generate substantial cash calls inside variable policies that require additional premiums to be paid in order to keep the life insurance portion of the policy in force.

Eighth Myth: Only the one making the money needs life insurance coverage. This is pure nonsense. The cost to replace the responsibilities that were provided by a deceased homemaker can be higher than you think; the costs for cleaning and daycare are higher than you think.

Ninth Myth: When purchasing term in Akron Ohio always add the return of premium (ROP) benefit. There are several different levels of ROP riders available for policies that offer this feature. Some financial advisors will tell you that this rider is not cost-effective and should be avoided. Whether you include this rider will depend on your risk tolerance and other possible investment objectives.

A cash flow analysis will reveal whether you could come out ahead by investing the same amount of the rider elsewhere instead of including it in the policy. Riders are available to provide additional benefits that help you customize your policy.

Myth No.10: I'm better off investing my money than buying life insurance of any kind. Complete nonsense. Until you reach the breakeven point of asset accumulation, you need life coverage of some sort, barring the exception discussed in Myth No.5. Once you amass $1 million of liquid assets, you can consider whether to discontinue, or at least reduce, your million-dollar policy. But you take a big chance when you depend solely on your investments, especially if you have dependents. If you die without coverage for them, there may be no other means of provision after the depletion of your current assets.

In conclusion, these are just some of the more prevalent misunderstandings concerning life insurance that the public faces today. The key concept to understand is that you shouldn't leave life insurance out of your budget unless you have enough assets to cover expenses after your death.

Business Insurance - Don't Rush Into A Policy

By Caressa Waechter

Every company needs business insurance. When you are offered a policy, read it very carefully. Only sign the policy if you have read every word including the small print. Whenever you call your insurer, your agent should give you full and complete attention. If they do not, then immediately call the agents manager and demand satisfaction. Don't ever let someone that is paid to render a service to you, give you lousy service. If the need arises to file an insurance claim, you should make sure you know who the contact person is.

Managers should train employees to know who to contact about business insurance issues. The workers that assist in keeping insurance claims down should be rewarded. It covers everything from property and casualty insurance to health, disability and life insurance. Always type a letter based on what your conversation with the insurance agent is about. When this happens, the agent will give your claim file to their legal department to make sure it is handled correctly.

Always award some kind of bonus to your workers if they can keep the number of claims down. Your policy should cover disability, life insurance, health insurance, casualty and property insurance. Make sure that all communication with the insurer is in written form as you may need to prove something in the future.

Demand excellent service, regardless of the size of your account. You can be assured that your insurer's staff will keep a record of all communication. Including conversations at meetings or speaking on the telephone.

Don't make any agreements that cannot be put in writing in your policy. If your business is a smaller account, don't allow the insurer to give you substandard service. Business insurance agencies require the employees to document everything. That includes phone calls or meetings in person. Do not make idle threats to your insurance agent about canceling your policy. If you feel you are not getting what you pay for, then just cancel the policy. Be sure and establish a relationship with your agent. This will help when it comes time to call upon his services. Try to keep the agent on your side so he will fight for you whenever the need arises.

Errors And Omissions Insurance Provides Coverage For Professionals

By Caressa Waechter

Errors and omissions insurance is a policy that covers a business professional against any accident or mistake that may occur in their practice or agency leading to a case that may end up in court. This policy will cover a practice or agency throughout the legal process, from judgement to settlement of the case, all in the hope of saving a practice or an individual's reputation.

This type of insurance is also referred to as E & O insurance or malpractice insurance and is predominately used by business professionals such as doctors, dentist, real estate agents, engineers and also lawyers. E & O insurance will cover the business and the individual in the event of a legal case being brought against them.

All professionals need to consider this coverage. If you provide work for a client that can suffer if you make an error or omission, then this insurance is for you.

E & O policies can be written in two forms, claims made or claims made and reported. These claims have a retroactive date, meaning that claims made on an event that happened before the policy date will not be covered. Each practice or agency is completely different, therefore requiring different E & O insurance. A doctor would need different inclusions in their policies compared to a Real Estate agent. The insurance industry is a very competitive field and a business needs to make sure that the insurance company has the practice's best interests in mind and will be able to cover them fully.

The cost of E & O insurance varies greatly from company to company. E & O insurance will cover a company through judgments, settlements and defense cost and will possibly save a company thousands of dollars, even if the case is deemed groundless.

A business owner needs to work with their insurance underwriter so that they are offered the best priced policy that will cover them if an incident was to occur. When an errors and omissions insurance policy is put into place a business needs to make sure that they keep their business running well, to make sure their procedures are all in place and that all employees understand these procedures. With this insurance policy in place the business does not want to lower their standards as the threat of a malpractice claim could put the business and individuals into bankruptcy or the business may have to close down.

Setting Up Wireless Home Security Cameras for Your Home

By Matt Peters

Cameras are great home security improvements for any home. They come in all shapes and sizes.

Wireless home security cameras are probably the best ones to come out in the security industry because they can be hidden in any space that they can fit into. They can still work too as long as the space does not interfere with or block the signal the wireless home security cameras transmit to the computer or console they are connected to.

Fool Them

A wireless home camera can be positioned anywhere around the room and can be disguised as something else. For example, you may want to disguise your wireless home security cameras inside stuffed toys and place them around the house. Burglars will not want to take things that are of no value and stuffed toys look harmless so they will not think for a minute that the eyes of a stuffed toy were actually replaced with wireless home security cameras.

Wireless home security cameras can also be hidden from view because it can simply be attached into ordinary everyday objects like bookshelves or lamps. The more creative you are in hiding the wireless home security cameras, the more careless burglars will be because they will continue rummaging through your home not thinking that they are being recorded at all.

Dummy Cams

You can also fool people into thinking that you are using more wireless home security cameras than you have installed. For example, you might have one or two wireless home security cameras monitoring your home. But you can also install dummy cameras. These cameras look exactly like cameras and you can set them up all around the house. People will think twice when seeing these cameras pointed in their direction. All the while, the real cameras are actually installed in places where these dummy cameras are not. These real cameras will be recording the areas that really need protecting from intruders.

As long as you can make people believe they're constantly being watched, they will never try anything funny. Dummy cameras can also be set up outside the house in the yard or backyard to ward off burglars who will see them and think that they cannot break into your home.

Wireless home security cameras are improving each day. A new feature is added with each release of the newer technology. Today's wireless home security cameras are so efficient that they can even record in the dark and in full color. This is a feature called night vision. Originally night vision could only record images that would come out greenish in color. With that said, imagine just how advanced wireless home security cameras will be in the future as they get smaller and more configurable so that you can use them in any way that you want.

Compare Online Auto Insurance Quotes - Find the Right Policy for You

By Ricardo Liguriano

Are you wondering if it's worth shopping around for a better price on your auto insurance? With today's auto insurance arena being a buyer's market, the answer is definitely yes.

This puts the auto insurance shopper at a definite advantage. With many websites offering online auto insurance quotes, it's easy to compare prices; many companies also have a feature on their website that lets you customize your policy and see how each adjustment will affect your premium.

Before you start requesting online auto insurance quotes, you'll want to make sure you have some information handy: your driver's license number, the exact make and model of each car you want to insure, your Social Security number, and dates and details of any accidents you've had in the last five years. It's important at this stage to give information that is as complete and accurate as possible, in order to get a realistic quote.

At some stage during the quote process, you will be asked if you are a homeowner or have other assets to protect, such as savings and investments. This is crucial in determining what level of liability coverage you should carry. Each state in the US dictates minimums on liability coverage, but these minimums may not completely cover the total damages in the case of a serious accident.

As you compare online auto insurance quotes, check to see what kind of discounts are being offered by each insurance company -- you may qualify for several! Typical discounts offered by many companies are good driver discount, good student discount, multiple policy discount, and discounts for cars with safety features, such as airbags and anti-lock brakes.

Many auto insurance companies offer a plethora of discounts, including good driver discount, good student discount, multiple policy discount, and discounts for cars with safety features, such as airbags and anti-lock brakes. Check the various online auto insurance quotes to see what discounts are available to you.

Another way to reduce your auto insurance premiums is to choose higher deductibles on your collision or comprehensive coverage; or, if you drive an older car with a low book value, to forgo collision and comprehensive completely. However, this is another area where choosing lower coverage may turn out to be expensive if you are at fault in an accident, so it's important to decide in advance what level of risk you are comfortable with.

Inexpensive Car insurance - At what Liability Limit?

By Joseph Welusz

You will never know how much insurance coverage you will need until you need it, so it's better to be safe than sorry. First let's take a look at what Auto Insurance Liability covers. There are two parts to your liability coverage the first is bodily injury liability and the second is property damage liability.

Bodily Injury liability includes the injury that are suffered due to on automobile accidents.

1. Emergency aid at the scene

2. Medical expenses for bodily injury

3. Compensation for loss of income

4. Final expenses

5. Lawyer Fees

Property Damage Liability covers the damage that is sustained in an accident:

1. Structural damage to homes, storefronts, etc.

2. Money to fix or replace other non-moving objects

3. Vehicle repair or replacement costs

So now the question is what limits of coverage do I need? Each state has there own minimum guidelines. Usually around $15,000/$30,000 $15,000 but that will vary by state. When you look at the coverage's I just wrote down you might be thinking there are three numbers there not two I don't understand. Bodily injury liability coverage comes in two forms either split limit coverage which is shown above or single limit coverage.

Split Limit coverage: Limits are split into two for bodily injury coverage and then there is a separate coverage for property damage. If you take the example from above $15,000/$30,000 coverage, the $15,000 represents the total amount of bodily injury coverage that will be paid out to any one person during an accident. The $30,000 represents the total amount of bodily injury coverage that will be paid out for the entire accident. If you had a single limit of coverage it would include a maximum to be paid out but no individual maximum and it could be divided however needed.

The number that always ends your liability coverage is your property damage limit in the above example it is represented by $15,000.

By this point you could probably sue how state limits that are usually 15,000/30,000/15,000 might not be adequate coverage. With medical cost and the price of automobiles and property rising you might want to consider higher limits.

100,000/300,000/50,000 is the most common amount of liability coverage within today. The cost to the consumer to go from state minimums to 100,000/300,000/50,000 of even more coverage isn't that much more expensive. It just makes sense to me to pay a little more now for more coverage. Rather then thousands more later. I was found at fault in an accident and caused, because I didn't have coverage to pay for all the expenses I caused to to the accident.

Cheap Medical Insurance

By Jeanie Martone

Browsing the web for cheap medical insurance may seem opposite to what common sense would suggest, but nowadays the internet is that best place to be when looking to buy, you are able to acquire real-time quotes, comparison shopping, and also see which cover would benefit you and your family to the highest degree.

The law states that any chosen plan MUST be given at the same price regardless where the deal was made, whether it be from a health insurance agency an insurance broker or insurance firm, it must be sold at the same price. You must note however that the final cost will depend on certain factors such as your medical records, age, and gender and how active/non active your life style is. So this is always beneficial to know before you start shopping around online.

Something to bear in mind when hunting around for cheap medical insurance is looking for sites that offer you free quotations. It is against the law to charge for this so do not be pulled in by anything they may be seeming to offer, it will only lead to disappointment. The best kind of company to look for is one that not only compares costs and finds you quotes designed for your specific needs and has the added bonus of after care. This way you are getting everything you need and have peace of mind at the end of the day.

When you enter these sites you should be faced with the same kind of layout and format and find that it is all relatively easy to navigate and work through. Every site will be split into three stages. Stage 1: Quotes ~ here you will be asked to fill out questions regarding yourself. Stage 2: Compare plans ~ you will be asked to fill out information about yourself and anyone else who you will be covering with this plan. You will be asked for the weight, height age and gender of every person who you wish to get cover, and also if they are smokers or non smokers, whether they are in full time employment, unemployed or currently a student. Stage 3: Applying online ~ you will be given all the options of the best plans for you to look through until you find one that is best for you.

Your insurance plan should come to you looking like this: company name- plan name - links to details - type of plan - deductible amount of money - co-insurance - co-pay - estimated monthly insurance premium. You will have many to look through so it may be helpful to use the search tool on the site which allows you to browse though the different plans using the above factors as keywords, this will enable you to look at the parts of the plan you really wish to compare.

Some sites that you visit will have a compare facility which just simply needs you to tick boxes next to the plans that you like the best. These sites are definitely the best ones to stick with as they give you everything you need and are easy to use.

Applying online really does make life a whole lot simpler, and let's face it we could all do with a bit more simplicity in today's world, especially when it comes to things like insurance. Applying online is quick and painless and you can have the documentation sent to you via email, by post or fax. When you use a site to apply online to check it is from a secure server just look at the URL box at the top of the screen and check the 'https' then off you go!

Normally with this kind of insurance you would have a very nice man or woman visit you in your home to talk you through everything, this makes you feel safe with what you are doing as you have someone 'real' there. Don't let that put you off buying cheap medical insurance online, it is far easier and you still get the same level of support as you would with the standard way of buying insurance, the only difference is that it leaves you with more time to enjoy life!

Final Expense Insurance: Why You Need It

By Dennis Foreman

Those of us near retirement age have seen thousands of ads for insurance products - term life policies, whole life, universal life, and on and on in a confusing parade. As young adults some of us bought one or more types of policies and have them still. Many did not, or through financial and health issues, lost our coverage.

You Have Another Chance To Be PrudentFinal Expense insurance gives us a second chance to plan sensibly for our own passing, and to express our concern for the well-being of those we leave behind. Not limited to limited just to burial costs, the flexibility of final expense insurance gives those we leave behind freedom to deal with many types of expenses, credit card debt, mortgage balances, medical bills, or even just as a gift to a family member.

"Average" Funerals Hard To Figure It is difficult to obtain reliable figures for current funeral services. Government numbers haven't been reported for several years, and practices vary widely around America. Just relying on an "average funeral price" of $8 - $10,000 is a poor way to plan. Costs in rural areas can be notably less while large city burials could easily cost more than double!

A Better Way To Discover Funeral Costs The best practice is to question your friends, minister or insurance professionals in your area about actual costs. Be certain that you discuss the level of service appropriate for you and your circumstances. It isn't fun to think about our passing yet you must plan now, or your loved ones will be forced to deal with these difficult issues at an especially difficult time.

Designed For Easy Issue Most of us in reasonable health between 50 and 80 can obtain final expense insurance. This is possible because the maximum amount of coverage is limited to $50,000, and by separating the policy types into two classes - guaranteed issue and simplified issue.

Medical Exam Not Required With Guaranteed Issue No one between 50 and 80 years of age is turned down for guaranteed issue policies. Everyone will qualify and no medical exam will be required when you apply for this type of policy. Most guaranteed issue policies have a waiting period of 2 - 3 years before death benefits can be paid out.

Guaranteed Issue Policies Have Drawbacks Rates are higher for guaranteed issue policies because the insuror doesn't know the health risks of the applicant. Another negative is the 2- 3 year waiting period required. Should the insured person pass away during the waiting period death benefits will not be payable. The premiums already paid in will then be refunded and interest on them is sometimes paid as well. Simply put, if you don't want to answer any health questions insurers are taking a bigger risk - they protect themselves will higher rates and a delay of benefits.

Reasonable Health Yields Lower Rates Reasonably healthy older people should try simplified issue final expense plans. They do ask some basic health questions but if you qualify premiums are less than guaranteed issue plans and the benefits are available immediately - there's no waiting period. Choose a simplified issue final expense insurance policy if you possibly can. You'll save money, be covered immediately and give your loved ones freedom and flexibility during a difficult time.

Factors To Consider In Travel Insurance - Validity Of The Travel Insurance

By Susan Reynolds

Commencing a journey is usually fraught with many uncertainties. It is a good idea to consider availing travel insurance. It might be needed anytime. It could however be quite trying to choose from the options open before you.The length of time for which you want to have travel insurance plays a vital role in choosing. In essence there are three types of policies. to choose from. These are single trip, annual multi-trip and extended stay. To arrive at a correct choice it is worth to understand all these three types.

In case of single trip travel insurance, you are covered for a single return journey. Discounts for children insurance are offered by these policies, and sometimes they do not charge anything at all. But this is subject to the condition that children are traveling with an adult who has taken the same policy.

For those of you who have to travel more often the best choice to be considered is Annual multi-trip policy. This enables you to travel frequently, even covering travel times of 24 to 90 days. It actually save you a good amount of money by avoiding extra cost. When you see that children are also covered without any charge and you are saved the trouble of buying policy each time you travel the advantage is obvious. It saves you from extra costs and is inexpensive.

There is another category of travelers which come from students, backpackers or those who are looking for work during their stay. Such travelers have the risk of losing their personal things. For this category it is best to choose Extended stay policy. It is quite elastic in scope and you can manage to wrap it in your budget. This group of travelers faces the danger of losing some of their personal items and would consider insuring them. Though in this policy you can not insure everything which is an inconvenience. But by excluding all those items which you don?t consider important you can save on your expenses. Just insure those things which you think are vital from your point of view. This policy does not cover those who intend to work during their stay or holiday. They have to buy a gap year policy which covers this angle.

Travel insurance policies insure you for a specified sum. For example medical expenses up to $20 million, luggage loss up to $16,00, trip cancellation up to $3000 may be covered for. Depending on the medical emergency the policy will cover your medical bills. If the condition is really grave only then you will be covered by the policy.

Before buying the policy proper you should give a serious thought to the number of times you have to travel in a year and your baggage. A right evaluation will enormously help you to make right choice. Do not compare your case with others as requirements differ from case to case. What works best for someone else may not be of any or much use to you and vice versa. With a correct picture of your needs you will be in a better position to choose the policy which tailors to you needs. Also read all the information given by the policy as all travel insurance policies differ in their terms and conditions, rules, and standards.

Buying A Legitimate Business Owners Insurance

By Caressa Waechter

A business owners insurance policy differs significantly from car insurance or medical insurance. Business insurance is vital when owning a business. All assets should be taken into consideration while choosing an insurance. The assets are usually investments that are not paid for, and are needed to help the business function properly.

Use caution while selecting a business owners insurance. There are always some insurance agencies that claim they will compensate if any tragedy happen, but when it is time for the business to cash in on the benefits, the insurance company will not pay up. There are many legitimate business owners insurance companies that are competing for your business, so find the right one for your situation.

Now that a business owner has chosen the right insurance carrier by doing some research on the various companies, there is the application process. The business owner must fill out an application, stating what assets are involved, as well as explaining exactly what the business does, and how many employees are employed. Then a business owner must allow the insurance company to know how much income is grossed annually.

Once the business owner signs the agreement with the insurance company, everything involved with the business should have coverage. For example, if the new business is a demolition company requiring large heavy equipment in order to operate the business. The first contract requires the removal of a sky scraper that was ruined due to natural storms. The business owner sends a crew, and the operator pulls out the bottom of the skyscraper, causing collapse of the building. This kills the operator and smashes the equipment. Your company will be covered, even in the event of this great loss.

All in all, business owners insurance may be one of the many headaches involved while starting a business, however without this type of insurance the business will sink like a rock to the bottom of the poor decisions business ocean. No matter what the circumstances it is always better to be safe than sorry.

What Cars Have The Best Car Insurance Rates?

By Amy Nutt

When consumers shop for a car, they dont usually consider if the type of car they buy will affect their insurance rates. The type of car you buy actually plays a part in whether you pay a high or low premium. If you are looking to acquire a reasonably priced insurance policy with your new car, it is important to know what cars have the best rates.

The nonprofit public service organization, The Highway Loss Data Institute, (HLDI) is a group that assesses vehicles for the insurance industry to find out which cars are a high risk. By high risk, they mean cars that are most likely to be stolen, involved in an accident as the result of a collision, and have a high number of injury claims filed. When assessing the risk of theft, the organization will look at such as aspects as the number of doors a car has as well as the color of the car.

The HLDI has found that "four door cars have a 93% less chance of having a claim related to theft than 2-door cars of the same make and model." As well, a report by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) found that "cars that have the least claims filed for theft include the Buick LeSabre, Volvo V70 Station Wagon, and the Mercury Grand Marquis."

According to HLDI, the lowest injury claims filed are large vehicles such as large cars, pickup trucks, and sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Many car retailers report that the following cars are the least expensive to insure:

- Chrysler PT Cruiser 4dr Wagon - Jeep Liberty Sport 4WD 4dr SUV - Saturn L300 1 4dr Sedan - Volvo S40 4dr Sedan - Saab 38600 Linear 2.3t 4dr SportWagon - Buick Century Special Edition 4dr Sedan - GMC Safari SLE AWD 3dr Minivan - Dodge Caravan SE 4dr Minivan - Saturn ION 1 4dr Sedan - Pontiac Sunfire 2dr Coupe

Vehicles that are among the least expensive for collision claims include:

Vehicle Models with some of the least expensive injury claims include:

- GMC Sierra 2500 2-wheel and 4 wheel drives - Chevrolet Silverado - GMC Yukon XL 1500 4-wheel - Chevy Tahoe 2-wheel

Surety Bonds Protect Clients From Contractual Defaults

By Caressa Waechter

If you have a business, then you'll surely want to protect its best interests. A surety bond is one way of doing this and choosing the correct surety bond company will help a lot. With the various surety bond companies in the market today, you might be confused with who to work with. However, if you exercise sound judgment then you will find a surety company for your needs.

Typically, the construction industry uses surety bonds for their projects. Simply speaking, a surety bond is just an agreement between the surety company, the contractor, and the owner. With a surety bond, the owner is guaranteed that his project will be finished by the contractor. Likewise, it also protects the owner when the contractor stops working on the project.

Surety bond companies are considered part of the insurance industry. The main role of these companies is to guarantee the commitment of the contractor to follow a contract. Some surety companies though may charge a premium for backing a contractor.

The risk associated with underwriting a contractor leads these companies to do extensive research on contractors they hold bond with. You can expect these surety companies to ask for references from the contractor as to their experience in completing a contract. Aside from this, surety companies will also investigate if the contractor has the necessary workforce and equipment to carry out the completion of the project. Other factors to be considered by surety companies include bank relationships, credit history, and current lines of credit.

When you want to use the service of a surety company, be sure to ask the opinions of other businessmen as to which surety company to use. From their opinions, conduct a research on the company and the contractors they have bonded in the past. You can also check with the US Treasury Department if the company is properly licensed or not. Similarly, you should look into the bonding process the company uses for selecting contractors.

Lastly, see to it that your communication lines are open with the surety bond company so they can properly underwrite the contractor and get you fully protected from any liabilities.

Health Insurance For Pregnant Women

By Tom Harkenshire

Although it is important for everyone to have a health insurance, it is particularly important in the context of pregnant women. The reason is obvious: there are many things that can go wrong during pregnancy, or could be made better if the woman is aware of certain facts. Therefore, it is essential that pregnant women periodically receive check-ups in order to make sure the pregnancy is progressing properly and there are no detectable problems with their unborn child.

Sadly, there is a large number of pregnant women who do not possess health insurance. This is not only dangerous to their own well being, but also risks the health of their offspring. Studies have shown that children born to women who have not been periodically checked by a doctor are more likely to have low birth weight, as well as higher incidents of death.

In fact, according to the AMA (American Health Association), 41 million Americans do not possess health insurance, this includes roughly 13% of pregnant women in the United States. These facts are tragic, since many unfortunate situations could be prevented if these women had possessed health insurance.

Prenatal checkups can be very expensive, not to mention hospital and delivery charges which could cost $10,000 or more. Furthermore, if there are complications, such as premature birth or the woman requires a cesarean section, the costs would be much greater. Therefore, it is strongly recommended for pregnant women to find a way to obtain health insurance.

One obstacle that uninsured pregnant women face is that most companies simply do not accept them, on the grounds that the pregnant is a pre-existing condition. Although there are ways to overcome this (which we will shortly discuss), ideally if you are an uninsured woman who intends to get pregnant soon, please obtain health insurance beforehand. This may save a lot of grief (and worse) later on. The following are a few useful and practical tips on how uninsured women may obtain health insurance:

First, use all the resources at your disposal: shop around, search the internet, ask physicians. There are health insurance companies who may be able to provide pregnancy health coverage and discounted health care coverage, you just need to find them. These days it is extremely easy to obtain health insurance quotes online from a long list of providers, so use this, and you are likely to find a health insurance that will accept you.

Second, there are some federally funded programs that can offer health insurance for low income people, and this includes pregnant women. Medicaid, for example, enables an uninsured pregnant woman to obtain health insurance coverage. It is important to state that some states have specialized programs for this purpose: if you are in such a situation, it would be a good idea to investigate and see whether your state offers such a program.

Third, check with other agencies. For example, WIC is a federal agency that enables low income women and children under 5 to obtain health services.

In conclusion, if you are in this position and yet are able to get several possible health plans, choose your plan carefully. Specifically, make sure your plans covers everything that you need (i.e. a hospital only plan will not cover visits to a physician's clinic).

Risks Not Covered Under International Students Medical Insurance Plans

By Ray Sondeo

Meritorious students can easily avail themselves of various scholarships and quality overseas education these days. But when faced with urgent medical emergencies on foreign soil, what would they do? Why, avail themselves of the international student insurance, of course!

This policy is ideal for overseas students who live in a regulated budget. This insurance policy conditionally remits all medical expenditures incurred by a student during the overseas studentship tenure. However, the overseas student is granted the lucrative insurance cover only if the claim adheres to certain exclusionary clauses.

An injury or ailment will not qualify for insurance cover if the related medical document is not provided to the company within 3 months of treatment. This clause judges the necessity and urgency of the treatment. The policy does not extend medical benefits for free treatments, or for treatments that incur exorbitant expenditures. A medical expenditure must be validated and prescribed by a physician to qualify for insurance cover.

Medical treatments that are of an unnecessary nature are not covered by the international students insurance. This would immediately exclude any operations or treatments for cosmetic modifications. It also includes treatments undertaken for scientific study or in the pursuit of any experimental objective.

Injuries received due to conscious violation of legal and political rights are also not covered by international student insurance. So, the insurance policy would not pay for any instance that is deemed willful injury. Injuries sustained in war, while pursuing criminal or terrorist activities are not offered financial insurance cover. The policy also does not extend its medical benefits if the injury/ illness are treated in the student?s native country.

The medical treatment would not receive financial benefits if it incorporates alternative/ experimental medication. This clause effectively disqualifies sensory therapeutics like aromatherapy and music therapy. A doctor?s certificate is also mandatory if you want to receive financial coverage for medical expenditure incurred. So do not self-treat yourself, or ask quacks to attend to you.

You are also not advised to demand insurance cover for injuries sustained in pursuit of adventures sports. High risk sports automatically disqualify any insurance cover for medical expenses incurred. If such activities are likely, riders that cover sports and hazardous activities may be added on to some policies at the time of purchase.

Regular diagnostic check-ups do not qualify for insurance cover, unless in connection with a disease/ illness. Medical and substance abuse, and alcoholism treatment expenditures are also to be borne by the policyholder. These are some basic clauses that would disqualify any application for insurance cover for international students.

Four Ways To Get Cheap Auto Insurance

By Joseph Welusz

It is possible to save hundreds of dollars each year by locating cheap auto insurance. Most people do not change auto insurance providers because of the hassle associated with changing over. It is more convenient for them to stay with the same insurance they have always had. There are really four things you can do to find cheap auto insurance. You can reduce your coverage on older cars, check for discounts, shop around and compare different insurance providers or have a higher insurance deductible.

To compare which auto insurance is the least expensive you will need to shop around and compare different companies. Purchasing inexpensive auto insurance does not mean you should be getting bad insurance or auto insurance that is similar to having no insurance at all.

Understanding the terms and conditions is as important as a great starting rate, which may quickly rise after a brief introductory period. It is also a smart move to understand how to process a claim if you should need to. Some things to look for are how long it takes for a claim to be processed, when you can expect payment from claims and how to make a claim or if there is a time period involved with claims.

Many insurance companies will offer discounts to help increase their market share. Many times discounts are available for those that have participated in a defensive driver-training program or if you have a good driving record. Additionally many times there are discounts if you have safety devices or anti theft devices in your vehicle. Almost all companies offer low mileage discounts.

The amount of your deductible will affect the cost of your auto insurance. Most auto owners chose a low deductible so that when they make a claim they will have to pay very little from their own pocket. If you have a higher deductible and higher collision then you can significantly decrease the premium you are saving each year, it is possible to save up to $1,000 each year.

Older cars may not need to have as much coverage as newer cars because their value is much less. You need to compare the value of your car with the cost of having full comprehensive or collision insurance. If the cost of insurance is the same or more then the value of your car it may be a good idea to reduce the coverage on your car.

When to get Supplemental Dental Insurance

By Stefanie Anderson

Supplemental dental insurance is a must even if you already have dental insurance. Most people think that their dental needs are covered by their health insurance plans. While there are some that do have dental coverage, most of your dental works will not be covered by the average health insurance plan. If you want to lower your dental costs, then you should get one.

Supplemental dental insurance coverage is not covered by your primary dental plan. The coverage helps you cover the costs of unexpected dental procedures that your insurance won't cover. There are many different types of this coverage, but if should be up to you to choose one that meets your dental needs.

Taking the worry from unexpected dental costs is the reason you may consider supplemental coverage. This plan allows you to be covered for all dental costs that may arise due to unexpected procedures and costs. People rely on this plan so they have full control on their dental care and prevent spending tons of money. To save yourself the high costs of dental care, you should consider getting supplemental coverage.

Supplemental coverage is not like the usual plan you get from your employer, it is directly procured by you. That requires you to research, contact the insurance company and asking the right questions. The coverage is voluntary and it is an additional coverage that you will have to pay. Some employers offer the coverage, but employees can opt not to start with it.

Supplemental dental insurance is perfect in todays workplace where employees dont stay that long with a company. The cost of insurance is too high that employers cut dental coverage from their companys insurance plans. The lack of dental coverage makes employees look for alternatives.

Supplemental dental insurance is perfect for self-employed workers and business owners. For self-employed workers, this type of dental coverage helps them have some sort of dental care that they would otherwise use their own money on. As for business owners, insurance companies can set up voluntary dental plans for the employees.

Small Business Insurance - Kinds To Consider

By Caressa Waechter

Is your company covered in the case of a fire in your office? What if an employee is badly injured while at work? There are some types of small business insurance you should definitely make sure that you have.

You will want insurance so you can pay for protection from certain accidents rather than have to go bankrupt because you waited until something does happen. You have insurance on your house, right? How is your business any different? You don't want to lose it. Go out first thing and get a good insurance agent to work with you. They will most likely find you a package deal that has everything you will need. Make sure they have a good reputation, though.

Property and liability insurance are the first you will need. If you own the building your office is in, you need a property policy. It will cover your building, personal objects like supplies, equipment, furniture, etc. You will also be covered for earthquake and flood depending on your location. A liability policy will provide protection for you in the case of an accidental fire like if an electronic is left on and shorts. Also covered would be any mistakes or omissions that could constitute things like malpractice.

There are also insurances tailored to providing for and attracting employees. Worker's compensation is mandatory by law if you have any employees at all. This will cover the costs and damages in the event a worker is injured on the job. Offering good health insurance options is good for getting employees as well. It is often difficult to find health coverage on your own outside of work. You could also look into auto insurance for any company vehicles.

Many problems can arise and harm a small company. You could be sued or have a fire destroy your office. Aren't you glad you now know to get small business insurance?

The road to health

By Jeff Cline

With just a little commitment the road to good health can be a smooth journey. I will give you ways to avoid roadblocks and shortcuts to get you there faster. You may want to achieve good health, but just need a little push down the right road.

One of the first things you can do is to recognize your bad habits. I have always believed that if you write them down you hold yourself more accountable for them. So whether it is smoking, drinking soft drinks or being a couch potato, recognizing the problem is the first step.

One very important thing to keep in mind to ward off getting discouraged is that it takes about six months of consistent commitment to create a new habit or change an old one. This is why you must me so patient.

One way we can become more healthy is monitoring what we eat. What we put into our bodies is important to our health. Becoming aware of good and bad food is key to learning to eat more healthy.

One of the most obvious ways to start down the path of good health is getting in shape. Many recommend exercising at least 3 days a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. But making small daily changes in your routine can make a difference. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or park in the last parking spot and walk.

One part of the health road that can make all the other parts bumpy, that many do not think about is stress and anxiety. We all face it from time to time. How we deal with it makes a huge difference in our lives.

Relaxation is key to handling stress. Make time to relax. Make it part of your daily routine. Read a book, soak in the tub, take a walk or learn to meditate. It is a great way to deal with the stresses of life.

A good way to make sure you are staying in good health ins to get your annual physical. An annual physical will reveal any trouble areas so that you can address them and make changes.

Most Common Variables Considered When Calculating Car Insurance Rates

By Amy Nutt

Car insurance is necessary for every person who owns and drives a vehicle. In just about every jurisdiction, the law requires that you own auto insurance. It protects both you and other drivers from loss that may arise due to the negligence or actions of others.

Some people believe that price is the most important factor when considering car insurance. Although the price of the policy is an important factor, it is not necessarily the most important factor. What you pay as a rate is based on the risk assessment that the insurance company performs during underwriting. The assessment involves a process of evaluating you as a driver and making a determination of the probability that you will cause a loss.

Insurance is a contract of indemnity. What this means is its purpose is to indemnify, or restore you to your original value at the time of loss. The principle of indemnity means that the policy covers the insurable interest you have as policy owner, namely the vehicle you drive. Without this insurable interest, there would be nothing to insure. For example, a person that is involved in an automobile accident who is in no way related to you does not create a situation where you are exposed to loss. Therefore, no insurable interest exists and there is no need for insurance.

Based on the concept of indemnity and risk assessment, the insurance company wants to know some things about you. How old are you? What is your driving record? What are your driving habits? How far and how often do you travel by car? All of these factors, as well as others are important for the insurer to consider as they consider your premium rate. They are also the most common rating factors used to calculate your premium.

Insurance companies employ actuaries whose job it is to mathematically determine the probability of loss. Another concept regarding insurance is that it is an aleatory contract. This word is derived from a Latin word 'aleator' which literally means 'dice thrower' or 'chance.' This means that your premium is a hedge against a probability or the chance that a loss may occur. It also means that if that loss occurs, as long as you have met all of the conditions of the contract, the insurance company must pay the claim.

The more times that you are exposed to loss, the higher the chance that loss will occur. It is like determining the likelihood of drawing a queen out of a standard deck of 52 cards, which is a 1 in 13 or 8% chance. If you were going to draw a queen out of a deck of two cards, that probability jumps to 50% or 1 in 2. The greater the probability of something happening, the less ideal it becomes as an insurable risk. The more you drive, the longer you drive, coupled with having a lot of speeding tickets indicates that you are a larger risk to the insurance company - a 1 in 2 as oppose to a 1 in 13 - and will be charged more premium. There are other factors that go into premium calculation, but understanding loss exposure gives you an ideal as to why an insurance company charges what it does.

Driving Lessons Will Get Your Ready For The Road

By Nathan Lewit

When your child reaches driving age, it is in their best interest to take independent lessons. They should have as much real time knowledge as possible before actually becoming a driver. Most localities require a teen driver to procure a learners permit before getting a full license. The statistics on teen driving aren't good. They show that male drivers under the age of 20 are 75% more likely to have a vehicular accident than their adult and female counterparts. Aa driving lessons will get your student ready for the road.

With statistics like these, it is essential that your children get good instruction before ever getting behind the wheel of a car. Teenage driving should be looked at as a privilege, not a right. Until recent years, public schools offered drivers education courses to all students who were of age. Due to the rise in insurance to cover these young drivers, many school districts have had to cancel these programs. It is now on the parents shoulders to send their children to drivers school.

When you first get to driving school, you will be instructed on the essential truths about the risks of teenaged driving. Often, counties or localities mandate that a driver receive a provisional license before starting a car. Because of this, a student has to receive instruction on driving basics first. In the beginning, you will learn basic principals that everyone has to know in order to drive. Laws may vary, depending on location.

You will learn about lights and signals, right of way and stop sign procedures. You will learn about the different parts of the vehicle that you have control over and how to master these tools. You may have a mock automobile section in your classroom. This is a very valuable tool. This will allow you to get the true sense of getting behind the wheel without being out loose in the world.

Once you have passed preliminary exams that let your instructor know you are prepared to drive in real time, you will get on the road. You will be driving in a vehicle that has been specially equipped with dual driving controls. This is to provide protection to you, the instructor and the vehicle. In the event something goes wrong or the instructor thinks you need help, he/she will be able to take over immediately.

When on road instruction begins, the student will start on courses or in lots. This allows for full understanding of how controls and signals work before getting out in the real world. After you have proven yourself worthy, your instructor will release you to drive on the roads.

Usually, you will drive on back roads and in unpopulated areas to get some time on the roads with the least chance of accidents. Your instructor will split time between classroom instruction and behind the wheel training. The further you progress, the more time you will spend behind the wheel. Instruction time is usually about 20 hours of classroom training and 20-30 hours of driving time.

When you have completed your on road and classroom instruction, your trainer will administer a test. This will prepare you for the actual tests that you'll have to pass to get your license. You will usually have 3 attempts to pass your drivers test before having to go for more instruction. Listen well, be alert and you'll do just fine.

Insuring An Imported Car

By Tom Martens

If you have purchased or planned to purchase an imported car, getting the vehicle insured is a priority. However, insuring an imported vehicle can be difficult, frustrating and expensive. But, it?s not impossible. Just be prepared to work hard, ask questions and possibly contact several insurance providers.

While you can often get a good deal on the purchase of an imported car, you may lose the money you save on the purchase price by having to pay higher insurance premiums. That's why you should shop around and get several quotes to find the most competitive rate. If you are importing a sports care, you almost certainly will pay more for coverage. That's because sports cars are more prone to crashes.

Most insurance companies will insure an imported car as long as they can locate the car?s registration number. If they cannot locate the registration number, then see if the insurance company can find the exact vehicle model in the company look up table. If that does not work, then see another insurance provider.

Some companies will only offer policies for the most popular models, and then only for market value. Other companies will write policies for modified imported vehicles as long as the modifications are not "substantial." If the modifications are deemed "substantial," then you probably need to find a carrier specializing in substantially modified imported cars. One carrier may rate your modifications are "substantial," while another may not. That's why it can be very important to do you research.

Also, some companies will not insure imported vehicles that are European versions of a UK car, with a left-hand drive, the idea being that if you wanted that model, you should have bought it with a right-hand drive to drive in the UK. That is another thing to keep in mind as you import your vehicle and get your insurance.

It is also very important to check your security fittings. These could have a great impact on your vehicle's eligibility for coverage, not to mention the cost of the policy. Not having the right security fittings will either raise your premiums dramatically, or cause the company to reject your car for coverage altogether. Make sure you get detailed information on security fittings before you import your car.

While insuring your import may be time-consuming and expensive, it's not impossible. Do your research. Ask Questions. Call your importer and ask for their advice for obtaining insurance. And if you are importing a sports car, you can often get insurance at a discounted rate simply by joining a car club. Clubs often make deals with insurance companies for their members?ask about the benefits available to you. Finally, make sure you get comprehensive coverage for your imported vehicle. You imported car is an expensive investment, and it needs thorough insurance protection.

What Is A Skilled Nursing Facility? Skilled Nursing Facility Facts To Know

By Robert Smith

When it comes to finding the right elder care solution for someone that you care about, it is important to consider all of your options. Skilled nursing facilities, or nursing homes, offer intensive care 24-hours a day and must be licensed by the state in order to meet safety, staffing, and care standards. It is estimated that 1.5 million people in the United States currently reside in nursing homes.

Some services provided by skilled nursing facilities are: nursing care, including care coordination, injections, ventilator care, and medication administration, medical and dental care including-ray, pharmacy, laboratory and routine dental services, and rehabilitation, including occupational, physical, and speech therapy. Other types of care routinely provided include personal care, dietary consultation, social activities, and supervision and custodial care.

Cost is usually a factor in every care decision. Individuals with long-term care insurance have the ability to pay reduced rates for care, and can save significant amounts of money over time. To see if your loved one qualifies, contact their insurance broker. You may be able to qualify for Medicaid, but requirements vary by state so it makes sense to start exploring this option ahead of time.

Another option, Medicare, only pays for SNF care when it is classified as medically necessary, but does not pay for residential, non-emergency care after twenty days. Care decisions can be difficult, so be sure to consider all of your options and the wishes of your loved one, your family members, and physicians recommendations before deciding. If you fee overwhelmed you should consult a service to help with option choices.

Skilled nursing facilities are typically located within a hospital. Skilled nursing facilities are establishments with permanent facilities including inpatient beds. Services provided include medical services, and continuous nursing services to provide treatment for patients

How Car Insurance Policy Renewals Will Save You Cash

By Thomas Valverde

The economy is down and people are scrambling to save money on everything from groceries to their morning coffee, but have you taken a look at your car insurance policy in a while? The truth is your insurance policy comes up every six months and every time you have an opportunity to get a new rate, update your coverage or start a policy with a new company and save money every month that you may have never thought of before.

Most insurance policies come up for renewal every six months, and when they do the insurance company just automatically renews your policy unless you tell them otherwise. They do this so they keep your rate locked in regardless of whether or not car insurance rates go up or down at the same time. If rates go up you obviously want to keep the policy you have, but if they go down you really are missing a great opportunity to shop around and see if you can save some money.

I know most people would rather have a root canal than to shop for car insurance but the world is changed and we no longer have to meet with salespeople and fill out forms to get an insurance quotes, now the bigger insurance companies (and some of the smaller ones) have websites that will give you a quote with just a few questions and about 10 to 15 minutes of your time that's not so bad is it? Heck, you can roll out of bed and shop for a new insurance policy while drinking your morning coffee.

Every insurance company will act as though their car insurance rates are the cheapest and the best, and perhaps theyre right but like you wouldn't take a car salesman's word on the cheapest price you shouldn't take car insurance companies word for it either. Spend an hour or so comparing at least two or three companies rates and coverages and make sure that you are getting the best deal. Some companies offer better rates to regions other companies charge more for.

Bottom line, if you want to save money in this tough economy take a look at the policy you currently have and do some shopping the next time it is up. Just be sure that you get the same coverage and don't just base your purchase on price, you'll regret it if you ever need your coverage!

Compare New York Car Insurance Quotes Today!

By Ricardo Liguriano

Has it been a while since you compared car insurance prices? Are you wondering if you could save on your premiums by making changes to your car insurance policy? The best way to get those questions answered is to check online resources and get a personalized quote.

New York residents will find plenty of websites that provide New York car insurance quotes and helpful information on choosing a policy to suit their needs. As with so many other important purchases we make in life, the cheapest option may not always be the best. The goal in shopping for a car insurance policy is to make sure you have the protection you need, at a competitive price.

You'll want to have some basic information handy to get a quote online: your driver's license number, the exact make and model of each car you want to insure, your Social Security number, and dates and details of any accidents you've had in the last few years.

Buying other insurance -- such as homeowner's, renter's, boat, or ATV coverage -- from the same provider will usually result in discounts on both policies. Many factors come together in determining the final price of your policy, so depending on your situation you may be surprised at how reasonable your New York car insurance quotes turn out to be.

Getting a quote online can also help you find out which discounts may be available to you: many companies offer discounts if you have been accident-free for a number of years, if you are a full-time student with a qualifying GPA, or if you have safety features installed on your car, such as airbags, anti-lock brakes, or daytime running lights.

You'll find that New York car insurance quotes are considerably lower for a liability-only policy, but if you choose this option you'll have to be ready to cover your own expenses if your car is stolen, vandalized, or damaged in an accident where you are at fault.

The legal miniumum required for liability coverage in New York state is Bodily Injury Liability of $25,000 per person or $50,000 per accident, and Property Damage Liability of $10,000. You'll see this written as 25/50/10 on your New York car insurance quotes. However, choosing a policy that provides higher levels of protection is usually recommended, especially if you have assets to protect.

These qualities make them an ideal escort for those who are single in life as well as to couples who are just planning to start their own brood. Babies to older adults will not have a hard time adjusting to their presence.

Studies show that a dog's behavior as an adult is a result of his breeding and training. Because you can't do anything anymore about a dog's breed since it is an inherent part of his personality, you just have to make sure that he was trained well in his younger days so that you won't be experiencing any attitude problems when he is already a full grown adult. This is a big consideration to mull over when you want to get another puppy in the future. Here is a list of puppy training secrets that you must know in order to have a well-mannered pet in the future.

Before anything else, you must first establish a good rapport with your pet. Do not immediately start ordering difficult tricks that will make him want to scamper away with his tail between his legs. Set the mood first by playing with him, cuddling him and stroking his tummy. When he seems to be well rested and relaxed, you can start the drill by taking away his freedom. This might sound harsh but you have no choice if you want to impose discipline in his life.

Tie him with a leash, put him inside a dog kennel or put him in a crate to demonstrate that you mean serious business. Initially, he might get a little raucous and yowl until the early hours of the morning. This is more evident especially if they have lived a very free lifestyle. Force yourself to play deaf to this kind of pain. Sooner than you can say "silence", they will realize that all their whimpering will have no effect on you. This will instill the fact that you are the chief and he is the mere subordinate who must follow orders. It won't be long before they get used to this situation and will look forward to your arrival.

Second, teach him a simple trick followed by a treat. The treat could come in the form of a small chewable bone or a piece meat. Just like the classic conditioning method by renowned psychologist Ivan Pavlov, they will learn to associate the new trick with food. This will stroke their interest and whet their appetite for more food.

Third, you can turn 180 degrees and let your dog learn through the negative conditioning method. Utilize this method by saying the words no, stop and don't in a loud and commanding tone. They will make a distinction that it is something important in relation to your voice.

Fourth, you have to be unswerving in your reward or punishment. When you either of the two, make sure that it is appropriate to the excellent job or the awful deed. Variety should be avoided at all cost or else your dog will develop some kind of a crisis. The same premise applies to all the people in your household.

Lastly, give choices. If there are tricks or tasks that he can't easily act upon like not digging the front lawn or backyard, then provide another alternative like another digging space beside the dog house yard.

By Ray Sondeo

Many travelers make the mistake of assuming that their primary health insurance covers medical expenses that are incurred abroad. In reality, many companies will not cover incidents that occur while traveling. Investing in health insurance for visitors will help protect travelers from unexpected expenses and illnesses.

Often times, visitors do not realize the importance of visitors medical insurance until an accident or illness has already struck. These kinds of unforeseen problems can not only ruin a vacation, but also dramatically deplete a person or families? finances. This is why it is so important for travelers to protect themselves with visitors insurance.

Visitor medical insurance may turn out to be a significant investment if the insured suffers from an illness or accident during their travels. Conditions such as a heart attack or stroke can happen any time and in any part of the world, no matter how safe a traveler thinks he or she is being. Online Shopping is Easier Than Ever for Medicare Supplement Insurance!

By Derrick Johnson

Modern technology may be changing the senior insurance market forever. More and more retirees are going online to research products before they make a purchase. The main goal is to be able to shop and make a decision in a pressure free environment.

Medicare Supplement Insurance, also known as Medigap is a reasonably simple product. The Federal Government standardized these products in the early 1990s. Each Medicare Supplemental plan is designated by a specific letter. There are 12 plan options and they are labeled A-L. Simply put, all similarly lettered Medigap plans do exactly the same thing.

For decades, seniors were inappropriately considered to lack the education and general knowledge to make financial decisions without the assistance of an expert advisor. Although this was really never true, many seniors were lacking in confidence and went along with this stereotype. Times are changing.

The baby boomer generation has begun to enter their retirement years and they are a more confident group that ever before. Modern seniors are easily offended by the stereotype that they are not sophisticated enough to make financial decisions on their own. Researching online prior to making purchases has become very popular with todays retiree.

Medicare Supplement products are a good product for seniors to educate themselves via the Internet. Todays search engines provided more than enough information to learn about this simple product. The Internet offers a no pressure environment for researching Medigap plans.

The days of the old neighborhood insurance agent sitting at the table may be over, but the need for good advise still exists. The Medicare and Medicare Supplement market changes frequently in this modern era. Understanding the needs of the modern senior a good advisor will listen to their needs and desires while providing useful and up to date information.

Baby boomers are now using email to communicate, they are "tweeting" with their friends and family and developing confidence in the Internet. What better product than Medigap insurance to practice their new online shopping skills?

The Benefits and Complications of a Gastric Bypass Surgery

By Bart Icles

Gastric bypass surgery (GBP) is a medical procedure used to address cases of morbid obesity and the health problems it causes. This type of treatment makes up only one class of an operation under Bariatric surgery, which encompasses all surgical treatments for morbid obesity. It involves in dividing the stomach into two segments, the smaller upper pouch and a much larger, lower "remnant" pouch, followed by a restructuring of the intestines to let the pouches remain connected to it. It is considered as the last option for people who aren't able to lose weight through traditional diets and exercises.

This surgical procedure is mostly applicable for individuals with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of more than 35%-40% but not all obese individuals can qualify for gastric bypass surgery. Candidates are examined thoroughly by a staff of medical specialists that may include a physician, surgeon, psychologist, and a dietitian, and made to undergo a battery of tests before being cleared for the procedure. The patient's medical history, present health risks, and psychological make-up are ascertained if gastric bypass surgery is the correct option to take. People with moderate weight concerns should not opt for this drastic procedure if a simple diet change and exercise regimen can lead to a significant weight loss.

Gastric bypass surgery is not by all means an ideal substitute for diet and exercise, but as a procedure to help correct serious health risks and complications brought about by being overly obese. Yet patients who undergo such a procedure are made to follow a strict diet and exercise program to help lose weight sufficiently. The resulting weight reduction within a year after surgery varies from individual patients, with majority losing about 50% to 90% of excess body weight. Common problems associated with obesity such as sleep apnea, hypertension, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, lower back and joint pain are usually resolved on their own, giving them a quality way of life they never had prior to the procedure.

As with any surgical procedure, gastric bypass surgery comes with possible risks and complications, some serious enough not to take for granted. Some of the serious risks involved include infection, hemorrhage, bowel obstruction, blood clotting, dumping, and death. Lesser complications may include hernia, dehydration, vitamin deficiency, vomiting, and gallstone formation.

Gastric bypass surgery is an irreversible procedure which needs for the patients complete understanding what important, severe lifestyle and physical changes accompany it. Patients may never again experience any normal digestive function and eating habits. Because of this psychological impact, gastric bypass surgery patients are advised to join help and support groups to help them adjust, cope, and deal with its complications effectively.

The Advantages of a Charitable Remainder Unitrust

By Hank Brock

A Charitable Remainder Unitrust (CRUT) is used to provide an income to a non-charitable beneficiary while at the same time transferring the remainder interest to a qualified charity.

The donor would permanently transfer securities or property to a trustee. The trustee, in return, would reimburse the donor (or other income beneficiary) income from the property for life.

The donor could also provide that if he or she predeceased a spouse, the spouse in turn would receive income from the donated property for life. The donor would receive payments based on a fixed percentage of the fair market value of the assets placed in trust. The assets would be revalued each year.

Further Contributions

The CRUT differs from the Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust (CRAT) because it may continue to collect assets in later years and the stream paid out must be a minimum of 5% of the yearly reappraised value of the corpus.

Consequently the CRUT, depending on the reappraised value of the corpus and accumulated income, can allocate greater or lesser amounts of income while the CRAT pays a set sum of income that never fluctuates in amount.

Appreciation

The quantity of the payment to the non-charitable beneficiary can increase each year if the value of the corpus and income continues to appreciate. For that reason, the CRUT is an efficient method of fighting inflation. On the other hand, if the value of the assets continues to decrease in value over so many years, the CRUT may actually pay less income to the non-charitable beneficiary than was initially proposed.

If a grantor requests to guarantee a yearly increase in the value of the income payment to the non-charitable beneficiary, the grantor should finance the corpus of such a trust with assets that pay a guaranteed rate of return.

Getting the Best Home Security System Products For Contractors

By Matt Peters

Many people will be turned off by the idea of building a house if their contractors cannot offer some kind of security system in their standard service offerings. Even the simplest of alarm systems can help in the decision-making process for most customers.

To be able to compete in the industry, contractors must offer better incentives to gain more business. It's like selling a car; if you sell it with a car alarm, the chances will be greater that you will make a sale.

What Can You Offer?

There are different home security system products for contractors to offer their future homeowner customers. Aside from the usual alarm system that can be installed in a home, contractors can also offer to hard-wire the home ahead of time just in case the homeowner would like to install a hard-wired system in the future. This means installing all the needed cables that run through the walls and parts of the ceiling.

This will also save the contractors a lot of time from having to come back in the future to tear down the walls just to include the wiring. All the customer has to do in the future is buy all the components for a hard-wired system (which may include motion sensors and cameras) and he or she can install it themselves or opt for the same contractors to help in the installation process. In any event, it will be easier to set up since all the cables were built in with the construction of the house.

While construction is going on, the contractor may offer the components to be installed. This might raise the cost of the house slightly and much discussion and negotiation will probably take place. Less expensive home security options can also be offered, such as electronic door locks or pre-set silent alarms. With these security options, contractors stand the chance of getting a bigger profit.

Repeat Business

Home security system products for contractors to offer to homeowners is a good way to keep customers satisfied and to promote repeat business. If a contractor shows dedication and concern by offering home security options and also gives a good price for alarms, cameras, etc. then this will translate to more business transactions between the contractor and the same homeowners. Their services might also be referred to other people seeking to have homes built with security already in the package.

As mentioned above, there are various home security products to choose from, based on the customer's needs. This is just as well because they can attract more profit into their business if they start to compete with home security shops who only offer one kind of service.

Having home security products while construction is being done gives peace of mind to the client. If you are a contractor who is looking to step up the game just a notch, then offer home security system products to your present and future customers.

Why is Car Insurance so High for Teenagers?

By Amy Nutt

Car insurance can be expensive at any age. One group of drivers where the rates tend to be the highest is teenagers. If you have a teenager who is about to start driving, it is important to explain why their car insurance premium is so high.

Statistics show that teenage drivers are higher risk drivers therefore they are a higher risk to insure. Statistical research has shown that drivers under the age of 20 are three times more likely to be involved in an accident. According to the CDC, "in 2005, over 4,500 teen deaths were a result of injuries sustained during an automobile accident, and 400,000 suffered nonfatal injuries. As well, teens in 2005 accounted for only 10% of the population but were victims of 12% of fatalities caused by motor vehicle accidents."

Boys under the age of 20 are at a greater risk of getting into an accident. Statistics also show that young male teens under the age of 20 are more at risk of violating such traffic laws as speeding, and they tend to drive more at night when there is a higher risk of an accident. For young people who just start to drive, they tend to make a number of driving mistakes. Teenage drivers are twice as likely to have an accident within their first year of driving, than a driver over the age of 25. Therefore their premium reflects the risk. Lack of experience and recklessness are two of the main factors affecting the price of a teens insurance premium.

Insuring your teenager could lead to insurance rates doubling. There are a number of methods one can employ to lower a teens car insurance premium. Not all insurance companies offer the same price, so make sure that you shop around to compare insurance rate quotes. You should be aware of discounts that may be offered. Students who maintain a "B" (3.0) grade point average can often receive a savings of up 20% off their insurance premium. Most insurance companies will provide savings for a teen that completes a student safety driver program from a certified and recognized driving institute.

The type of vehicle also determines the price of the premium. New and expensive cars will result in a high premium. A teen should drive an older car and maintain a clean driving record so that when they are ready to upgrade to a newer car, premiums will not be so high.

Many parents add their children to their policy. Adding a teen to a parents car insurance policy should involve explaining the type of car incidents that can increase a car insurance premium Parents can also require that the teen pays for the increase in the premium. This will give the teen incentive to obey traffic laws to avoid any further increases in the premium. Insurance companies will also include mileage as a factor. Keeping mileage low will keep your premiums low. Parents can set driving limits regarding how long the teen can use the car.

Car insurance for teen drivers does not have to cause your premium to skyrocket. When you and your teen are aware of the many ways you can lower your premiums and you implement them, it will help reduce insurance costs Taking time to explain why car insurance rates for teenagers will teach them fiscal responsibility and keep them safe when they are driving.

In the frivolous vein, the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes joined with thousands of participants at the Hummingbird Center in Toronto to form the world's longest kick line, while Arulanantham Suresh Joachin and Tiffany Lesko set a record for another kind of dancing, winning the world's longest dance marathon by a couple at 31 hours and one minute.

Sticking with the dance theme, instructors from Toronto's Davar Indo Jazz Dance Movement taught the world's biggest dance class.

The fastest marathon time with a baby buggy and the world record for joggling are both held by Toronto resident Michal Kapral. He pushed a baby buggy for a marathon time of 2 hours, 49 minutes and 43 seconds, while he jogged while juggling three beanbags ten kilometers - and never dropped a bag.

Do You Qualify For Life Insurance?

By Susan Reynolds

You can save a lot of money with health insurance policies. You will not need to pay those expensive hospital and medical bills. All such expenses will be handled by your policy. It is important to get approved for the policy before you can hope to take all these advantages. If you are in good health, you can very easily get enrolled for a health insurance policy. On the other hand, if you are not keeping well with your health, you would find it difficult to avail this facility.

The premium amount is also lower for the younger group of people. They also get a full coverage for most treatments. The scene is very different with older lot of people, who need to pay huge amounts every month and are still not eligible for full coverage insurance. No cover is provided for the pre-existing ailments either.

Your profession also determines your approval of a health insurance policy. A school teacher would find it easier to get a policy as against a car driver. This is because a school teacher puts lesser stress on himself and lives a healthier life compared to a car driver. Insurance companies are on a look out for profit, and they can certainly not earn it with people susceptible to ailments. Hence, these companies do not prefer the ailing and old people. A smoker, drinker or a person suffering with diseases such as AIDS, Cancer etc will also be shown a red signal by the insurance companies.

Your residence and the surrounding around it, is also taken into consideration. If you live in a healthy area, you earn good points for your approval. Similarly, in case you have pollution around your residence, you will put your insurance company off. If you have a few smoke industries around your house, you are hoping against the hope to get an approval for your health insurance policy.

Your age also determines the approval or denial of your policy. If you are young, you have every chance of having your policy approved. However, if you are ageing, you are more prone to diseases and would therefore not be a good business prospect for the insurance companies.

Your gender may also be considered by a few companies. Women are believed to live fitter and healthier than men. This leads to women living longer than men.

Your marital status is another area of concern to the insurance companies. Married men are considered to live a better life than married women. These companies believe that married men are not prone to ailments as much as the married women are.

The above discussed points are called the risk factors. You need to score low on these points to be able to get an approval. A high score would certainly not do you any good to get the health insurance policy that you need.

Assessment Of Risk With Life Insurance

By Graham McKenzie

So many people apply for life insurance policies, but only a few of them get approved for the same. It is certainly not the easiest of jobs to get a life insurance policy. You may have enough money to pay the premiums, but it does not make you eligible for the policy. Your application for a life insurance will be assessed and analyzed. In other words, a thorough underwriting would be done on the application. Underwriting consists of the risk analysis to approve the application, and the decision on appropriate premium amounts to be paid by the individual.

Companies hires experts, called the underwriters to do the underwriting for them. At the end of the day, insurance companies need to earn profits that make them so choosy about accepting life insurance applications. There are three steps involved in the process of underwriting which are examine the application, decision to insure or not, determine the premium. Below is a discussion on these steps.

The first step needs the companies to gather information about the applicant. The application needs to be examined against many parameters, such as marital status, sex, type of living area, age, and current health status and so on. All these parameters are looked into one by one, and a final conclusion is then drawn.

After the details are collected, the decision making phase starts. Here all the parameters are gauged one by one, and the applicant is remarked for each parameter. These parameters are also known as the risk factors. For an applicant to have his application approved, he must score low on these risk factors. Although each of the risk factors has its own weight and importance, it is common belief that most insurance companies emphasize more on the age and health of the applicant. A young age and a good health of the applicant make it easy for the insurance company to approve the application. Similarly, an old aged and ailing applicant may not get a nod fro the insurance company. Living environment is another aspect considered by the companies. A good living environment implies that the applicant would suffer lesser ailments, and hence live long. As against this, a polluted and unhygienic living environment creates doubts in the minds of the insurance company. The gender of the applicant can also play a role at times. Many companies believe that women live healthier and fitter than men, for they do not take depressions. Interestingly, married men are believed to live a healthier life than the married women, indicating that the marital status also plays a role in the approval or denial of the insurance policy application. Lastly, the living habits of the customer also determine the fate of the application. If the applicant is a smoker and/or drinker, the chances of an approval are bleak.

The above risk factors also help in determining the premium amounts for the individual. A high score would get the individual to pay higher premiums. A young and healthy individual normally pays lower premiums as compared to an old ailing individual.

It is the most commonly adopted form of protection from unexpected business liabilities such as property damage claims, advertising claims or claims of injury that may have been caused to your clients or customers due to your negligence on your own company?s premises. General liability insurance also covers the damage or injury caused to your employees or the company?s agents while they are on official duty, irrespective of whether they are working within the office premises or performing an official task outside the office.

The next type of business liability insurance is the professional liability insurance, which is also known as the errors and omissions coverage. It covers businesses, which offer some kind of service to people, such as professionals functioning as financial analysts, technical advisors, stock exchange broker companies, doctors, or bankers, whose negligence, or errors can inflict serious injury, financial losses, or damage to someone who came to seek your services. This is a great protection for your family in the case of your death, but in the more likely instance of your disability, neither you nor your family will have any protection.

If you want to set up a disability insurance program, you can consult an insurance broker. This professional will perform a complete analysis of your income and housing requirements; don't forget that your mortgage is only a part of the whole cost of living in your home.

Even if you already possess disability insurance from a government program or from your place of work, this is usually based on a "maximum qualifying" debt to income ratio of 36 to 50. This means that the entirety of your debt, not just your home related debt, should be calculated. This means car payment, your credit cards, your other insurance policies, etc. Your disability insurance will be unlikely to cover all of those expenses and your mortgage expenses as well.

Make sure you understand the basics before you go shopping for mortgage disability insurance, such as what the benefit period is, how long the elimination period is and what riders are available.

Quite simply, the benefit period is how long you will get payments. As a rule, the benefit period goes to age 65, but if you are able to shorten it because you can count on some supplementary income before then, you can save a lot of money. Perhaps a younger spouse can start collecting social security, adding to the family income, or you may be able to tap your tax deferred retirement funds at 59 .

The elimination period is the how long you must be disabled before collecting benefits. Needless to say, the longer the waiting period, the lower the premiums. A rider is an additional coverage that you can choose to add onto your policy. A common rider is a cost of living rider, this will increase the payout according to recognized cost of living increases.

Since there are so many options to look at, it is important to understand them before you sign up for mortgage disability insurance. Make sure you pick the policy that will save you the most money and be best for your needs.

What is Employers Liability Insurance?

By A Nutt

Employer's liability insurance comes in three different types. There is general liability, property insurance and worker's compensation insurance.

General Liability If you have a policy for general comprehensive liability insurance, it covers you against anyone physically injury themselves or causing damage to property while on your business site.

This type of coverage is often purchased in company with property insurance (see below) for a more complete protection against any type of accident at the place where you usually operate your business or carry out business functions.

Professional Liability For some business such as retail or food services, comprehensive liability coverage is likely enough. However, professional liability coverage is vital for many, including engineers, consultants, medical professionals and accountants.

Professional liability coverage protects a professional against claims of negligence or incompetence.

Sometimes this type of insurances is called 'errors and omissions' coverage, since it protects a businessperson in the case of a mistake or incompetence in carrying out his or her professional duties.

This type of coverage is vital for a professional. Claims for negligence or other omissions can be much larger than general liability claims, as evidenced by medial malpractice suits.

Property Insurance Just as a homeowner must have basic property insurance, so too must a business. This kind of coverage is usually very straightforward.

With property insurance, your business is protected against theft or accident or any other loss of your business property. This coverage is in effect even if the equipment is not at your place of business when it is lost, damaged, or stolen.

Again, property insurance is similar to homeowners in that it covers in the case of fire or other disaster. You need to read your policy carefully to determine if it covers any flooding. That type of disaster is often excluded from coverage, as is water damage from sewer backup. Know your policy and add a rider if you think it is important to do so.

Usually property insurance is packaged with general liability insurance in a single package at a basic rate.

Worker's Compensation Insurance Worker's compensation insurance is an employer's liability insurance that provides coverage for medical or disability claims by employees.

If an employee has an accident or a job related illness, they will file a claim under worker's compensation.

Each state mandates that businesses with even one employee provide this coverage, and most have pools to help small businesses cope with the expense. It can be expensive to own a policy, particularly if a former employee or employee has a claim.

The amount of a company's premium is based on a formula calculation. The formula takes into account the services offered by your company and the payroll each pay period.

Requirements vary for each state regarding how much you need to pay into the fund. Make the assumption that you will need to pay for each employee in your business, even though there are times that you as the owner and members of your family are exempted from workers comp insurance.

Depending on your state, you may be able to shop around for the best rates and service.

Is It Very Difficult to Get Classic Auto Parts?

By Amy Nutt

If you are working on restoring a classic car, finding parts can be a challenge. Depending on the vintage and popularity of the model you own, parts may or may not be available through the original manufacturer. If they are, the manufacturer will charge a premium price, because there is less demand for those parts then there would be for parts for newer models. If you cannot get parts from the dealership or original manufacturer, you are going to have to get creative. Here are some options for you to consider.

Shop with Other Enthusiasts If you can join a classic car enthusiast club or website or simply network with other enthusiasts in your area, you may be able to find some contact information for parts suppliers that deal with used classic car auto parts. Some of the enthusiasts themselves may have parts they no longer need or cars they are willing to take parts from to sell. Of course, there is no guarantee that you will find parts in this way, but it is worth a try.

Go Online Another option to consider is shopping online. You can find many classic car parts on eBay and online classifieds websites. Shopping online opens the entire world to your disposal, so if you are searching for a very rare part, you have a greater chance of finding it. Keep in mind, however, that many stores and websites are geared toward American shoppers, so you might have to pay extra for shipping when shopping from Canada. Always watch the shipping fees before you commit to making a purchase, because these can greatly affect how much of a bargain or value you are getting for your money.

Also, keep in mind that you will not have the chance to see the parts before you buy. Make sure the online listing has very detailed photos. Even with pictures, though, you still run the risk of ending up with a rusty part, because the photographer can conveniently forget to show a side of the part that contains rust damage.

Head to the Junk Yard Another option is to visit a junkyard. Junkyards deal with cars of all years, makes, and models, and they salvage every part possible from the cars they get. Because most of the cars they take in are older, you have a high likelihood of finding something to fit your classic car.

Most junkyard owners are experts in car parts, simply because of the nature of their work. You can ask the junkyard owner to keep his eyes open for a particular part that you need.

Some junkyards even list their inventory online, giving you the chance to see what they have from the comfort of your home. If you do not live near the junkyard, you can order over the phone or Internet if they have what you need. Shopping for parts for your classic car can be like a treasure hunt. You have to be creative and the search can be a challenge, but with these resources you are sure to find what you need.

If a driver has $500 in damages, and a $500 car insurance deducible, he most likely will not make a claim. By knowing and understanding what your state requires, how much coverage you can afford, how much you are willing to pay for insurance, how often you think you will make a claim, and how much of a deductible you can pay, you will be able to choose the right policy to meet your needs.

Insurance At Its Roots

By Graham McKenzie

When you look around at our world today, you would tend to think that insurance is a fairly new way to make money that was designed by capitalist to squeeze every penny out of you. In fact, insurance has been around for a very long time. In its beginning, it was slightly different from what we know now, however, not that much different. The main difference is the classification we put insurance in. It is more specialized offering insurance for health, property, vehicles and life.

Insurance has been around since society began. The earliest form of insurance was the old protection rackets that organized crime families still use even today. Criminals or rulers of a country would ?guarantee? that a business or home would not be damaged or destroyed by criminal activities for a weekly cut of said earnings of the business. This form of blackmail and extortion quickly led to merchants and shopkeepers living in their businesses. So that when the criminals came they would be greeted by sword and spear. These actions, taken by these early businessmen, led to the old saying, ?The greatest protection comes by the sword.?

The earliest known form of a true form of a contractual insurance agreement came as early as 3 or 2 millennia B.C. These simple agreements stated that a merchant, trader or transporter of goods would guarantee the safety of said cargo or shipment. If the goods were lost, the transporter of said goods would pay either the sender or receiver for the loss or both. Other insurance contracts were simply a fee paid by the carrier so that of the goods were lost then the fee would cover said loss of goods. These agreements were usually done by a verbal agreement, but they were later back up by laws etched in stone and papyrus.

Later on, people would hire guards. In today?s times, it would be the equivalent of a security guard. These guards, which were often times retired soldiers, would follow a transportation of goods or wherever they were needed. It was very hard work, but it paid well. Many retired soldiers took this form of work up as a way of living.

The absolute first known insurance company was started in France in the year 1666. This was started after a great fire that destroyed 13,200 homes and left France devastated in many ways. With this, they developed a Fire Office that insured homes that were made of brick and wood.

In 1732, located in Charleston, South Carolina, the first insurance company was born in the United States of America. This company provided fire insurance and was aided along by Benjamin Franklin. They started off not insuring building that was partial to fire damage such as warehouses and wooden houses. They also were the first to teach about fire safety and prevention. They would often refer others to learn about certain fire hazards.

Today, the insurance company is a multi-billion dollar asset to the United States alone. People have incorporated insurance into every aspect of their daily lives and it would be hard to think of it not there.

Benefits Of Visual Insurance

By Wade Henderson

Insurance policies cover you against financial losses and others. Generally, you need to pay a certain monthly amount in order for you to enjoy the saving from the insurance. It is a good idea to choose your provider carefully and verify whether they offer the best deals for their customers as compared to others. Some will obtain discounts from whole sellers which they pass to their customers. Insurance companies are bound to federal and state laws.

Vision insurance helps you significantly to reduce your cost of visual assistance when you are a frequent user of these services. If members of your family wear glasses, family visual insurance may save you money. Most people decide to get visual insurance when it is partly covered by the employer. In certain cases your family's visual care expenses will be covered as well.

Let us look at some of the benefits of visual insurance:

Vision care insurance is very advantageous because everyone needs an eye exam yearly, and most families have at least one member who needs glasses or contact lenses.

Discounts from large retail stores and shopping malls that you would obtain without visual insurance. But how does it work? you may ask. Some of these companies agree to notify insurance companies about deals for their customers. A 40% discount from a retail store may mean great saving for you.

Visual insurance usually cover these general aspects:

A year to two year coverage. The payment of small monthly premiums will allow you enjoy coverage for you and your family of up to 24 months.

Visual insurance covers an eye exam a year and a general exam where the optician will let you know if you have any visual problems.

Frames: Depending on your plan, you may receive an allowance to apply to any frame of your choice, including designer frames. Most doctors ask for frames for you if you do not find one you like. Many plans also offer discounts on additional pairs of glasses.

Prescription Glasses: visual insurance policies may pay the standard prescription lenses and for your family also, according to your plan you will be offered significant discounts on lenses that are not covered.

Affordable Discount Dental Plans Are Good For The Wallet

By Tony Stai

Dental plans are usually a lower price alternative to getting dental insurance. Dental care services turn out to be more reasonably priced with discount dental plans for families in the lower salary bracket. A dental plan is a a bit a club you become a member and where we include selected providers. In a discounted dental plan, the providers have decided to give the services at a discounted rate. As a consumer, one merely has to display his or her membership card while visiting the provider. Keep in mind that a discount dental plan is nothing akin to an insurance plan plus has no service limits or discount maximums.

Dental Plan Selection

Ahead of making your choice on which plan to choose,it is vital to be totally informed of your choices. Generally,I would get going by searching the internet to discover existing plans in your state and locale. Comparing the costs and benefits of plans will help you come to a decision while looking at what your requirements are. Joining or enrolling in any of these plans is straightforward and quick; you simply have to pay the fee using your credit card or electronic check and obtain the package online, in a matter of minutes. One essential facet to search for is a 30 day money back guarantee so that if you aren't satisified with your choice or your participating dentist you'll be able to get your money back.

As an extra bonus, several discount plans offer additional ways to save on additional medical care like pharmacy prescriptions and vision. Keep these in mind while comparing the plans.

Using your discounted Dental plan

The great news is that you will know how to make use of your discount plan shortly following joining. Benefits for most discounted dental plans are activated within 48 hours from enrolling.

When you make use of the discounted dental plan, make certain you call the empanelled provider dentist for an appointment. When you reach the dentist to keep your appointment, ensure you show the discount dental plan card to the receptionist to avoid confusion, it will ensure that you are charged the discounted fee in the first place.

The payment at the discounted price is to be completed at the time of taking the service.

Antique Auto Insurance - Where To Buy Auto Insurance Online

By Matt Hellstrom

Because of the place an antique automobile has created in history for itself in terms of the premium prices they typically command, antique auto insurance is important. These automobiles are collected by passionate enthusiasts who are willing to pay much more for them than their actual cost back in the day.

These vintage or classic automobiles as they are popularly known are considered works of art and have a market value much higher than their real value, just like any other piece of art. Determining the price of a vehicle while processing an antique auto insurance policy is a tricky process. Though there are many companies out there selling such policies, there are only a handful that offer comprehensive and well drawn out policies that offer policies in tune with what your vehicle is actually worth.

The insurance value for a vehicle is usually determined by the original price less the depreciation over the years that it has collected. In the case of an antique automobile, the price cannot be determined in this fashion as it is the age of the car that contributes to the rise in its value.

The main methods adopted by antique auto insurance companies to determine the price of a vintage or classic automobile are of three kinds. Usually the value is arrived at through mutual agreement between the owner and the insurance company. This is usually much higher than the original price and also is inclusive of the appreciation in value corresponding to the age of the car.

The price of an antique or classic automobile can be arrived at by employing the services of an independent appraiser as well. This price that is arrived at is invariably much higher than the original price of the automobile. This value can also be arrived at through comparing the automobile in question with others in its genre as listed in trade magazines that list out price indexes for vintage automobiles.

One less-used method is to fix the value of the automobile as the sum total of the actual cost price plus the many up gradations and enhancements and amount spent on repairs etc over the years. The last method is to fix the value of the vehicle as the amount arrived at after deducting the depreciation with age from the original cost price of the vehicle.

There are many rules that are laid down by antique auto insurance providers that have to be followed by the owner of a vintage automobile for the policy to be effective. Antique auto insurance companies stipulate that the automobile should not be used as a means of regular transport and should be kept in a safe environment sometimes with security alarms and fire proof measures in place. The other requirements are that the owner should have an impeccable driving record of over 10 years to be eligible for a policy. These automobiles are also not to be used for racing and it has to be shown that all members of the family of the owner have access to other modes of transportation than the vintage automobile.

Is Comprehensive Liability Insurance Necessary?

By Graham McKenzie

In our lives, insurance plays a very important part. If we did not have insurance, we would constantly be worried if things happened. In fact, things do happen and there really is nothing we can do about it. Because of this, insurance was born. In general, insurance provides us the security we need that keeps us on track and covered. Without it, we would all be in a heap of trouble financially.

You do not fully appreciate what vehicle insurance offers you until it is too late and you are in a vehicular accident. In our lives, we will at least use insurance once. Many of us will use our car insurance for claims many times in our lives. It really is the luck of the draw; what are your odds? Even the smallest fender bender can leave you wondering how you will pay for the damage if not covered.

The most basic coverage you will find with car insurance is called liability insurance. It prevents from large sums of money coming out of your pocket in the event of an accident. When you have a car accident, one person will come away from that accident liable for the damages. There is more to a car than structural damage when you get into an accident. Accidents also include physical and emotional damage. This can pose a horrible and debilitating financial outcome.

Liability Insurance is also called Third Party Cover. If you are deemed at fault for the accident, you will be able to avoid bankruptcy with liability insurance. You do not want to be stuck in court because you did not have insurance coverage. This would usually involve the person who was not at fault trying to get all the money they can out of you and then some more in court costs. This is their legal right. This process is long and drawn out often times taking years to come to a resolution. The resolution is usually you being wiped out of everything.

Insurance makes you feel safe in the event of an accident. It ensures that you will be alright financially if you find yourself in one. In general, the premiums you pay are all associated with risk. This is why premiums go up after you have been in an accident; it means you are more of a risk. In the event of an accident, your insurance company handles all the payments and all of the court problems and negotiations. You will, however, be responsible for the excess. An excess is the part you will pay before your insurance company will do this for you. This amount was determined when you signed your policy and is communicated every time your policy is up for renewal. Excess runs from a couple hundred dollars all the way up to thousands.

Consider other insurance options when you choose liability insurance. You want to make sure that in the event you have an accident, you will be fully covered for damages and more. Most people wait until it is too late; do not be that person. Ask your insurance agent today for more information that would best suit your needs.

Nuts And Bolts Of Visual Insurance

By Wade Henderson

Almost as in the case of a car, eyes need to be periodically checked in order to ensure that our vision continues to work correctly. And, as with a car, visual care can also cost a considerable sum of money. Vision insurance assists people who have refractive errors (including those who suffer short-sight, hypertropia or astigmatism) and can help them reduce their expenses and allow them to plan eye care for the future.

Many people hesitate to buy visual insurance because they do not understand how they really work. Say, what should be covered and what doctors can you visit.

Visual insurance completes the care provided by regular health insurance, similar to dental insurance.

Insurance plans for vision reduces the cost of eye exams and routine treatments and help pay for small portions of important procedures of eye care.

Most plans require the payment of a regular monthly premium and in return offers eye care services at a reduced price (with discount vision plans), or coverage for a specific quantity of services per year with only a small co-payment per visit (for the benefit packages view).

Most people decide to get visual insurance when they employers cover a fraction of it. Depending on your plan and the company you or employer chooses, you will be able to choose a doctor who is affiliated to a specific network.

How do I choose an insurance vision plan?

Let us say the company you work for already made a choice for you. Nowadays, most companies have agreements with visual insurance companies in order to give reduced premiums to their employees. If it is something up to you to choose, you can look for the plan that fits with you eye care needs.

Visual insurance usually covers the common treatment for major eye disorders such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Therefore, insurance for vision is more convenient for people who require routine eye examinations scheduled periodically. Most visual insurance cover these tests and a fraction of the cost of contact lenses and new glasses, but often only a limited number of times per year.

Supplemental Medicare Insurance Does Not Have To Be Confusing

By Derrick Johnson

The selection of Medigap plans and supplemental Medicare plans is confusing to many people. Creation of Medicare and Medicare supplement insurance took place in 1966. In 1992 the government created standardization of Medicare Supplement Insurance.

Plans being offered are indentical regardless of the insurance company. Plans A-L are available which makes a total of 12 Medicare Supplement options.

Similarly lettered plans are the same regardless of the Medicare Supplement Insurance company. Comparing Medigap insurance is easy for this reason.

Shopping for Medigap policies is most easily accomplished on the Internet. By searching for Medicare, Medicare supplement or Medigap in Yahoo or Google.

Many insurance companies offer Medicare supplement insurances, so the option are endless. Medicare supplement health insurance is considered to be a requirement for most people approaching Medicare age or those already covered by Medicare. Those without Medigap Insurance will find it difficult to cover the Medicare co-payments.

Comparing Medicare supplement insurance should be done annualy to make sure that you still have the best coverage. You can easily obtain Medicare supplement quotes each year by going online or calling the existing agent. Keeping the existing company honest can be accomplished with this process.

Employers Liability Insurance - Protect Business and Your Employees

By Ben Ashfalk

Employers liability insurance gives protection to the business owner (employer) and the worker (employee) alike. It is effective in three cases. First, in case your employee falls ill, second, he suffers an injury and third, in case of an employee's death. Acquiring employers liability insurance is a legal obligation for every business. There is no escaping it. However, if you are your only employee or you don't hire anyone outside your family, only then can you make an exception.

Employers liability insurance is a legal obligation in many countries of the world, such as the USA, Britain and many others.

Your insurance provider is obligated to all the costs incurred if an accident happens at your business and your employee or employees decide to take legal action. Your insurance provider will cover your legal fees, medical fees, and any other fee related to the legal proceedings.

When covered by an employers liability insurance, part or whole of the costs of a claim may be covered for you. This depends upon the factor as to who was responsible for the accident in the first place. If it was your employee himself, you don't have to worry about the costs any further.

The punishment for not purchasing employers liability insurance is very severe. Your business will be fined heavily each day you do not have liability insurance for your employees. Furthermore, your business may be shut down entirely by health and safety regulators, in addition to heavy fines, if you fail to purchase employer liability insurance.

Make sure your insurance certificate is viewable by your employee(s). Put up a copy of it on notice boards in your office, and perhaps also on the company website.

Employers liability insurance (EL Insurance) covers only your employees. It doesn't cover people outside your organization. So if you want to cover the costs of general public injuries (or accidents) occurring in your business premises, you would require a public liability insurance.

Employers liability insurance doesn't cover claims such as wrongful termination of an employee or sexual harassment or sex discrimination etc.

The insurance provider you get insurance coverage from must be authorized. Otherwise, you are breaching the law anyway. Make sure you take out the time to compare the costs of various insurance providers before signing up with any particular one.

The beauty of EL insurance is that it protects you from having to directly pay costs in the event an employee is injured on the job. It protects both you, by being able to cover any costs without going out of business, and the employee, who may be unable to work temporarily.

Public Liability Insurance Quote - Information To Be Provided to Insurer

By Ben Ashfalk

A public liability insurance quote helps determine the cost of this type of an insurance coverage for your business. The main pieces of information required, to get either an online or offline quote are business type or category, number of employees and details about business activities.

Usually, for a Public Liability Insurance quote, you will need to:

1. Clearly stating the type of business you conduct.

2. For a public liability insurance quote, the second important thing you have to indicate is the type of incorporation of your business (i.e., limited company, sole proprietorship, partnership etc).

3. Indicating your estimated annual revenues of your business, for example the gross amount of receivables in respect to sales and services provided to your clients.

4. Stating whether you have any past incidents or claims brought against your business. If yes, provide the dates, claim amounts and circumstances of the claims.

5. Indicate whether you carry out work in a commercial or industrial zone apart from your office or shops.

6. Information about subsidiaries associated with your main business also needs to be provided.

7. Applying for a quote requires you to select the coverage for public liability and product liability. The former gives coverage for damage to third party people or their property while on your property. The latter provides coverage if an individual (or group of individuals) bear damage by using a product of yours.

8. Indicate the maximum no. of workers so that the insurer can calculate the premium. The no. of directors/partners, employee strength, no. of clerical partners and clerical employees, all need to be specified.

9. Any prior claims or past incidents which may lead to a claim being filed are also to be included. Incidents related to occupational conditions or diseases (lung cancer, asbestos related diseases, deafness, dermatitis etc) are commonly required. A claim is a policyholder's seeking settlement under the policy terms.

10. Indicate the date when you want the coverage to start. Most insurers will require up to a 30 days in order to be able to provide a public liability insurance quote.

You will most likely get a quote confirmation summary via email if you applied for public liability insurance quote over the Internet. This will not be bounding in any sense, rather an initial estimate for your understanding. You will have to sit down and have detailed discussions with the representative(s) of the insurance provider.

The best thing to do is to do a cost comparison of insurance providers online. This way, you will be able to get yourself the best and reasonably priced public liability insurance quote.

By Lynn Lopez

Part of joining a new company includes dealing with health insurance paperwork. Since you are new, you probably do not have enough time in the day to look over and review all the health insurance literature that you received from the human resources officer. A majority of companies present their employees with at least two health insurance choices.

If the task proves daunting, ask the human resources officer or an officemate what insurance plan they have, or if they know what most people have, and then enroll quickly. You wouldn't want to be without a health insurance. After all, you never know when a medical emergency will strike. Once you are enrolled in your company's health plan, remember that your health insurance plan is not set in stone. You have the option to change your plans and avail of the other plans offered during health insurance open enrollment period.

What is health insurance open enrollment? Health insurance open enrollment period is a specified period of time (usually 6 weeks) during which eligible people or employees are allowed to make changes to their current health plan, including, but not limited to, adding or removing dependents if desired, increasing or decreasing coverage, checking out other health insurance options, signing up for coverage in an alternative plan, or opting out of coverage entirely. If you choose to maintain your current health plan, then no action is required. During health insurance open enrollment period, applicants are not usually required to provide evidence of insurability, regardless of pre-existing medical conditions. You and your dependents cannot be denied enrollment in the health insurance plan of your choice during this period.

If you miss the health insurance enrollment period, you need to wait for the following year to change your health insurance plan. However, most plans allow health insurance plan changes when you experience any change in your life such as birth, adoption, marriage, divorce, a dependent child over the age of eligibility, or a change in employment /employment status for you or your spouse.

Pay attention to your officemates' experiences with their health plans as well. By properly managing your health insurance issues, not only are you making sure that your health care is covered, you will also be saving money in the long run.

What Does Travel Health Insurance Policy Cover

By Ray Sondeo

We all have to travel, either for business or for pleasure. Whatever may be the purpose, we expose ourselves to a lot of risks while traveling. We all feel that we are quite healthy. However, accidents don?t come with warnings. Travel insurance can make a big difference simply by covering the various unforeseen expenses you incur during your travel.

It is always advisable that you keep yourself protected instead of crying later over spilt milk. Spending on your travelers medical insurance might seem like an added financial burden. But consider this fact that when you have secured your future against unexpected losses you will be able to enjoy your travel a lot better.

Have you ever thought how much can be your hospital bill if get admitted for one night? Over $2500!! Have you ever considered how much a heart surgery can cost you? Over $100,000!!Don?t you think it is much better to invest in a medical insurance instead?

Expenses such as ambulance cost, loss of baggage or other personal belongings, personal accident, hospitalization, home burglary, etc. are all covered under travel insurance. However, travelers? medical insurance would be extended only during medical emergencies. Therefore, it is recommended to choose a policy which will provide you with maximum coverage against your expenses.

The amount of medical coverage available from travel insurance companies varies widely. While young people can feel secure by purchasing a policy of $500,000, older members can avail only up to $50,000 to $100,000. Most travel insurance found online offer a comparison tool particularly for older members. This gives them the opportunity to shop around for the best quote.

Some medical insurance for travel give fixed benefit and do not cover all your expenses. With each type of policy you will face some kind of limitation. Suppose you have purchased a policy of $100K, then you will get a maximum cover of about $20K, for a personal accident. However, for a mere dental expense your policy of $100K will provide you a cover of $500. The exact coverage varies from company to company. Any expense that you incur above the ceiling has to be borne by yourself.

It is important to know that for certain expenses there are a deductible which is levied. The deductible is basically a fixed amount which is pre-determined by an agreement between yourself and your travel insurance company at the time of purchasing the policy. You will have to pay this amount towards your medical expenses before your travel insurance company starts covering you. Generally the lower the premium amount the higher is the deductible you have to pay.

However, travelers medical insurance is not just about medical expenses. The coverage also includes expenses related to medical evacuation, repatriation costs, loss of baggage or other personal belongings, cancelled or delayed flights etc. With all these impending expenses, it's easy to perceive why a comprehensive travel insurance policy is highly recommended.

Term Life Insurance Ontario: The Difference Between PMI and MI

By Jacqueline J. Poole

As you start the process of applying for a home loan, you will probably get into discussions about mortgage insurance.

First of all, there is PMI, Purchase Mortgage Insurance, which the bnak requires some buyers to take out (and pay for) on their home loan in the event they are unable to continue to make the payments on their home.

If a buyer wants to buy a home by putting less than 20% down, the lender can require this type of insurance to protect himself. The idea is that the buyer does not have enough equity, or enough of his own money invested in the property to make walking away from it a less attractive prospect. In a low or no money down mortgage, the borrower has risked no substantial amount that would compel him to protect his investment as much as possible.

In this case, the bank will require an insurance policy that the borrower pays for, but that protects the bank in case of default. The bank is the beneficiary of this kind of mortgage insurance.

The kind of policy you want to take out to protect your family is a completely different type of policy that will cover the home loan in the case of death or disability.

With this kind of insurance, your family will not have to be concerned about keeping up the home loan payments in case anything happens to you, the primary breadwinner.

If the insured party dies, mortgage life insurance pays down the loan, and if he is disabled, mortgage disability insurance will make the insurance payments while he cannot. Most mortgage life insurance policies are decreasing term, meaning that that the residual benefit of the policy decreases over time, as the mortgage decreases in outstanding value. In other words, you do not have to pay the premium on a $200,000 policy as the outstanding balance on your loan goes down.

For people who are concerned about them and their family being able to stay in the home in case of a medical disability, mortgage disability insurance will pay the monthly bill for the disability period.

The difference in these policies makes it important that you have to understand what your bank is discussing. While there are many banks who offer mortgage life and disability insurance, and they even earn money on it, if you have a low deposit loan, make sure you don't think you are getting protection for your and your family when you are actually getting protection for your lender.

Finding Cheap Auto Insurance in Three Steps

By Paul Amador

Introduction

It is a fact that buying cheap auto insurance has changed a lot from how things were in the past. Getting cheap insurance use to be an easy task, however, with many factors at work in today's world, finding cheap insurance alternative has become rather complicated. More drivers, an unstable economy, and more costly repairs, have all made the option of finding cheap car insurance more difficult than ever before.

During bad economic times, finding ways to get affordable insurance coverage online is a vital step towards saving significant sums of money each month. To get the lowest rates and quotes, follow the three steps below to help you find ways to cut possibly hundreds of dollars off your auto insurance payment.

Step One - Coverage: What do you want? What do you really need?

Your goal should not necessarily be getting cheap auto insurance but getting affordable auto insurance. The difference is that getting the cheapest auto insurance available means that you are getting the lowest possible coverage. However, your situation may not warrant getting the lowest coverage; you may need full coverage due to financing (your bank requires you to maintain comprehensive coverage) or because you want extra protection for you and your family. You will have to know what type of coverage you really need when you look for car insurance quotes.

Step Two - Quotes

Using the Internet as your primary tool for finding inexpensive quotes from several representatives will save you a considerable amount of time and money. Using online quote tools will allow you to compare car insurance quotes side by side at whatever is the most convenient time for you.

In most cases, you only need to answer a minimum amount of questions and provide information about your driving record to get the quotes you need. It's truly fast and easy. Auto insurance quotes are great tools that can save you from spending too much on insurance coverage, and best of all, they are free.

Everyone wants the same thing from their auto insurance, they want to pay the least amount of money and they want to have a reliable carrier that will be there when they need them. The great thing about using a free quote tool is that you can see for yourself what kind of reputable companies are providing the quotes and you are getting those quotes quickly too.

Here's a bonus tip for the future that can save you hundreds of dollars: You should compare your rates and policy limits every two years. It's almost frightening how fast things change in the insurance industry. By checking every two years, you give yourself the opportunity of taking advantage of new or special lower rates as well as new discounts.

Step Three - Discount: You have the advantage

There are many discounts available to drivers. They are based on things like your driving record, your credit score, your age, the age of other drivers in your vehicle, how often you drive, how far you drive daily, whether you are college educated, if you are a good student, and so much more. You must check around with different insurance companies to check their discounts, some offers what others do not.

To ensure a better premium rate take a defensive driver course and choose a higher deductable when you are choosing your coverage, and combine services whenever possible (some companies offer health, life, auto, and homeowner's insurance, combine as much as possible for a stronger discount). Check online and make sure you understand how much coverage you should carry on your vehicle based on age, wear and tear, etc. You want to get value for your money.

Conclusion

While it is true that finding cheap auto insurance is not as easy as it used to be, having the right information at the ready can certainly help you find the best rates possible. You need to make sure you know the discounts you are eligible for and remember to request them. By using these three easy steps, you can save yourself time and money, and you can make buying cheap car insurance quick and easy.

By A Nutt

Outdoor enthusiasts will tell you that watercrafts are a fun and great way to enjoy the outdoors. Boats, Sea Doos, Wave Runners and other watercraft are enjoyed by many people. However, statistics show that the use of these recreational vehicles leads to thousands of injuries each year. Because of the risk of injury, acquiring personal watercraft insurance is essential to anyone using these devices.

Personal watercrafts are not usually covered by a homeowner or vehicle insurance policy. People will usually have to purchase a special insurance policy. The insurance you purchase should cover an injury to you or a third party, property damage, passenger liability, medical costs, and theft. The least expensive choice is liability only coverage. This is much like a car liability policy that covers another person in the event of an accident or injury.

Insurance policies can vary among providers but usually covers a set maximum limit payment for an injury to another person and damage to your own or another person's property. There will also be a set deductible for medical coverage and theft that is determined by the provider. There are also providers who offer water sports liability, which covers risks related with recreational activities such as waterskiing. If you want to ensure that you are completely protected, there are liability packages available that will cover up to $1 000,000 and can cost about $300 per year. There are also insurance policies that will offer discounts if you insure more than one watercraft.

There are two main types of watercraft insurance overage. The insurance can either provide coverage based on the Actual Cash Value of the property, or on the Agreed Amount Value. Policies based on the Actual Cash Value rely on the current value of the equipment at the time of loss or damage. It will be based on the market value found in watercraft pricing guides. The Agreed Amount Value covers policies that are based on the set amount agreed by the client and the insurer. If a watercraft is damaged or completely destroyed, the purchaser will be compensated for the amount that was agreed on at the time of signing the policy. If there is a fractional loss that does not result in depreciation of the watercraft, you may be able to replace the watercraft. For an additional cost you can insure your personal watercraft with extra options such as coverage for sinking, towing and roadside assistance, damaged vehicle removal, and pollution liability coverage.

Eligibility and costs for watercraft insurance is based on a number of factors that can include, but may not be limited to, the following: the operator and owner must be over 16 years old and hold a valid driver's license, there must be no previous major driving violations for a specified number of years, and there must not be a history of repeat claims.

Personal watercrafts are a great way to enjoy the water. Unfortunately, many people think they are covered under their homeowner's policy until there is an accident. Before you hit the water, make sure you have personal watercraft insurance. There are many personal watercraft insures on the market, so it pays to shop around to get the best coverage at the best rate. Make sure that you talk to the insurance provider about your specific requirements to make sure you are completely covered. You never know when a serious accident will happen. With the right insurance coverage, you will be able to have a fantastic time on your watercraft knowing you are protected.

Types Of Visitor Health Insurance Plans

By Ray Sondeo

The two main types of health insurance for visitor available are fixed and comprehensive policies. Some providers might offer both types of coverage, while others offer only one or the other.

A 'fixed benefits' policy means that each individual medical expense has its own limited coverage. These amounts are usually less than the policy?s total maximum medical limit. This means that every type of medical expense is considered separately.

If an injury such as a broken arm is suffered on the trip, the policy will only cover the costs of treatment up to the stated maximum for each class of expense (limit for MRIs, limit for ER fees etc). The policy holder would have to pay the balance. In the event of multiple treatments being needed, each would be considered separately and this can become very expensive for the policy holder. Of course, the odds of suffering multiple injuries on a trip are fairly low and this should be considered.

Fixed rate policies work best for the 'price conscious'. These plans offer basic coverage at very economical prices. Those willing to take some risk can certainly consider this type and at least have some protection in place.

With a comprehensive visitor health insurance policy, any injury will be covered up the maximum allowed by the policy itself. No matter how many individual types of care are required, the maximum policy amount is available to cover them.

For example, if a visitor suffered from an infection while on a trip, the comprehensive visitor insurance would use up the entire policy amount if necessary to pay for this expense. The same infection under a fixed rate policy, however, would have limited coverage and the insured very likely bear a good portion of the medical expenses.

Degree and percentage of payout is the largest difference between comprehensive and fixed visitors medical insurance. Similar benefit maximums may be found in both types of policy, but the consumer must choose according to their needs. Fixed rate policies provide a more economical option for travelers.

They key point to remember in insurance for visitors is that it is vital for any international traveler. Health insurance for visitors can be such a benefit. Whether through a fixed rate or comprehensive policy, any visitors insurance is better than none at all.

Get The Right Plan With Health Insurance Open Enrollment

By Lynn Lopez

Most employees end up staying with the health insurance provider they had when they first joined the company they work for. But they don't have to. You don't have to. There is such a thing as the health insurance open enrollment.

What exactly is health insurance open enrollment? It is that time of the year when eligible employees can seek and implement changes to their health insurance. The change can refer to changes to your coverage, dependents, or health insurance plan. In fact, you can even cancel your coverage during this period. You can exercise your choice to check out what other providers are offering, especially if you are displeased with your current plan, during health insurance open enrollment period. What makes health insurance open enrollment period important? Simple: no one can be denied enrollment in the health insurance plan of your choice, despite you and your dependents' pre-existing medical conditions. You do not have to present evidence of insurability.

Let health insurance open enrollment be your friend. Don't stay with a health insurance provider if their coverage leaves much to be desired. Don't hesitate to change your plan after considering you and your dependents' changing needs. Don't wait until the following year to implement changes to your health insurance plan. Don't take the easy way out. Brand loyalty should not come into play when it comes to health plans. After all, health insurance is a commodity. Health care options are out there. Find the right insurance plan that meets your needs. You should just be willing to sit down and determine what suits your health care requirements.

Take into account the dates for the health insurance open enrollment period. It is possible that your company offers at least two health insurance plans. Review the plans they offer. Ask your colleagues about their plans. If you feel the plans offered aren't as comprehensive as you want, perhaps you can suggest alternative health insurance providers to your company's benefits coordinator that they can look into. Be attentive and conscientious. It will pay off to your advantage.

Be actively involved when it comes to your health care benefits. If possible, watch it like a hawk. You do pay for it, so make sure you're paying for health care coverage that provides you with the most bang for your buck. Since everything is more expensive already what with higher premiums, higher deductibles, higher co-pays and higher co-insurance, there is no point paying so much for coverage that doesn't meet your expectations when there are plans that are more cost-effective. Remember that with health insurance plans, relying solely on price will cost you more in the long run.

Health Insurance Open Enrollment: The Basics

By Lynn Lopez

Not all health insurance plans are created equal, nor are they created to last forever. If you are dissatisfied with your current coverage, or if you want to add dependents to your health plan, you have the option to make changes to your health insurance during the open enrollment for health insurance. The open enrollment for health insurance is a period when eligible employees can change their current health plan. You can add or remove dependents, increase or decrease coverage, switch to other health insurance providers after reviewing other health insurance options, or opt out of coverage entirely. Of course, you have the option to stay with your current provider, in which case, you don't have to do anything. During open enrollment for health insurance, you are not usually required to provide evidence of insurability, regardless of pre-existing medical conditions, when you switch to a different health insurance provider. You and your dependents' cannot be denied enrollment for pre-existing conditions during this period.

During open enrollment, keep in mind that everything will be more expensive than what you currently have. Health care costs are rising and there's no escaping it. You will see higher premiums, higher deductibles, higher co-pays and higher co-insurance. Make sure the costs are clear to you. Staying with your current plan may be easy, but other plans might be more cost-effective for you. Remember to hoose what's right for you. You know the medical issues you and your family face. Does anyone have a chronic condition? Is there a family history of incapacitating disease? Do you have children? Is someone in your family on prescription medications?

Don't let price alone dictate your decision. Lower costs might mean less coverage - something you can easily miss if you don't do your research. Check that your doctors are in the network of the different health insurance plans. Out-of-network means more money to be paid. You don't want that.

If you miss the open enrollment for health insurance, you cannot change your health insurance plan until the next year. Or unless there has been life status changes such as a birth, adoption, marriage, divorce, a dependent child over the age of eligibility, or a change in employment for you or your spouse.

Use the open enrollment for health insurance to your advantage. If you need to make changes to your current plan, then do so. Mark your calendar with the dates for open enrollment for health insurance. Study your options. The last thing you need is health insurance that you will pay an arm and a leg for, but won't pay for your arm and leg if they get hurt.

Which Anti-Theft Devices Decrease Insurance Premiums

By Graham McKenzie

One good way to get discounts from your car insurance premiums is by outfitting your car with the appropriate anti-theft device. Car insurance companies allow discounts to policies offered to car owners who have anti-theft devices installed in their vehicles. When you are shopping for a car insurance policy, it is important that you ask your insurer of the applicable discounts that they offer for specific anti-theft devices that are installed on the insured vehicles.

The anti-theft devices are classified under three main categories. It is important that you have the basic understanding of these types of devices when you are searching for the best car insurance quotes.

Mechanical locks and latches are commonly referred to as mechanical car immobilizers. This is a practical alternative to the expensive electronic security gadgets. It basically provides protection by physically immobilizing critical control mechanisms of the vehicle. The most common mechanical immobilizer is the steering wheel metal latch. It practically locks into place the steering wheel to prevent car thieves from driving a car outfitted with such device. One great advantage of this type of mechanical locks is that it is a good deterrent for would-be thieves as they normally shun away from vehicles that are protected by mechanical immobilizers. There are also sturdy metal latches that can immobilize the brake pedals, wheel assembly and even the stick shifters. Nonetheless, car security experts recommend that these mechanical devices are best paired with other car security gadgets to address all possible threat scenarios.

Electronic car alarm systems provide security by sounding off potential security threats. The deafening alarm can ward off would-be car thieves if they attempt to forcibly enter a vehicle outfitted with a car alarm system. The system is triggered by motion sensitive sensors which activates the alarm. It can also be programmed to monitor sudden motions and breaches within a specified perimeter around the vehicle. There are a lot of variants of car alarm systems available in the market. It is important that you buy one that is effective and reliable in providing security to your vehicle.

On the other hand, the third type of car security devices provides security by reporting the location of the vehicle by triangulation. These electronic devices operate through a car tracking system that relays the exact location of the car to the car owner. It also comes with a feature to identify the car using a tamper-proof VIN etching ID process. Some models of this car tracking system are also capable of electronically disabling the vehicle by isolating the power system in the event that it is driven off by car thieves.

The final aspect of the decision making process is the confirmation from your insurance agent or the car insurance provider of the inclusions under the discounted premium of car insurance policies. On the other hand, if you are looking for the right anti-theft device and security system, it is essential that you consider the discounts that you can get from premiums with each of the gadgets you are seriously considering.

Myths About Driving Laws

By Christos Chalfont

There are several myths floating around, particularly on the Internet, about ways that you can avoid being charged if accused of committing a traffic offence. However the fact is that the vast majority of them are simply not true.

One of the most common theories people have is that if a police officer makes a mistake on a traffic offence ticket then that ticket is invalid and the charge is void, but as with most theories of this nature, there is very little truth to it.

This is because the ticket that he gives to you is not official evidence, it is just a brief overview of the offence and if you question the validity of the ticket due to an error, then all that will happen is that a court summons will be sent to you and the officer will have to draw up an official statement which he is not likely to make any errors on.

The only way that a mistake on the ticket might help you is if you take issue with the actual offence, i.e. you dont believe you went over the speed limit or ran a red light or whatever theyre accusing you of. If the officer has made a mistake on the ticket then you could bring this to light to discredit the rest of his evidence by implying that his approach to this offence is sloppy.

However most of the time a mistake on a traffic ticket will not do you any favours. The officers job is to prove to the court beyond reasonable doubt that you have committed the offence in question and if he does this, then a mistake on the ticket will not matter in the slightest.

Another myth that people have thought will get them off the hook, is that it is a violation of human rights to ask who was driving at the time of the offence. It is often believed that if you are the registered keeper of the vehicle and theyre asking you who was driving it, that you do not have to tell them because it is within your human rights to withhold this information.

The fact is that this just isnt true. Human rights have been changed to this effect because the compromise in human rights is proportionate to the importance of road safety.

Another very common mistake that drivers make is that when they buy a new car, they are covered from the insurance on their old vehicle to drive any car owned by someone else with their permission, and as they havent made themselves the registered keeper of the vehicle yet, therefore it still officially belongs to someone else, therefore they are insured.

This is also a false belief. If you have paid money for the car then as far as the law and insurance goes, that car is yours and if you havent switched the insurance over, then you are driving without insurance, which is of course illegal.

When You Know Your Employer Insurance Is Not The Right Choice

By Ethan Kalvin

While you are looking for a new job, one question you want to ask all potential employers is whether or not they offer comprehensive health insurance plans that is subsidized for their employees. Even if the answer is yes, do not get to excited right away. Due to the the recent events with the economy, many employers have been forced to cut back on health care, which results in a larger out of pocket for employees.

One important aspect to look at, when dealing with your health insurance plan is what your out of pocket expense will be. To figure this out you need to look at your actual insurance premium payments, your co pays or percentage for visits, and the total amount of deductibles, and if the deductibles are for the family or the individual.

Obtaining health insurance through your employer is a much better deal then purchasing it through a private company, however you need to be careful, as each company offers different plans and different premiums. For example some companies will pay 60-70% of your family or individual health plan, and others may only pay 30-40%

It is also important to understand other limits that can be very costly as well, like the amount that it costs when you go to the emergency room or other non-participating facility.

To sum up, it is important to realize that you are definitely in need of health insurance, however you must make yourself knowledgeable on the cost of insurance through your company and compare it to an insurance plan from a private carrier. Many times, you may find that it is more cost efficient to get insurance from an outside agency, instead of your company.

Lesser Known Methods Of Getting Cheap Auto Insurance

By Chris Channing

Finding discounts on your auto insurance premium can lower your bills as much as 30% or more if you qualify for the majority of the discounts and already have moderately priced coverage. The trick comes to be applying for and obtaining the discounts so that you will be paying less in premiums each month.

The first method you should investigate electronic funds transfer, or what is abbreviated as EFT. This is just a method of payment that takes the funds directly from your bank account- reducing the need for checks or other forms of payment. EFT payment is preferred by auto insurance companies since it's so easy and reduces busy work. It won't get you much in discount, but it helps.

Since students aren't of age to get the full benefit of discounts auto insurance companies offer, there are some discounts that are targeted solely to them. Students who maintain a high GPA will be able to get a moderate discount each month. Holding a GPA of 4.0 on the 4.0 scale will show an auto insurance agency that you are responsible both in school and while on the road.

Some have auto insurance just so they are able to drive when they need to- not because they need to drive on a constant basis. If you live in the city or an urban area of sorts, odds are you won't have much use for driving on a daily basis. If that's the case, you should look into reward programs such as the MyRate plan from Progressive. It logs your mileage and driving specifications and gives out discounts based on how you perform.

Security is the best way to prevent your car from being stolen or vandalized. Having a security alarm or something similar can sometimes put you in the spotlight for a deduction on your monthly premiums. When auto insurance companies can trust that your car won't be stolen, they know they won't have to worry about paying you for such a case. The reduction in risk will bring a reduction in premiums, and while not much, is still worth the effort.

The best thing you can do at this point to avoid a rise in premiums is to stay out of trouble. When you break the law, you are doing more than endangering the lives of others- you are also making your own finances suffer. Auto insurance companies will keep up to date on your driving record, and will penalize you or drop you altogether if you show too much risk as a driver.

Final Thoughts

Auto insurance is required, and thus, you will just have to make do with paying the premiums each month so long as you have need for a vehicle. As always, look to use the tips mentioned to help you get a better deal in the process.
